  1. Yes but we have the SE and so there's no "Comfort" section in Maxidot. Although i don't see why controlling the central locking should have anything to do with having electronic seats.
  2. I picked up my SE spec Superb from the dealership last Friday. Unfortunately for me, the doors take 2 clicks to open so i already need to take it to the dealers to get that setting changed. I'm a little disappointed with Maxidot. I thought i'd be able to change quite a few settings, but unless you have electronic seats you'll find that the settings are heavily restricted. The sunset glass is also a complete waste of money. ...other than that, the car is AMAZING!
  3. I've had a read of the owners manual... I don't think you can change the setting in Maxidot unless you have electronic seats! Which the SE model doesn't have. That sucks. My car was delivered with the central locking set to only unlock the driver's door (and to make it even more fiddly and annoying, i've got KESSY so i don't even have the keys in my hand to press twice!). The manual says the default option should be that it opens ALL doors. "Opening a single door This function makes it possible to only unlock the driver's door. The other doors and the fuel filler flap remain locked and are only unlocked after repetitive unlocking. You can have the function opening a single door activated by an authorised Škoda Service Partner on request or you can activate it yourself with the aid of the Information display  page 25." (Page 25 then says you can only change the setting if you have electronic seats). Can i take it to any Skoda dealership to have this done? It's a lease vehicle but it was purchased through a dealership in Newcastle, not my local dealership up the road in Mansfield.
  4. How can you adjust that yourself Silver? I picked up my Superb on Friday but i've not been able to suss out how to change the lock/unlock settings. It's really annoying!
  5. Well, i went back into the dealer's after inspecting the car and told them of my concerns. The girl that was handling my collection came outside, along with a male colleague, and both of them said it was definitely sunset glass. They pointed out two Yetis that were on the forecourt as examples, although again i thought it the difference between the front and rear windows was BARELY noticeable. But i had to concede, there was SOME difference and therefore i had to accept it was sunset glass. My Insignia hire car was parked next to my new Superb. I pointed out the rear windows and told them to have a closer look - you could just about see the rear seats through the tint. Whereas the Skoda was completely see-through. I'll post some pics on here soon and you can see for yourself. I think the sunset glass put about £5 a month onto the cost of the car, which is annoying. I'm pretty gutted, i thought it would look brilliant when contrasted with the white paint!!
  6. The wait is over!!... After 6 long months i finally collected my Superb SE 170CR today from the dealer's up in Newcastle. Here are a few initial comments: - Sunset glass is a COMPLETE waste of money. I was convinced the factory had forgotten to install them, even after doing a close comparison to the front windows. Compared to the rear windows in the Insignia Estate i just had, the Skoda tints are completely unnoticeable. - My car had an umbrella in the rear door. I was expecting one because it was on the list at the time i ordered the car, but i was prepared to kick off if it wasn't there (as many others have reported). - The Alcantara interior is absolutely gorgeous. I also added the wood trim option... the car interior looks VERY good and oozes quality. - KESSY is excellent! Although it's going to take a bit of getting used to. Overall first impression of the car... drives great, engine is fantastic, steering is very well weighted, interior is gorgeous... no complaints at all!! If only they could build them quicker.
  7. Well if you go past Benfield, have a look out for a candy white, twindoor TDI with tinted windows... registration ends "SYX". Snap away! I'd love to see what it looks like! I got a call this morning saying that the car CAN be collected on Friday and it will have a full tank of fuel in it... the only problem is they said it'll be ready "anytime after 3pm". I said to them that's not good enough (they've already had the car since Thursday). I'm driving 150 miles from Derby to collect it and will have a long drive home, so i told them i want it ready for midday. Otherwise i'm going to be sat in Friday rush-hour traffic the whole way back home. They simply refused and said 3pm was the earliest. I think they're basically saying "we don't give a toss about you, our contract is with your leasing company so it's not like bad service is going to cost us business". If i was a private buyer i bet i'd be driving the car by now.
