  1. Thanks very much. I'll get it down a garage and see what they say. Out of interest how much is the ring control module?
  2. Evening all Got an odd problem with my 2011 Superb Elegance Estate Greenline. This evening i jumped in the car and all was well, but then 10 seconds or so later i lost all steering wheel controls for the radio, MFD etc and also the horn. After a frustrating head scratching short journey, I turned the car off, locked up, grabbed my fish n chips, got back in the car and it started working normally again, but only for about 10 seconds, before the same thing happened again. Anyone know what this could be?
  3. Managed to pop the blank off in front and could access the park assist button. Removed it and cleaned it up with a baby wipe. Much better now. Still probably won't ever use it though... Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  4. Evening all. Was wondering if anyone can assist. On my 2011 Superb Elegance my park assist button has stuck down. I've only attempted to use it once, just to try it out (I bought the car 2nd hand, so didn't spec it with it!) But when I did press it, it's now stuck in! No amount of wiggling or prodding will seem to release it. What can I do? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  5. I've ordered a set from Superskoda. I'll let you all know how I get on with them. Thanks all for your input. It's a bit of a minefield, I didn't realise how complicated it potentially could be! Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  6. That's good to know. Those are the ones I had seen originally when searching. It says they're 'mega powered'. Are they not too bright and white out the number plate?Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  7. Excuse my ignorance, but what are these codes? Is one for pre -facelift and one for post? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  8. Evening all. Having read through this post with interest, I've become a little lost as to what is what. But I'm after some rear LED number plate lights for my MY2011 Elegance Combi. I couldn't see any mention of any on here as of yet. Does anyone have any recommendations? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  9. Evening all. I love the look of my Superb , but I feel the rear end could look a bit cleaner by replacing the rear number plate lights with LED ones. Can anyone recommend some good ones, that 1.) Don't cause a light on the dash to come on, 2.) Aren't silly bright, actually whiting out the number plate. Thanks in advance! 10. Thanks for all these interesting techniques. Today I took some of these on board and tried a few out. The key I think was anticipating traffic far earlier so not having to make any unnecessary braking or acceleration, also allowing the car to naturally slow slightly on inclines and then return to 65mph on flat and downhill sections helped considerably too. In fact my figure was 61.3mpg over the entire journey, which included being stuck in traffic in Braintree for about 10mins, so a good improvement on previous. I know there was a comment about what difference does a couple of mpg actually achieve? Well, a few years ago my dad was putting on similar miles on his Megane DCi and discovered driving at 65mph instead of 70 I creased his fuel consumption by 5mpg and actually saved him over £400 per year. So even 2mpg to me could be saving me half that, which is a lot of money to me. I will also be sure to give it a good old "Italian tune up" now and again to keep her running sweet in the long run, so as to avoid any nasty repair bills. I still have to try increasing the tyre pressures a fraction (only a couple of PSI) and hope the warm weather later in the year helps further. I don't carry anything unnecessary and the roof bars are not fitted, just the fixed roof rails. Thanks again for all your useful advice.
  11. Ah, didn't think of something such as the DPF regenerating. All very impressive stuff this. I'm still getting used to all this tech! Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  12. Just a quick one, On my Superb Greenline the stop/start function sometimes doesn't come into play, so when I apply the handbrake and select neutral the little stop/start symbol appears, but with a line through it. Why may this be? I understand it will be the case when the engine is cold, but after a good hour's trip it sometimes does it too. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for the tips so far. Currently the car is running on Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres (all brand new). I'm under the impression these are quite grippy and not 'eco' tyres, like Michelin Energy's for example? I've stopped using cruise control and that has added another 1mpg or so over the course of the journey. I have my climate control just set to auto. I tried driving at 60mph, but found myself driving st the same speed as the lorries, which I don't like so whilst there's any nearby I'll drive at 65, when it's open road I'll sit at 60 and see what difference that makes, plus accelerating on the flats, rather that on inclines. Also, I know the tyre pressures are set to what the manufacturer recommends, but does anyone runs slightly higher just to reduce friction? Or is that very much frowned upon? 14. Evening all, I've recently bought a Superb Greenline Estate Elegance, which I love. But this is my first ever diesel, having previously owned an Octavia vRS TFSI and currently two Mk2 Golfs, so mpg has never been hot topic. However, a new job and 140 mile commute per day meant I needed to chop in the vRS for an economical diesel. Oddly, I am now receiving enjoyment through mpg figures. I drive through town for about 10mins before hitting duel carriageway/motorway and don't stop or hit a roundabout until 5 minutes before I arrive at work. Currently I'm sitting with cruise control set to 65mph and due to leaving for work so early, I don't often have to disengage it. The car is returning around 59mpg at the moment. Great, compared to the vRS of course, but I'm itching for more. Anyone got any tips for eaking out those extra miles per gallons? For info, it's the M11, M25 and M1 that I drive on, just in case some of you know the roads well!
  15. Rang all the breakers and none have a driver's side one. Rubbish... But yeah, I'm definitely investing in a dash cam. Can't help thinking it's locking the door after the horse has bolted though. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
