  1. Thank You, They are anoying to say the least. I believe it also turns off the whole ABS system too (?), not ideal.
  2. Evening everyone. Firstly Ive got an Octavia vRS 2.0 Diese, 2008. Last night when reversing on to the drive I noticed my reversing lights turned off. So I pulled forward and tried it again... Off they went. Again I tried it but holding the Gear lever in postion (incase it was just breaking contact with the switch). Samething. So tonight I tried again, but noticed that the lights are on when I select reverse, as soon as I move they go out. Stop, they come back on? Has anyone experienced this before? Its worth mentioning (possibly related?), I think I have an ABS Sensor issue (ABS, ESP & Tyre Pressure Lights all come on/off). Thank You inadvance.
  3. Did you find out what the fault is? I have the Same issue at the moment, and after reading up a little its either a dodgy ABS Sensor or broken wire (from sensor).
  4. A friend done that on his Audi and said it kept braking. Also the Car is Sound, I replaced the Mid and Back box last year, and just think for the sake of the small amount (in the long run), I then know that I shouldnt have any further issues. I don't want to replace the Flex, then have to replace the CAT in 6 months
  5. Just ordered this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/91032H-AUDI-TT-1-8-20v-Turbo-2WD-Petrol-10-98-12-06-Catalytic-Converter-/181346877876?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a391dc1b4 But phoned them first to make sure its the correct one. Asked if there would knock a little off as they won't be paying eBay fees. Paid £135 which included the Fitting Pack (Sleeves, gasket, etc) and next day delivery (which is £9.99).
  6. Morning Guys, The Flexi piece from manifold to downpipe on my vRS (53 Plate) has a tiny hole. Just rang Skoda Spares in Bickerton, as they were the cheapest for the Back & Mid Box last year, and they just quoted £950 for the Downpipe & CAT which includes the Flexi piece! They did suggest to take it to an Exhaust specialist, but a mechanic I know reckons that the welds just break after a couple of weeks. Does anyone know a better way around the issue, a Cheaper place or even where to get a Good secondhand replacement? Local scrap yards never seem to have these in either.
  7. Thanks again Bowers1. If you have part numbers, that would be fantastic. Save me sometime, have MOT in couple weeks
  8. Thanks Bowders1, Looks like I'm going to have a search round new cables then. Where did you get the reduction kits from? And did they cost much?
  9. Found this in one of the sticky threads (thanks chicken_eyebrow): "Mooing brakes - Rear brakes make a loud groaning noise when reversing and braking. This was a known issue by Skoda who brought out chamfered edged pads to fix it but some members have found only re-conditioning the calipers has solved the problem for them." My brakes where fine until the begging of the year when I had discs and pads replaced all round. The guy that done it, worked for a Skoda Dealership at the time and looked at it serveral times with no clues. I am 95% sure its just the rears though. My questions are: How many people have actually found that re-conning the calipers has worked? How much did it cost for the re-con (all calipers?) Is there any where in essex that is recommended? Colchester Area? This and a door latch switch issue is the only things wrong with my Octty, I love it to bits and want to get a second one for my wife (Me really) or a Fabia vRS Many Thanks Guys