  8. Imagine how frustrating it is for ME... my Superb is sat on the dealer's forecourt in Newcastle, and has been since Thursday, and will be until Monday, because (bless 'em) they're "too busy" to deliver it before then. I've told them to put a tank of fuel in it and i'll drive up and get it. But i've even been waiting over 24 hours just for them to answer that simple question! Benfield Skoda, Newcastle upon Tyne... avoid them like the plague. USELESS.
  9. I've just been told that my Superb, ordered 8TH OCTOBER 2010 and sat on the dealer's forecourt (up in Newcastle) since Thursday 17th, isn't going to be delivered to me until Monday 28th, a week today. ELEVEN days to PDI and deliver a car? I'm sick of Skoda already, everything seems to happen at a snail's pace. I've told LexAutolease to tell the dealer i'm not satisfied with that turnaround. I'm waiting to see if they'll go for my suggestion... that the dealer fills the Superb up with diesel for me and i'll drive up and get it. Is it possible that SOMEONE in the supply chain actually has some common sense? If so they'll accept my idea.
  10. The Insignia is one of several hire cars i've had whilst waiting for my Skoda. It's not been a bad car to drive, but the fuel consumption is <40mpg which i think is pretty poor. Also, the steering is so light i sometimes wonder if it's actually connected to the car. It's a good looking car, but the boot and rear leg-room aren't even in the same league as the Superb! I've also had 3-month hires of... VW Passat 2.0 (110PS), Ford Mondeo Titanium 2.0 (163PS), Skoda Octavia Estate 105PS (PD engine i think... well, it was noisy anyway), and finally the Insignia. So far, i think the Superb is the best out of all of those cars. As for breaking in the engine... the manual says drive and rev it steady, but a few people on here have said it's best to hit it hard right from the off. Does anyone on here have any insight on this subject??
  11. After nearly 5 and a half months, my Superb SE twindoor 170CR TDI has finally arrived at the dealers!! The LexAutolease system tells me that they reckon it'll be delivered to me on 24th March... a week today. I can't tell you how excited i am! I'm desperate to try out the KESSY system, although i'm still a little nervous about how it's going to look (twindoor in candy white, with tinted windows and wood trim). But most of all, i'm looking forward to the engine! It's just a shame i'm going to have to wear her in for 1000+ miles before i can start to put my foot down I'll try and remember to take a load of photos to post on here
  12. The cars are driven to Emden on a transporter, then shipped to Grimsby before going back on a transporter to be be driven to the relevant Skoda dealership. It seems to take around 3 weeks to complete this journey. I've been told it's then another 7-10 days at the dealership before the cars are available for delivery or collection. Mine is apparently due at the dealers on Friday! Although this information hasn't been undated since last Wednesday, so we'll see... I've learned not to take anything for granted when it comes to Skoda delivery dates! My TDI Superb was ordered 5 and a half months ago and was originally scheduled for delivery to the dealership in December 2010.
  13. I ordered a 2.0 TDI 170CR on 08.10.10. The original stock date i was quoted was 31.12.10!! It's been as late as 28.4.11 since then, although i'm fairly confident it's not far away now as 2 days ago the stock date moved from 25.3.11 to 18.3.11... a week today. I've been told it'll be 7-10 days at the dealers, so i'm hoping i'm only 2/3 weeks away from finally getting mine! Just under 6 months from order to delivery. I think if you've just ordered the 170CR you're looking at 7-8 months before you get it.
  14. Is there any way of tweaking the functionality of KESSY in the Maxidot system? For example, i think i'd quite like it if it locked automatically when the KESSY is out of range of the car, instead of having to touch the door handle each time. Is this possible?
  15. I've ordered KESSY too, i'm still awaiting delivery of my car. I think it's being built this week! Anyway, there doesn't seem to be that much information about KESSY online for some reason, but i've found this video on YouTube demonstrating some of its features. Having asked other members about KESSY before i placed my order, i've been told it will remember seat positions (if your car has electronic seats as an option) and it will also remember wing mirror positions. According to , KESSY also makes it impossible to accidentally lock the keys in the boot! I can't wait to try it out.
