  1. The front cup holder is about my only gripe on the Kadiaq, the 2 holders are just too close to each other. We have 2 genuine Skoda thermal mugs both supplied with our new cars and they don't fit as the cups are pushed apart at an angle. 2 standard McD's coffee cups and be extra careful as lifting one out can knock the lid of the other one! an extra 5-10 mm between the holders would be perfect!

  3. I think I still have the instructions but it is a book not just a single sheet, I will see what I can do on Saturday. You do need a good pop rivet gun and most importantly the special tool for fitting the 8mm crush nuts (rivet nuts)
  4. I got a dog guard from Barjo and they have dividers as well but if you don't have the guard you will need to make up a mount for the front edge of the divider as they all use the guard for the front support of the divider

I fitted running boards to mine yesterday (I did buy the genuine ones from superskoda but they don't include the rubber seal that goes along the top of the boards between the body and boards, £15.00 from the dealer.) It took 4 hours but doesn't require any drilling or cutting at all. All in all a fairly straight forward job and you don't have to take the doors of as the instructions say. the only difficult part is you have to fit 4 X 8mm flange (or rivet nuts) in the holes once you take the rubber bungs out of the sills, the holes are predrilled but you do need the tool for fitting the nuts. after that there is a line of "pop rivets" along the top edge of the board where it attaches to the body again it uses the holes from the removed rubber seal. I did these with a combination of a pair of lazy-tong riveter and a hand riveter but you could use just a hand one, I found using a trolley jack under the board made life a bit easier. The instructions tell you to fit a locknut to the 8mm studs on the support brackets but I found it was easier if you left these off until the boards were fitted and then fit when you install the final support. I also used Loctite thread seal on all bolts.

The running boards are genuine Skoda from Superskoda, but be aware that if you buy from them they don't include the rubber gasket that goes between the running board and the sill (£15.00 from the dealer) Had the wheels painted by a local independent paint shop who do wheel refurbishment as part of their services.
  9. Picked my Kodiak on Tuesday, 190 DSG Edition in velvet red with ivory interior, tow bar, heated screen, interior lighting pack, spare wheel, remote rear backrest release and Canton sound system. Running boards to be fitted when I get the time (hopefully next weekend) Had the wheels put into black as I think they look better.

New Kodiaq finally arrived and a bit early! was due for delivery on September 1st but took delivery on the 31 July not worried about new reg as its on a private plate any way, and the dealer gave a couple of incentives to take it early (short on target for month springs to mind) Velvet Red 190 DSG Edition 7 seat with Ivory interior, heated screen, rear seat back rest release, tow bar, front and rear sensors, reversing camera, Canton Sound system, interior light pack and spare wheel. Had the wheels put into Black the day after I picked it up, I think it looks a lot better but that is personal taste. Just got to put the running boards on next weekend (sitting in the garage but SWMBO had other plans for this weekend!)

PXed my 60 plate Superb back in 2013 with 120K on the clock for an E350 E Class estate and bought another E Class 350 in Sept 2015 which is now due for replacement (103K miles on it, tried the new E Class and couldn't get comfortable in it and the price! Went from the Merc dealer to the Skoda dealer next door and tried a Kodiaq Edition, what a cracking piece of Kit!. New one on order for delivery September, 190 Edition 4x4 in Velvet red and Beige interior with 7 seats, towbar, Canton Sound system, heated screen and washers, spare wheel and rearview camera. 6th Skoda we've had and all from same salesman wife's now on her 4th Octavia (2016 150 TDI DSG SEL estate) looking forward to being back on the site

We rejected my wifes first Mk 2 Octavia Elegance 1800 TSI when the DSG box seriously played up within 40 miles of picking it up from the dealer and it was going to take 3-4 weeks for the parts to arrive when they found the fault after 4 days. they replaced the car with no problem. good service from the dealer (Wayside Milton Keynes) and went back for the VRS
  13. We have a TSI with DSG and Milton Keynes to Hull and back got 39 MPG which is the norm travelling at about 80 (sorry officer I meant 71.5) normal mixed driving we get around 30/32mpg. car now done 10K and is just on 1 year old
  14. we ordered the factory one but cancelled it when the dealer phoned and said they have to cut holes in the trim and headlining to fit it
  15. We have them in ours and are very happy with them. With large dog and small grandson there perfect and easy to keep clean

  17. We are very happy with the Barjo dog guard may not be the cheapest but does go the full depth of the rear seat and no drilling at all. http://www.barjo.co.uk/

I used to work in car transport a few years back and although not a regular problem we had breakins about 2-3 times a year. alloy wheels was always a favourite but they always went for the cars at the far side of the compound jacking them up and removing the wheels, it would have been easier to take the spare out the boots as all cars were open. we then lost about 10 radios one night. the bright spark of a manager insisted all cars were locked. next weekend at the overflow compound 17 smashed side windows and 17 radios missing. we also lost 1 new Astra GTE. With the size of the compounds they are very difficult to secure and unfortunately if anyone gets in they are virtually impossible to find in amongst all the cars we regularly had 3 to 5000 cars in the yards

Exchanged my Superb May last year for a Merc but the wife now has a M3 3 Vrs combi TSI with DSG thoughts on the 2 Superb estate has more room in the back seats and the load area but not by much the load area on the VRS has a noticeable step when rear seats are down The ride is firmer Interior seems to be better quality and finish front seats still comfy on a 300+ mile trip Not so many toys but after a while didn't use them anyway - miss the n/s dipping passage mirror though Apparently you cant get the heated front screen on the petrol now (we did get it on this one) fuel consumption down by 10MPG But a lot more fun and if you get a white one cars slow down as you come up behind them (think its an unmarked police car)
  21. You pays your money and takes your choice we have my E350 AMG estate and the TSI VRS both are very good cars but in different ways. The E class has much better quality on the leather and other fittings but I have less toys than the Superb Combi I traded in for it and the Merc has all my essential toys. My decision at the time was I didn't use a lot of the toys on the Superb and whilst the Superb was a good motorway cruiser the Merc beats it hands down and obviously 265BHP does make a difference. Running cost on the Merc are not too bad if you take out the service plan, I don't lease my cars as I do around 45K a year. The VRS TSI is also a very good car and great fun and has more than enough room and fantastic performance, its well spec'd as standard but as you start adding extras the price does creep up and starts to bring it into a different class price wise. The entertaining thing with the VRS is watching jaws drop when they find out its a Skoda!
  22. My Mercedes does not have a service record book its all on line and each service / repair is logged on there. It is accessible on the website once you have registered as the owner and dealers can access it at any time. Also means that the inclusive breakdown/assistance service is renewed after each dealer service. If you want to go independent for service etc then suppose you will have to keep copies of receipts, which I do any way
  23. We have it on our VRS estate and its about right and although slighty darker in the back it is by no means a cave and rear vision at night is good too
  24. We took our Old English sheep dog with us to test the boot size before we ordered, dealer slightly taken aback but we had a blanket with us and the dog fitted fine and is very happy in his new (roomer) mode of transport
  25. We have lfull leather on our Mk 3 VRS and are well happy with it, seems to be much better than the leather in my Superb Combi. we're both of a larger stature and after 2k they are as good as when we picked the car up
