  1. I had the same leasing issue and I didn't want a taxi/police car so went with the blue. Surprised about the amount of compliments I've had on the colour, didn't really like it but after 3 weeks it looks like a dirty metallic anyway, it's certainly not as flat/dull as expecting and if I had a more expensive lease option I'd have no hesitations ticking the pacific blue option and spending the savings on some more options for my comfort.
  2. If it is a company car it is also worth bearing in mind the new passat costs a lot less in tax for the comparable engine/performance, over the period of a lease this could be quite significant...
  3. I have just taken delivery of an SE Estate, I had a 2011 Octavia Elegance as a temporary loan car before delivery - I put 5000 miles on it. Superb is in a different league to the Octavia: looks, space, finish, comfort, noise there is no comparison. My other half has a 2008 Passat SE with a few extras. The Superb is bigger, has more kit and is better value, however, the Passat is more comfortable, has better seats, better cruise control and has a better finish - Skoda have needed to save some money and I can see this in carpets, some plastics, seats, glove box etc. The passat corners better, has less roll and feels more agile without compromising ride. I'm not mocking the Skoda, I am over the moon with mine, but, if mine wasn't a company car and we didn't have to pay for the Passat maintenance we'd probably choose to drive most places in the Passat - especially if it was motorway. If I was buying one with my own money it would be the Skoda just for the size and value. If I was offered the choice to drive to the south of France and I didn't need space I'd take the Passat.
  4. My new Superb SE was delivered last week and I'm very pleased. However... Before the car was delivered I had the use of a 2011 Octavia with a Bolero. I used a class 10 32gb card no problem, it was instant and very good, had 30gb of music instantly at my finger tips. I put the same SD card in the Suberb's Bolero and it doesn't list a third of the artists. Anyone had this before, what is the solution?
  5. Passat is leagues ahead of the superb when comparing CC. The superb has one of the crudest CC's I've used. It can't get any more basic. Still, better than not having it I suppose!
  6. Card came today from 7dayshop, put 26gb of music on it. Works as quick as the 8gb. Track/Album/Artist selection is instant, I'm very impressed. Highly recommend it, no more cds!
  7. 7dayshop have a 32gb class 10 for £27 delivered. I've got a 2011 Octavia with a bolero on loan prior to delivery of my Superb. I have a 8gb class 10 card full of music and it reads the tracks instantly. I can change albums, tracks, artists instantly - quicker than my pc and hdd and slightly quicker than my ipod!! It starts up instantly as soon as inserted. I'm so impressed I've bought a 32gb to see if it is as quick and effective - i'll update when I know!!.
  8. I'd be happy with that, was your Superb order for a hatch or estate? I'd be happy with a decent spec Octavia estate for a period of time.
  9. My new Superb SE estate company car should have been delivered this week, it was scheduled (as far as masterlease were concerned) to be in the dealer in the last week of February for the inspection and then to me early this week. Masterlease have been in touch. Skoda have admitted they have cocked up and the car isn't available - no date when it will be yet. However, Skoda will supply me with an alternative car free of charge until the Superb is ready. This has its benefits for my company who no longer have to pay the leasing costs but very little advantage for me... Any idea what the typical alternative replacement car could be for a lease vehicle? I wouldn't mind driving round in a yeti/octavia for a couple of months. However, something tells me it won't be a model that is in demand! Masterlease did say this seems to be a common problem with VAG at the moment and it's not just Skoda that is affected.
  10. Do the newer MY11(?) models suffer from the same problem? I get mine delivered in a couple of weeks and I'm intrigued.
  11. Passat cruise stalk increases by 5 if you push up and one if you pull towards. I feel it is a better system that the superb on the separate stalk. I think the seats are more comfortable too. My superb arrives in March so should be able to comment a bit better on the relative merits. However, we are very pleased with the passat, it is an excellent cruiser, very spacious and comfortable - if the Superb is as comfortable I will be a happy man (can't remember the seats being as nice).
  12. Hi All, I have to order my superb estate SE on Monday and have a budget of approx £400 for options. I was settled with getting the upgraded sound and dimming mirror but after reading negative posts I'm wondering if my money would be better spent on heated seats + screen. Can anyone say the sounds is definitely worth the price? Anyone got both and couldn't live without one? Any help is appreciated