  16. I've had a similar experience. I ordered my CR170 Superb on the 8th October and was initially told i'd get it on 31st December! It's now sometime around 5th April... 7 months waiting. It annoys me when i read posts on here from people that ordered their car after me but have already taken delivery!! Why such huge inconsistency in delivery times? Can someone at Skoda give a LOGICAL explanation for how a car can have a build week 4 one week, 12 the next, then 8 the week after? What catastrophic production line failure has occurred in the space of 7 days to delay a car's build by several weeks? Conversely, what amazing process efficiencies have been developed in the space of 7 days to bring forward a car's build by several week?! It makes no sense. Skoda seem to move build dates around on a whim. It leaves customers feeling confused and ultimately annoyed at the apparent unfairness of the system. To add to the problem, Skoda don't seem to care about communicating the reason for delays to their customers. I'm never buying a Skoda again.
  17. Skoda still aren't able to explain how a car can be ordered 11th November and be built and ready to deliver by 22nd Feb, whilst my car was ordered over a month earlier but still hasn't been built. I think i can explain... Skoda's ordering system is *&%$
  18. I'm aware that private buyers are being offered compensation (or they're entitled to compensation?) in the form of vouchers or an "allowance" to spend on dealer accessories. I ordered my car through Lex Autolease. The order was placed on 8th October, and it's currently estimated that i'll get it sometime in April. So we're talking a good 6 month wait (SE twindoor, 170PS TDI with Kessy). As i have no direct contact with the Skoda dealership that ordered the car, do you think i should be asking Lex to speak to them on my behalf and see if i can get some floor mats / mudflaps thrown in for my troubles??
  19. I have Superb on order. It will be my first, and last, Skoda. I ordered it 8th October and was given a stock date of 31st December. This has now been pushed back to 28th April. AWFUL, terrible service from Skoda. 7 months for a car? I could build one myself in that time. Don't believe a word they say on delivery times. It's all lies, they're way, way behind schedule.
  20. The colour makes it look like a Rover.
  21. I'd hurry up and get your order in if i were you! Especially if you want a diesel engine. If you place an order now, Skoda will probably be JUST about ready to deliver it in time for your 20th birthday.
  22. I managed a whole month without Skoda postponing!! Oh, but then they postponed. Now they reckon it'll be in stock 25TH APRIL 2011... for a car that was ordered 8TH OCTOBER 2010. That's more than 28 weeks, well over 6 months. Outrageous. I can't tell you how annoyed i am. If I could cancel the order i would, but it's through my company car scheme & i'm not allowed. This will by my first and last Skoda. However good the car is.... (if it ever gets built). Now 3 and a half months after ordering, the delivery date has been postponed by 4 months (so far). Nice to see we're making progress. Shame it's in the wrong direction.
  23. Seriously?! Mine was ordered 8th October and my current estimated delivery is 11th March. There's NO logic behind Skoda's lead times.
  24. Steve, if you can afford to wait a short while before ordering your lease car, do so. I ordered mine through our company car scheme and Lex Autolease. I always knew i wanted a Superb, I just hoped that i'd be able to order an SE spec, 170PS diesel engine, with enough allowance left over to add on a metallic paint. When i did my first quote, i couldn't afford that. I was allowed the engine & spec, but the metallic paint tipped it over the edge! I tried a few days later and the prices had gone up even more, meaning i couldn't even order the 170PS engine! I was absolutely gutted. Then I tried again at the start of the following week... the prices had dropped a huge amount for some reason! It was letting me add so many extras i eventually decided to give up on the metallic paint althogether!! Instead i went for KESSY, heated seats, etc and i stuck with the white paint (which has grown on my massively since, having searched the internet far & wide for pictures!). So my point is - don't rush into a decision. Keep checking the prices if you can. An SE spec'd Superb is WAY better value than a Passat. And all the reviews say, even when you rule out the "value" aspect of the decision, it's simple a better car. Good luck mate.
  25. Err YES. I ordered mine on 8th October. So far the delivery dates i've been quoted are as follows... 31st December 14th January 20th January 28th January 10th Febraury 23rd February 4th March So 2 months after ordering, the delivery date has been postponed by >2 months (so far). Skoda are bloody useless... i'm ALMOST regretting turning down the offer of a Mazda 6 TS2 that i was told by the leasing company was available in stock. Almost.
