  1. Thanks for the replies, I have every intention of refusing the 'fix' until VAG group publish some data with regard to MPG, BHP, DPF refine etc. Although I'd had a letter advising that my vehicle was subject to the recall I've had no further correspondence say it was available.
  2. My Yeti is due to go in for service in January, does anyone know if VAG have released a fix for the the 170 diesel Yeti?
  3. I won't be having mine done until VAG group have published new technical data showing how the update has affected, BHP, Torque, Performance, MPG and DPF regeneration. These were all things I took into consideration when I bought the vehicle. I am aware than VAG group are unlikely to produce such data for the recall as it maybe damning to the vehicles involved after the recall update. If no data is ever published so that I can make an informed choice on whether I have the update or not, I will decline. After all the Yeti I drive is what I chose after test drive taking into account the published technical data for the performance and economy of the vehicle.
  4. Yesterday my vehicle was subject to recall, today it's not, I wonder what tomorrow will bring!
  5. Just checked the vin number on the checker and got the standard reply: Dear customer, a recall campaign has been found for the entered VIN xxxxxxx. Please contact your preferred service partner as soon as possible, who will provide you with all necessary information and service to ensure your safety and car functions. If further assistance is needed, please contact the „ŠKODA Customer Hotline“. I won't allow them to make any changes to the vehicle until I have documented results from VAG showing how the changes will effect BHP, torque, MPG and performance, after all these were factors I took into account before purchasing the vehicle. I would also like info on how any changes may effect the regeneration of the DPF. The vehicle is only 9 months old and I love the vehicle how it is and would not be happy with anything less.
  6. Wish I could but to far and something called the English Channel in the way.
  7. Agree just drive and enjoy.
  8. My Yeti's have done various trip across the Channel, within 30 seconds of removing the key from the ignition you need to push the alarm button which is situated on the B post just behind the seat belt on the drivers side. This disables the interior monitoring and also the motion detection which stops the alarm sounding whilst the vehicle is being shipped.

    Or Monte Carlo!
  10. Trying to shift stock before the new engines arrive.
  11. During my recent dealer saga they weren't either truthful or honest, seems to be a trait of some main dealers.
  12. Assuming that your dealer is not so shoddy as to put back the prop shaft with only one bolt, is there any locking nut or ring on the one remaining bolt? Would be worth checking the remaining one to see how tight it is, or if it's secured with locking nut or ring. I wonder whether they forgot to replace the locking nut or ring otherwise I'd be concerned if there could be a general issue with these bolts coming undone.
  13. Here are some photos of my Monte Carlo. Sorry for the delay in posting.
  14. Or the brochure, or the configurator in fact your better off searching or asking on here. Are other Skoda model as bad as the Yeti?
  15. So it would appear not standard with DSG on Monte Carlo, paper label does not show UG1. Now just need to find someone locally (or South Wales) to see if it can be activated through VCDS. Paper label details below; E1T = Special editions 1D0 = Without trailer hitch 5SJ = Left exterior mirror: convex 5RC = Right exterior mirror: convex (modified viewing field) 1KS = Disc brakes, rear (Geomet D) 6FP = Components with special surface appearance 1AT = Electronic stabilization program (ESP) 3FA = Without roof insert (standard roof) 1N3 = Speed-related variable steering assist (Servotronic) 1NL = Covers for alloy wheels HW6 = Tires 225/50 R17 94W 4UP = Drivers and front passenger air bag with knee air bag and front passenger air bag deactivation 4R4 = Power windows with comfort operation andcircuit breaker 5KP = 3 separate seats (first row of seats) 3QC = 3-point seat belts, front 4X3 = Side air bag front with curtain air bag 4A0 = Without seat heater 8L5 = Roof antenna and "diversity" window antenna J0N = Battery 330 A (61 Ah) QI6 = Service indicator 30,000 km or 2 year ( variable ) 8GU = Alternator 140 A 9AK = Climatronic with impact pressure control free of cfc 8RM = 8 speakers (passive) 7UC = Navigation system "RNS315" (integrated data storage device) 8AY = Radio/navigation system 8QL = Key for locking system with remote control 8X1 = Headlight washer system 4K3 = Radio remote controlled central locking operated from inside and safe securing B09 = Type approval Great Britain and NorthernIreland 7MJ = Emission standard EU5 plus QN0 = Without drawers under front seats 3L3 = Manual height adjustment for front seats 9P3 = Seat belt reminder, electric contact in buckle 7X1 = Park distance control 9ZS = Preparation for telephone internal all- purpose cellular phone preparation with voice control 8WV = Front fog lights 7A0 = Without CD changer/CD player 3GG = Plane rear cargo area 7AL = Anti-theft alarm system, passenger compartment control, backup horn and towing protection G06 = Front shock absorption L67 = Suspension range 67 installation control only, no requirement forecast 7P0 = Without lumbar support in seat backrests F0A = No special purpose vehicle, standard equipment 3S2 = Black roof rails 2UB = Rough-road design Anybody know what 2UB Rough-road design is?
  16. Thanks I'll have a look at for that.
  17. When I leave my house I have a steep drive to the main road. In both my previous Yeti's brake to a halt using the foot brake, check road is clear then move foot from brake to throttle whilst releasing clutch vehicle does not roll back. In the Monte Carlo with DSG brake to a halt using foot brake on the steep exit, move foot from brake to throttle car rolls back, only way to avoid is to do hill start using handbrake. Hence to reason I think it's inactive or not standard on my vehicle.
  18. Does anyone have a Monte Carlo DSG? The often incorrect brochure states that Hill Hold is standard with DSG, now either mine doesn't have it or it's not working. My last two Yeti had it both of which were manual so I am familiar with the system.

  20. It does amaze me that Skoda UK can produce a brochure that is littered with errors. You invest a lot of money in your vehicle and should know exactly what your are getting equipment wise. Any other product that was not as advertised would be returned for refund.
  21. Ok this has been going on for over 5 weeks and I've been without my Yeti. All start with a water leak and I suspected the sunroof. Booked it in for the 19th January they gave me a loan car a bloody awful Chrysler Delta diesel semi auto. Needless to say 24hrs later they advised me that they were still in the process of stripping down to find the leak. I took the Delta back it was that bad, and exchanged it for a loan Rapid, much better. The weeks past and more bits were ordered (various seals, sunroof cassette). Then eventually got the call that it would be ready a 1pm on the 12th Feb. 12.30 they phoned me to say that they weren't happy with the fit of a seal and re ordered it. 24hrs later I get the call that the car would be ready at 5pm. Went to collect it and asked to inspect it prior to accepting it back. Apart from poor refitted trim there was a dent in the passenger door, damage to the O/S/F wing and bumper, also a mark on the rear bumper where it had been parked up against something. Now the dealer made a point when I took the car in of taking photos of the car so they couldn't argue that the damage was there when I took it in. I declined to have the car back and made quite clear that I was not happy to have it back at all. I left the dealer after they had filled the loan car with fuel. On Monday the 16th I made it quite clear to the dealer that I didn't want the car back, and after a three hour meeting an acceptable offer was reached. So tomorrow I finally hand back the loan Rapid and take delivery of a new Yeti Monte Carlo 170 DSG in red/black. It has a few factory options sat nav etc, but I have lost some toys off the L and K sunroof, leather etc, but I'm very happy with the deal. So I'm now onto my third Yeti and after 5 weeks in a Rapid quite excited to be getting behind the wheel of a Yeti once again.
  22. You may find you develop a ringing in your left ear!
