Well I`ve been drooling over substituting my L&K Yeti Outdoor (170bhp 4x4) for a Kodiak next spring (SEL 190bhp DSG), however I was EXTREMELY disappointed to find out that to get that spec I am forced to have 7 seats,I cannot even spec up a SE because they do not list the 190 engine, this means that I am in fact paying £1000 for something that I do not want that is taking up valuable boot space. This spec is listed in other markets so I can only assume that Skoda UK have been very shortsighted in making this spec only available to people who need 7 seats. So as far as I am concerned I am going to order a Superb 190 4x4 DSG Estate.

I have just taken delivery of my Yeti Outdoor 179 L&K. I can tell you definitely that it has GSM 2 telephone prep with Bluetooth. I have paired my phone it has uploaded my phone book and streams music to the Columbus. There is a further option available - GSM 3 which adds HFP, iSAP, and UTMS if you want a few extra "Bells & Whistles". For most users GSM 2 is more than adequate.

Park assist 2 is standard on the FL L&K. The difference between the previous version is that Park assist 2 additionally carries out "Bay" parking and will now also steer its way out of the line of parked cars.

Lets hope your insurance company and the Skoda warranty department do not read these threads!

137699. I think the car looks great, even the "B" pillar covers in black. I ordered an L&K 170 in January to replace my current Candy White 170 Elegance and was most disappointed when I discovered that I could not have a Black roof in conjunction with the Sunroof. Not so sure about the VRS badges.

I would suggest for peace of mind that you contact your insurer for a definitive answer, I checked with my insurer before ordering my steel wheels and winter tyres which are H rated (130MPH ). The insurers confirmed that it they would be fine as long as the rating was higher than the manufacturers stated top speed ( 125MPH ). They also accept the use of a space saver spare wheel ( restricted to 50MPH ).

I tried to order a Y&K Yeti to replace my Elegance in Candy White with a Black roof and Panoramic Sunroof, for some strange reason this option is not available. Bizarrely You can however, order an Elegance and spec it up to L&K and have that with a Black roof/Panoramic sunroof combination? I rang Skoda UK to clarify and the learned gentleman I spoke to could give no positive answer, he did however tell me that he thought it might be due to the fact that the L&K only comes in an exclusive Magnetic Brown Metallic, which is obviously incorrect because I placed my order on the 28th Jan for an L&K in Rosso Brunello Metallic. I also think that the Jan 2014 Yeti brochure is very poor, all the photo`s show continental spec vehicles, all left hand drive and most have Amundsen units fitted. In particular, page 28 - 29 show the L&K with silver roof rails when it is only available with part silver, the dash is shown with "Wood Inserts" when they are in fact piano black. You would think that there should be some form of notation on a page that does not portray standard spec. Rant over - back to reality and build week 15, a lot more palatable than the 10 month wait for my current 2011 Yeti.

How much were the wheel trims and where did you get them from.

I purchased a really good set of Aero style locking alluminium roofbars from www.flli-menabo.it in Italy, they supply Lidl. The model is called a Brio XL with 135cm bars. I paid 108 Euros about £90 including shipping. Contact Manuela at [email protected]

Faced Plywood with a piece of Lidl boot liner glued onto unfaced side. Just slots in behind the seats. Could really do with a darker grey/black colour.

Carquake are still advertising Skoda`s for sale, they have a number of offers including 13% (£3130) off a 2.0l CR 140 Elegance DSG.

Purchased my 170 Elegance online from "Carquake". It was delivered free of charge to my door on a transporter with 5 miles on the clock. Received the V5C 3 weeks later. I believe some online dealers hold on to the V5C for 3 months because they have sold the vehicle as a registered "demo" model to get extra discount.

rog737 and bahnstormer vrs You are quite correct, my own company is charged a percentage fee on crdeit card transactions, the fee is based on the volume of transactions and the amount and is normally negotiable up to about 3%. Perhaps I did not make it clear, but it was merely a suggestion for day to day C Card use and the payment of the deposit in order to get Section 75 protection, not the balance for the vehicle. Most dealers will accept £1000 - £1500 as a deposit using a credit card. I obtained a £5000 credit limit with M&S quite easily and expect to receive about £150 in interest.

Heres a little tip from Martin Lewis at moneysavingexpert.com (Hes the guy on "Watchdog"). Apply for an M&S credit card, they are currently giving a 15 months interest free on purchases offer. Set up a D Debit for the minimum monthly amount and put the money you have spent on the card and would have paid off the monthly bill, into a High Rate savings accouunt. At the end of the 15 Months pay off the balance with the savings and pocket the Interest! As mentioned in an earlier post, any purchase £100 or over paid for in part or full with a credit card is covered under Section 75 off the Consumer Credit Act 1974. This offers an exceptional level of protection to the buyer.

I have never owned a Peugeot but I included a 3008 together with a Tiguan and a Yeti in my shortlist for my Mini Cooper S Clubman replacement. I road tested the 3008 and thought the interior to be rather pleasant but a bit "enclosed", however, I found the ride and handling floaty and the steering to be a bit vague compared to the Mini. I did not road test the Tiguan because it was far to expensive compared to the Skoda. When I road tested the Skoda I found it to be surprisingly comparable to the Mini but with a far more compliant ride. I was a little dissapointed in the 3008 after reading the glowing praise heaped upon it by "What Car", interestingly I found one of their long term test reports in which the journalist complained bitterley about the extremely uncomfortable seating. The main reason I discounted the 3008 however, was because I wanted a 4x4 vehicle and was amazed that although it is classed as a "Crossover" and looks like it should be, there is no 4 wheel drive option available on the 3008.

I have contacted the maker in Italy, they are known as BRIO (120cm Bars) and BRIO XL (135cm Bars). They will sell a set of 135cm bars for Euro 20 + VAT and postage. I shall be ordering them soon.
