  1. All, Apologies if this has been asked before, I have read a few posts on the electric opening and closing estate boots playing up but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. The problem I am experiencing is a very temperamental / intermittent problem. All of a sudden which away, I went to close the boot by pressing the button on the boot lid, and the boot lid moved a couple of cms, but then stopped and bleeped three times. I pressed the button again and it did exactly the same. Anyway I was able to manually close the boot, but then on trying to open the boot, it did the same thing but in reverse, I pressed the button, it raise a couple of cm, bleeped three times and stops. Then it has to be raised manually. Anyway, over the last week it has been very intermittent, it works fine on one occasion and then goes problematic. Three questions: 1) Any suggestions as to the fault? 2) Is there a simple fix? 3) Would this be covered under warranty? The cars warranty expires beginning of November, but it has covered 80K. The man at the skoda service desk said that things repaired under warranty above 60K would start to drop off, and he wouldn't be able to tell me until they had done a diagnostic (£100), and got a yes or no from the service technician. So whats the chance of this being covered? Anyone of any experience? On a separate, more minor note as im talking about warranty, I also have "white-worm" on the front and rear skoda badges which I see owners have had replaced under warranty. Is this something you think I could claim under warranty at 3 years old with 80K? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
  2. Hi All, I know this has been discussed lots but I am after an answer specific to my car.... can anyone help? I have a 2007 plate Octavia Scout with Xenon headlamps. The car also has Maxidot. Couple of questions: 1) Can I use the maxidot to adjust the headlamps to drive in the EU? I cannot see a travel mode, is this just on FL cars? Is it possible that I just need this option activating within the maxidot by someone with the VCDS? 2) If no to question 1. I had a look at http://octavia-vrs.com/cms/content/eu-headlight-conversion about moving the slider to adjust the lamps. The pictures displayed on that site, are non xenon, is this the same process for cars with Xenons? When I had a look it looks pretty intimidating attempting to unscrew the Xenon bulb, so wish to know first this is how its done. 3) Can I use the stick on converters - and would these be ok with the self adjusting headlamps? Surely if they self level/adjust then the lights will always be in a different place so the stick on jobbies would be no good? I hope someone can help - as Im off to Italy in less than 2 weeks time... Thanks in advance! Tim.
  3. Hi There, I had this problem last year on my pre-FL 57 plate. It occurred after I disconnected/reconnected the battery while I was doing some work on the car. I then noticed that the door symbol was showing the door open, the interior light stayed on and I couldn't lock the car. I turned out to be a door control module that had broken / blown when I was messing around with the battery. I had to replace the module. Unfortunately I don't know much more about it as it was someone else who did the diagnosis and sorted it out for me.
  4. Ill check the coding for the MFD and see if its been missed off with the new steering wheel controller... I don't suppose you know which part number I need for the correct steering wheel controller i need to incorporate the FL non-MFSW, cruise control and the MFD??
  5. Hi Guys, Right ive had the new 3 spoke FL non-MFSW fitted - but my horn did not work. So I have had the steering wheel control module fitted and this has made the horn work... The only problem with the new module is that it cant be coded to work the cruise control that is fitted to the vehicle. The buttons to change the multi-function display also dont work. Question is: Does anyone know which steering wheel control module will allow - > 2010 FL non-MFSW > cruise control and mfd controls fitted from standard on my 2007 octavia. Hope someone can help.... Regards Tim.
  6. Thanks guys for your quick replies.... Im going from a pre-FL octavia MFSW to a FL'ed VRS non-MFSW so it sounds like it should fit straight on then.... Thanks again.
  7. Hi There Folks, Hope your all well.... I have a quick question and wondering if anyone could help me out - Would a facelift octavia 3 spoke steering wheel (with airbag inc) fit a pre-facelift (57 plate) octavia?? Much prefer the newer look of those wheels. Regards Tim.
  8. Goodyear 4Seasons are really good. Im really impressed with them on my Scout. It has pulled me through all the snow we have had and sticks to the road very well in all conditions!
  9. Hi There, Could some one tell me where the Horn is located on the Octavia Scout? Are they behind the fog lights like on the other Octavias? Whats the easiest way to get to the horn? Thanks in advance! Tim
  10. What size of the Goodyear 4 Seasons did you have put on your Scout?? I am looking at some for mine as I have heard good things!
