  1. Sorry thats 35K miles. Just worried that i'm buying yet another older car, but its immaculate.
  2. Hiya i'm looking at swapping my 2007 PD Elegance for a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI Vrs Cr 170, its in really good nick. Due to budget we're looking at a 2009 version but its done £35,0000 Would you buy it? ANything to look out for?
  3. Hiya. I currently own a 2007 elegance PD. Looking to swap it in the new year for a 2010/2011 model. I'm happy with the 2.0TDi, but have had a bit of trouble in the past with coolant leaks and turbo. I'd stil buy another skoda but wondered if there was much difference in the way of spec/performance and if anyone had any trouble with them. I've been looking at the Elegance and the SE.
  4. just re-connected the battery and it still won't start......Turbo it is.....Just joined the RAC and will ring them on Wednesday.
  5. yeah only took out fuse 24 for the lighter and put it back in.....Gotta feeling its do with the turbo though as its been making a siren sound for a while and goes into limp mode when overboosted.
  6. Engine turns over normally but doesn't fire up. I checked the cigarette lighter fuse before setting off this morning. This might have affected the immobilzer so will disconnect the battery for 30 mins. This wouldn't explain why it started and i was able to drive about 400m before it cut out.
  7. If its a fault with the immobilizer will disconnecting the battery sort that out?
  8. Hiya. My skoda octavia was runing fine this morning when i did the tip run. Got back in it to nip into town and got 5 mins around the corner the car just died. I pulled over and tried to start it and it turns over but does not fire up. All the electrics work but the engine light stays on. I have had the turbo playing up on me with the overboost fault and am due to get a new turbo put on it on wednesday. Got it towed home by a mate but gonna have to get the RAC to come out and pick it up to take it to a garage Any ideas on what it could be? Meddy.
  9. Hiya, It seems my turbo's given up the ghost on my 1.9tdi. Its been making a siren sound for some time now and now the overboost fault is happening with it going into limp mode more offen. I've followed the main post about cleaning the turbo and this didnt do anything. I popped it down the garage to see if they could sort it and they say its knackered. They've offered me a brand new or recon turbo with £200 being the difference between the two. Would you get the recon one?
  10. Took mine in for a diagnosis check and the garage (indy) said it brought up two codes...p1698 steering column fault memory and po234 boost pressure control above limit.
  11. I thought that was 90,000 miles and it doesn't say anything about the water pump in my handbook?
  12. Hiya my Octavia Elegance which is on an 07 plate is due for its service as told by my onboard computer. Its just done 80,000 miles / 120,000 km which i presume is the normal service plus the diesel particle fileter inspection..i'm getting it done by an indy.....what should i expect them to do?
  13. I am in no way mechanically minded and my other half (who is in the navy) is away at sea.....how much would a garage charge to do this? Mrs Meddy.
  14. Forgot to add that mine too had the police siren noise
  15. I've got a Skoda Octavia elegance and this happens every now and again. Its mainly when joining motorways....i give it the bean on the slip road to join the motorway and the turbo cuts out and and speed dies. If i turn the car off and back on again the turbo works again. The turbo does not whistle or make any loud noises either.
