  1. Please help! I do have my radio code, but I entered it twice, or more, incorrectly as I didn't have my glasses on! Now the unit is locked! This happened 3 years ago too, at the time I found advice online [which I can't remember now] which might have involved using the key fob resetting and pressing some key sequence on the unit, but honestly can't remember at all now! I did disconnect the battery for few days, and also drove the car with the radio on for 60 minutes, but still SAFE Locked. Any clue, advice?
  2. Hi I certainly willl start with the loom as per your advice, then test to see if the injector is still giving the same error, before proceeding with buying a reconditioned injector from ebay. Thanking you yet again for your kind support and advice which has really been priceless when there is no ine to turn to in a foreign land!
  3. Hi finally took my car for a computer test for €20 in Slovakia which gave error code 412 F saying injector 3 nit working properly! What is interesting is that the car was behaving well 80% of the time before the test, but once the rror was reset by the garage, the car is misfiring badly most od the time.... Gottaa drive it back to the UK cos injectors here are too costly (around 800 euros). I hope the car will serve me for the next 7 days travelling back.
  4. Managed to have the car started the day before yesterday by spraying 'Rapid' from Wurth into the intercooler pipe, and it has been starting and running eversince but again smoking and juddering 80% of the time. The loom you mentioned to me will be the first thing i will hve investigated as soon as i leave Austria and Germany where they charge the prices i qouted in my previous message. If i get the chance to have the car fixed for cheaper in Slovakia or Hungry then will do so, otherwise i hope it will drive me back to the UK in two weeks time fingers crossed. An austrian young mechanic said he could check the diesel filter if blocked, and replace it if need be, however if that's not the cause of the problem, then the loom will need the car booked in his boss"s garage which means 50 euros diagnostics and 110 euro per hour abour plus parts! Will keep u posted, and many thanks as always.
  5. Ok I will mention it to mechanic here in europ, he was advising me yesterday to change the diesel filter first believing it was bloced. But i had it already changed every two years, last in 2016. The garage owner doesn't agree with the mechanic here, and wants to do 50 euros computer check followed by 110 euros per hour labour!!! Even the diesel filter i buy for £12 in the uk , is priced 30 euros here!! That put me off yesterday as it implied giving them a blanksigned cheque to fill as they wish! The car value and mileage (97000 miles) is not worth spending that much on it i suppose. And i only have breakown recovey service which i still can use anywhere in europe, but it won't cover parts and labour or any repairs. I poured into the tank yesterday a tin of diesel cleaner and going to ask to mechnic to help me start it this morning to drive it high rev on motorway to send any dirt into the diesel filter before changing it (if he still insists on doing so), and mention the loom to him. Once gain thanks for your avice, much valued and appreciated.
  6. Not sure if my car is classfied as mk2....it is 2005 1.9 tdi
  7. Many thanks for taking the time to reply to my query, John. - the intercooler ws not changed, but when i read something online about them being clogged with oil after turbo failure, i asked my mechanic last year if he cleaned the intercooler pip, and he said yes!! - the cambelt was Changed in 2016...and yes the camshaft is turning - when i asked my mechanic about the glow heaters this year he said since the car i startimg in winter first time then thete is no problem with them! - if it was an injector problem then why the csr was behaving when warm! No missfiring? Even though now after drivimg for 24 hours continuously in europe, the car was juddering intermittently even when engine was warm - not against fimding the error codes..but garages in Europe seem less experienced, and more keen on changing for every minute,
  8. Hi all, any advice on this would be appreciated. Last year, my 2005 superb 1.9tdi 130 hp started smoking badly when i was driving and had towed to a garge here i was told the turbo was gone, so i had an new turb fitted. But ever since, the car would smoke (blue to grey) and judder the firt minute from cold start and then behaves normally once the engine is warm. I took it back to the mechanic who checked it with computer a couple of times and said everything was ok and that i should drive it on the motorway to clear off any dirt!! I folowed his advice nut the problem persisted....then i prked the car unused for 6 months. I restarted using it in july this year when it carried on the same pattern...only the first minute from cold start is awkward. I drove to europe few days ago where the car started smoking a bit more from cold, and the juddering started happening half of the time even if the car engine is warm! Now the car won't start, and had the help of a mechanic who sprayd a starting stuff into the turbo pipe to start the car....but still we don know the cause..... One minute they say it may be the fuel pump, or a blocked fuel filter, or injectors.....etc... garges are too dear in eu...and don't want to be used cos of despaire. Any idea or suggestions please cos the symptoms are not typical of know fuel system issues i gathetd from the mechanics....and towing the car to a garage for a computer test will mean obligation to drain my modest bank account!! Please advise....
  9. I bought my car a week before the journey, broke down a day before the last day of the 3-year warranty, but 600 miles above the 60000 miles......!! I was so upset I ended up in hospital with acute pancreatitis. So if this is a ticking bomb, then don't wait for it to go in your face mate! I hope your luck is better than mine! AJ
  10. Many thanks for your reply, mate! Really much appreciated! I miss-typed my car's registration date (am still in hospital! hence my user name: octavia-victim), the correct date is 03/10/2007, and my car broke down on 02/10/10 in Germany (ironic!!), but the mileage was 59, 500 before leaving the UK, and became 60600 at the time of the incident! I had just bought the car before my journey but it has full Skoda-UK history. If what you are telling me about 100,000 miles is right, then you really have shown me the light in this tunnel!! I was thinking of bribing the local skoda dealer in Slovakia to put the mileage down as 60000 only Am not sure am getting your point right about the old injector, I believe the dealer in Slovakia will take it to give some little discount on the price of the new one. Are you saying I should keep the old one to have it exchanged for money value on my return to the UK? what do you mean to mark it X? the dealer told me here they would order the part from Skoda factory in the Czech Republic (they didn't mention VWG).... i don't know if that is another lie of them. Please advise me further on the above if you don't mind. I am hoping to be out of hospital tomorrow or friday at the most, to attend to this disaster of mine! Regards, AJ
  11. Hi everyone I was driving on the motorway in middle Germany when my 2007 2.0 Tdi Vrs octavia showed the coil light flashing few times and the car stalled and went dead! I couldn't started and the road side diagnosed it with a faulty injector, which was the same a Skoda dealer nearby said. They told it costs 800 euro to be replaced!! I had the car towed to Slovakia, my destination, and I was told there the same thing but for 700 euros!! 1) Has anybody had this problem before, was it really the injector, or they are just trying to squeeze some money out of me? could it be anything else? 2) The breakdown was on 01/10/10 and the car registered 03/10/10 so the car was under the 3rd year warranty of the UK, gut the mileage when I left the UK was 59600 or so, and in Germany was 60500 or so... am not sure if that would mean it is still under warranty in the UK especially that they stipulate there the car doesn't exceed 60000 to be covered in the 3rd year!! Please help and advice on this.... the UK Skoda they would re-impurse me the money paid to any Skoda dealer in Eruope provided my car is under a valid 3rd year warranty.... and am not sure if I should tell them the current milage which just exceeded the limit allowed!!! HELP HELP HELP I can't afford this bill at the moment as to make things worse , I entered the hospital in Slovakia for 8 days with Pancreas inflammation!! it never rains but it pours.
