  1. Update. I have to say Skoda customer service have been excellent. The have paid £255 of the repair, so not too bad as car out of warranty. Dealer (Eastbourne) has been dreadful. Thing is it's now due a service, anyone know a good independent near Eastbourne?
  2. The dealer has just been on the phone, total bill £557.(incl vat) Made up of inlet manifold £283 plus vat and DPF pressure sensor £39 plus vat. I just find it hard to believe that both failed at the same time and that a sensor in the inlet manifold cannot be changed. I would welcome you thoughts gentlemen.
  3. Car is on a 59 plate, they've had it from before Christmas. They seem to be baffled. I have told them that I want any replaced parts so I can have them checked if nessesary. Difficult to believe two failures at once.

    Dead Yeti

Oh Dear! After 40,00 trouble free miles our 140tdi Elegance has had to visit the dealer. Orange engine warning light came on. So they charge £58 to plug in their laptop and concluded that the dpf pressure sensor needed replacing. They changed that and now saying a new inlet manifold is needed! I am sceptical to say the least. Anyone aver experiencd the same issues?
  5. Yeti now back from Palmers in Watford. They replace both headlight ignitors, new instrument binnacle and sorted a problem with the maxidot recognising the sat nav. All seems well now, driving it back in driving snow reminded me what a great car this is. Had a loan Fabia. Not nice. Very many thanks to Palmers who's service is always polite and the boys are on the ball.
  6. Yup! Mines doing the same, been back to Palmers in Watford and was fobbed off with a software update. This is obviously an known problem, they really should have sorted it. Anyway back in next week with a courtesy car for a few days while they try again to sort it. They also tried to fix the rattling speedo trims, they can have another go at that as well while they've got it.
  7. I' ve just been quoted £250 for a spacesaver spare and tool kit. Is this a fair price? Seems expensive to me.
  8. Here's my GS playing in Norway.
  9. Thanks for the replies Chaps, I'm starting to get paranoid about this now. Can't find how to turn it off in the manual but am going to play with the dash computer thingy this morning. (Maxidot?)
  10. Twice now my SM has opened all its windows while sat on the drive. The key fob has been in my pocket, has a button been pressed that causes all the windows to open? Can't find anything in the manual. Thanks Chaps.

    Waxing

Thought I'd better get a good coat of wax on my Yeti before the ravages of Winter. Thought I'd try Meguires wax as never tried it before. Well, mightily impressed, brought up my metallic black paintwork a treat, really easy to use and not too expensive. Unlike any other wax I have ever used it doesn't mark the plasticcy bits, just wipes off. Recommended.
  12. It seems to run just like a new car. No squeeks or rattles, engine as sweet as a nut. Is it possible to rag a diesel nowadays? After all its running fully synthetic oil and all diesels have a governor to stop over-speeding. I've never run a new engine in, my new BMW 1200GS has always been caned and runs a treat!!
  13. Ah ha! I bought it! They did a reasonable deal in the end, I was PXing a damaged Civic and they did make me an offer I was happy with. I went ahead knowing it has been ragged but to be honest with two years warranty left there should be littel to worry about. Palmers did advertise it as a 170 and it is in fact a 140, a fact that cost them three free services and a tank of fuel. The service at Palmers Watford has been pretty good, the car prepared 'as new' so I'm a happy bunny. Probably paid over the odds but it is very well specced and just what I need for work. Tested CRV and X trail, Yeti far better built and nicer ride. Bitwobbly
  14. Just bough a one year old black 170 Elegance, hopefully take delivery on Friday. Having tested the Honda CRV and X Trail I have to say the Skoda is a superior vehicle in almost every respect! Who would have thought it!!
