Hi Skodaworld!
I've only just found this forum via Google, having owned a Yeti for the last nine months - my first Skoda, although I have relatives who swear by them. We have a 1.2 Active, (the nearest equivalent would be the S), as we don't live in Britain, and the model specs are slightly different for the European market.
We live in a part of rural Greece which has roads that make UK potholes look like shallow saucers, and some of our friends live up hilly unmade tracks, so the Yeti's ground clearance was one of it's big plusses. Many people here have 4x4's, but we have found that we really don't need it, although there are some places we can't go after heavy rain. Our other requirement was for a versatile load space which could cope with sacks of olives (we have our own olive grove) and loads of firewood, as well as being comfortable transport for four plus luggage when our visiting relations require collecting from Athens airport 185 miles away up the motorway.
So far Yeti has done everything we've asked of her. I'm so pleased with it, I wrote a review on the What Car? website, from which a (very small) extract was printed in the magazine earlier this year.
