  1. i live in Rugby and again was sad to see Brooklyn closed:( i bought my 2005 Octavia Elegance Estate from them brand new in March 2005 and they couldn't have been more helpful. they even loaned me a Brand new Fabia whilst they got my car in and PDi'd as i was without transport Not many dealers left like them I was considering buying a used Fabia from them for my partner but alas they are now gone I hope no one got caught with deposits and don't have a car to show for their cash Kev:thumbup:
  2. Took my Octy II 2.0 Pd Elegance Estate in for its first service on Saturday - asked the dealer to look at the dodgy radio reception on FM during the service - they said no problem we will do a software update. Returned to collect the car 2 hours later only to be told Radio no longer working - software update failed radio completely stopped working. 3 days later after several phone calls and another visit to the dealer we now have a new Stream radio on order. However they are on back order with no expected date - i also learnt from the dealer yesterday they have another one already on order that was ordered on the 5 May 2006 !. I am now more disappointed in my Skoda - this is the 4 warranty claim now in 18k and 14 months of use. 1) Turbo hose failure - Car off road for 2 days 2) Rear wash hose disconnected 3) Rear parking Sensor fault - 3 visits to sort out 4) Radio CD not working - 2 visits so far - no known date for replacement Not at all what i expected Saddened :(
  3. Help !!! - Has anyone else had there Parking sensors stop working I have a Mar 05 Octavia Elegance estate fitted with front and rear parking sensors. Today i was parked in a car park facing a barrier - when i parked the car - sensors were fine - indicating close to barrier When i returned 2 hours later got in and started car and the parking sensors came on as per usual when i engaged reverse but imitted a high pitched beep (higher than normal) and the display on the radio disappeared - at the same time the Parking sensor light on the button on the centre console started to flash ? :( anyone any ideas ? Cheers Kev
  4. I can't see the pic ? - i am fairly new to this !! - help cheers Kev
  5. Skoda Octavia MK 2 Estate 05> Rear wash system inoperative Has your rear wash system stopped working during the recent spell of cold weather? Does the screenwash end up on the rear load cover instead of the rear screen!
  6. Anyone had their rear wash pack up in this recent spell of cold weather ? I have and i have solved the problem without a visit to the dealer and without invalidating the warranty - took 45-60 mins tops to sort out - if anyone needs details of "How to" let me know and i'll post the details Kev Octy II 2.0 Pd Elegance Estate Diamond Silver 17" Pegasus Alloys & sports suspension Front Parking sensors
  7. I chose the Octy because i liked it - and because i needed to replace my previous useless Peugeot 307SW after only 4 months because neither the dealer or manufacturer knew how to fix it. Following the Skoda's excellent results in all the surveys for overall customer satisfaction and my experience with owning a Peugeot i opted to go for the Octy II following a test drive which was very impressive. I went for the Elegance model because i wanted all the extra's and because i needed the car quickly the particular car i was offered also included the 17" Pegasus alloys, sports suspension and front parking sensors. (I only had to wait 3 weeks for the car and whilst the dealer was waiting for it to be delivered they loaned me a Fabia free of charge - something a Peugeot dealer just wouldn't do!) I was tempted by the Octy I before i bought the Peugeot but was put off really only by the lack of legroom and space in the rear seating area - something which has been greating improved in the Octy II model. The only slight niggles i have with my Octy II are 1) There is no warning light to tell you the Cruise Control is swithed on ? 2) The radio reception from the Stream is sometimes poor - but the sound quality on CD is far superior to the system in a 307! 3) Minor i know ! - the vanity mirrors on the sun visors aren't illuminated 3) Fuel consuption at 8500 miles is not quite as good as my VW Bora 130 TDi sport i used to run as a company car - Bora used to average 50mpg Octy II averaging about 44-45 mpg - 307SW XSi HDi 136 - 35-37 MPG ! - rubbish apart from that a very satisfied customer ! may be considering some form of remap/tuning in the future but suggestions on this website don't indicate any good results so i am not sure. :thumbdwn:
