  1. Final try before it goes off for scrap. Skoda Felicia 1.3 mpi estate, R reg. This car has served me well but now needs to go. Generally good condition except for a problem charging the battery, I suspect it is the alternater as I have changed the voltage regulator with no success. The car has no MOT or tax and is on my drive way getting in the way, Yours for the sum of £0.00 if you can collect it from Chichester, West Sussex this week. Failing that does anyone know a scrap dealer that will come and take it away? Thanks
  2. Forgot to add that it's an estate rather than the regular hatchback.
  3. Over the years I have had lots of help from this forum and I thought I'd give something back. The time has come for me to get rid of the Felicia. Rather than scrap it I thought I'd see if anyone here was interested. The car has been sat on my drive for the past three months and now needs to go. It is a 97 1.3 mpi with about 67k on the clock. Bad points: No MOT or tax The battery doesn't seem to be charging. I have changed the voltage regulator but this doesn't appear to have worked. From reading around it may be the alternator. In the past water has got into the drivers footwell but I think this was sorted with a healthy amount of silicon selant. The head gasket went 3 years ago when the thermostat fell apart and blocked the coolant. This was fixed but I'm not sure if there was a new thermostat fitted or whether the coolant just circulates freely. A bit of rust on some of the pannels Good points: Its free, although a donation to the RNLI or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. New pads and disks fitted last year. Tyres are fine Low mileage Generally in good condition apart from what is listed above. Moderators: I wasn't sure of where to put this post. Please move it if you feel it should be somewhere else.
  4. Is there anyway to tell? I have no flashing lights when the ignition is off, or anything like that. There could be a transmitter in the key, but there is no way of telling. Model is a 1.3 Lxi
  5. I have just insured my skoda felicia 97 R reg. Part of the t&c is that an imobilizer is used. The car has not got a alarm fitted and the owners manual is not much help. How would I now if one is fitted? The fact that I am having to ask suggests to me that it doesn't. Cheers
  6. I have heard that there was an ECU update for felicias in 98or 99 to raise the idle revs. My car is a 97 but has only done 20,000 miles. It has just failed its MOT on emissions due to the engine being all over the place at idle. Does any one know anything about the update, where I can get it done if I still can, cost etc. Know its from a few years ago but i thought it would be worth a try. Cheers
  7. Hi Is there anyone who has vag-com in the cardiff area. I know its a long shot but worth a try. My car has failed its MOT on emmissions and I need to sort it out quickly. Failing that does anyone know of any garages in the area that could have a look. If I were to take it to a dealers how much would they charge to read any fault codes? Cheers
  8. How did you manage to get one from Halfords? I have phoned up 3 different branches and all say they have no listing of any relays for felicias. And none of the vw or skoda dealers in the area have any either. Looks like i will have to wait until friday for it to arrive.
  9. I'm having a bit of problems with my R reg felicia 1.3 LXi. The engine keeps cutting out as i am driving, both at low speeds and high. The engine just cuts out as if no fuel is getting to it. Most of the time it restarts once i have pull over and stopped. However a few times it has not restarted straight away. On one occasion i have called out the AA and have been told it is probably a problem with sensors. I have taken it to a garage and had the crank sensor and Inlet Gasket changed at a cost of
