ok guys ive checked for anything hitting or being loose, all seems fine. I also replaced the dog bone mount while i was under there. If i lift the clutch with the handbrake on its fine no nasty noise nothing! so the flywheel is doing its job! if i then do the same but with some revs applied as you would when under normal driving its rattling! now the flywheel was a LUK one and to me it seemed loose! it had movement side to side as well as the leaflet it came with saying its fine to move in and out a bit too. i dont know if that is how they are but it seemed odd to me. I spoke to the guy at the place who supplied the clutch and he said it sounds like your input shaft bearing on the gearbox. Gear changes are smooth as silk and if i turn the radio up the car drives as well as it ever has, smooth no vibration and very positive. Any more ideas or suggestions are welcome! its not the end of the world but its annoying after spending a lot to replace the DMF and clutch. Tom.

Cars done 170k flywheel was noisy and had bad vibration through the car. Changed the flywheel and clutch for a brand new LUK one two weeks ago, since i did that the vibrations have stopped, but i get a loud rattle when pulling away, if i use plenty of revs it stops but im sure it wasnt like that before??!! the engine seems to be moving about a lot as i get a wobbling feeling through the car when its ticking over from cold almost like the dog bone mount is shot!? any suggestions and ideas would be welome....although my suspition is its not the flywheel as its not vibrating really just a noise sounds like something is touching or vibrating together.....it is load dependant and only occurs below 1500rpm, the guy i got the clutch from said it could be the gearbox but it shifts nice and smoothly and oil was clean. cheers Tom.

Im planning on keeping this fabia for the considerable future (07 vrs SE), i want to know the best place to go for a replacement turbo for it when the time comes? Also considering doing a DIY front mount as i cannot afford 5-600 quid for the kits off the shelf! has anyone got any pictures of there front mounts? not forge or SS please.

which brand are the best for the fabia? ive had valeo which wiped well but were very noisey! got some true part ones from the local motor factors and the drivers side one doesnt make contact with the window properly, so thats no good! which brand do most people use?

Mine is starting to get a little noisy but no vibrations, having said that ive done 50k in the last year and thats with learners behind the wheel! If you guys heard some of the drama the other instructors i chat to in the test centre have with there new peugeots, renaults and the typical learner cars youd laugh your heads off! My fabia is by far the best car ive had, and yes its had consoles but apart from that nothing thats not consumables. ill run it into the ground theres simply nothing new that comes close for me! anyway........DMF kits wheres the cheapest for the proper sachs one?

yes, had them done by a mechanic and there was plenty of anti squeal compound on the rear of both pads and on the little tabs where they slide into the little metal runners, i cant work it out, its driving me up the wall literally!! never heard anything like it, its embarrasing!

my pagid ones from euro have done nothing but squeal since they were fitted! even when im not braking they squeal! drives me mad as im a driving instructor! They have been stripped cleaned reassembled etc etc lasts about 2 days then its squealing again when you turn a corner at slow speed.

Mine sounds like its on the way out aswell!! Cars not done 50k yet!!
