Hi, isn't the fuse box on the right hand side of the dashboard? It fits up against the drivers door when it's closed.

Hi, i was "pulled" the other day going through Middle Wallop by an officer in a new blue VRS doing 55 in a 40 so it was a "fair cop". The officer walked up to my window and gave me the usual speech then said he wouldn't prosecute me as when he was getting out of the car he knocked the machine and wiped out the evidence. He then told me to blow into his breathalyser and the battery went flat in it. At this point he gave up and let me carry on to work. Needless to say i'm driving like a nun at the moment.

Hi, does anybody know where i could get a diagram showing where and how the dash mounts are. Mine is rattling and moving between the back of it and the bottom of the windscreen. Cheers.

Hi, i got the car back. It was the counterbalance on the selector linkage on top of the gearbox,:confused: only £23:). I'll try to post some pics and more info for people for future reference.

Hi, this is nearly exactly the same problem as last time. The car is a 2000 x reg, 108k. Both cables move ok in both directions as far as i can tell as does the linkage outside the box but it appears to be not connected in the box. 1st replacement gearbox 57k, 2nd at 108???!!!!!!!! If the life span of the gearbox is about 50k or 3years it doesn't say much for the infamous VW reliability.

Hi, while driving i suddenly lost gear selection. The gear lever moves as though it's not connected to anything but the cables are moving as is the large metal L shaped "thing" on top of the transmission. When i move this by hand it feels as though it's not attatched to anything!:confused::thumbdwn: I'm hoping this isn't going to be the 2nd gearbox in 3years. Does anyone have any ideas?? Many thanks

Hi, i have an annoying problem. I've changed all four springs and shocks which made a difference but my back end still wobbles and weaves especially in the bends. When i say my back end i do mean the cars! The previous owner towed a large caravan and boat which i think has worn the main bushes. Does anyone know if these are expensive or how much to change? Thanks

My 2000x 1.9 tdi octy has them by the rear grab handles.
