  1. What about the outlet/inlet on the cooler tho? The pipe work look correct to work with the octy? Was thinking it may be a generic 1.8t 20v setup cooler, but for the engines with throttle body on opposite side
  2. anyone fitted one of these intercooler kits? Are they direct replacement, any modifications needed? eBay - 151188362967 Or is it just the forge and pro alloy inter coolers?
  3. Few updates and pics. Have had the alloys refurbished and sprayed black, totally changed the look of the car, And looking a little dirty parked up on my lunch break at work Also sprayed the front grille and badge black. Have also fitted some coilovers and painted the caliper said yellow Also fitted a rear wiper delete which looks a lot better. Only did it as some scumbag snapped my rear wiper arm off so decide to go for this instead. Next up to do is get the arches rolled to give me a little more clearance and fit some spacers. As well as get the front bumper booked in for a respray and repair once I have don't the wide mouth mod and get the boot sprayed as it has a few rust patches near bottom of window and remove all badges from the rear. Then onto a few performance mods.
  4. This is my vrs, photos taken about a week ago, now she has coilovers fitted. Will upload another pic of her soon. Started to tidy things up by removing the rear wiper arm and fitting a bung. Looking to get the rear badges removes and big mouth mod on front bumper as well as the slight damage on front repaired (previous owner). And also acquired myself a black carpet from a golf to go in hopefully the weekend.
  5. I bought a compbrake one off eBay, half the price of the forge one.
  6. Sneak peek at the rear, happy with the ride quality so far, had lowering springs previously and the ride quality is very similar. Plan on getting the arches rolled in the next few days and fitting some 5-10mm spacers to the front to give me more clearance from the shock to wheel and then I will be able to go lower on the front.
  7. If you undo the 2 bolts that clamp the bush to either side if the anti roll bar, can you rotate it?
  8. Finally got the car finished, the wheels are 18x8 ET35, there is a few mm clearance but probably couldn't drop the car much more so will see how the car sits once the shocks have settled. Also impressed with the adjustable coilovers, very good quality. Also changed the lower arms as well as the top mounts and had fun trying to get the rear bush bolt on the arm out, super tight, had to buy a Impact gun to get it out...
  9. Yes merc ones or as I have done I bought ta tecnix adjustable ones instead
  10. Had one wheel off today, managed to have a quick look on the back of the wheel and there 8J but couldn't see an ET followed by number... Should be on the back of the wheel yes?
  11. Yes I have ordered some ta tecnix adjustable drop links. When unsay helper Spring, can't see what u mean by that in the pic? I hope my wheels clear as I thin even if I fitted 5mm spacers on the front they will stick out too much. Your car sits spot on Lloyd that's exactly how I want mine to sit...
  12. Hi woundering if anyone is running 18" alloys on the octy with coilovers fitted, more specifically prosport coilovers? Been reading a few posts about the drop links and clearance to stop them hitting and been out to my car to see what size spacers I could get away with and my fronts are basically flush with arch already and rear I could get away with fitting maybe 5-10mm spacers. Probably looking to drop the car to witin 20-30mm of the tyre from the arch. Currently have lowering springs fitted but the car just doesn't sit right so wanna go lower.
  13. Just wondering if anybody is interested in a group meet up somewhere in South Wales . Use to be a few of us who met at Sarn services but I think there renovating it. Whos interested and any suggestions on location?
  14. I'm in need of my car checking over one weekend or possibly one evening if you don't mind?
  15. Bought my mk1 octavia vrs last week after the torque converter went on my previous car, Bmw 330d. Previously had a Fabia vrs and couldn't turn down the opportunity of owning another skoda. After seeing this on the net it was ideal for me at the moment, big car ideal for chucking the kids in and plenty of room in the back for the amount of traveling I do. So far been really impressed with the car. Few little things need to be sorted but will get around to them. She has 124k on the clock. Good service history. She has I believe Audi A8 18" wheels fitted, maybe wrong. And from looking under the car she's been lowered but only springs I believe. Rides really nice, little bumpy on some back roads. Car sits really nicely. Here's a few pics anyway... Have a few mods I will be doing.... Changing front and rear badges for new black ones Painting front grill surround black Having alloys refurbished and painted black FMIC And remap Big mouth mod. Only downside at the moment is that a few people have said it looks like a taxi! Lol it soon won't...

  17. Looking into what gonna be most cost effective, changing my gearbox for a refurb end unit or getting mine refurbished? Mine whines in first gear but no other gears? Any ideas
  18. I don't mind when either really, use to meet up Sunday afternoons. But any late afternoon/evening is good for me
  19. Good effort... Is the standard inter cooler the small unit in pic 3 in front of the new one?

  22. Does anyone know where you get the black grill surround for a vrs 2003 ? Also the flip up panel which covers the ashtray behind the gear stick, how does it stay down? Mine is constantly up and I can't see how it's suppose to be closed? Also are the front and rear badges 80mm?
