  1. Hi, I am also looking for the updated Swing software to 8755, this is what I have installed at the moment but having issues with crackle on Carplay. Any help appreciated.. Steve
  2. Hi Nik, I just had this issue with my Octavia vRS TDi. I left it for a while but after a few months I noticed that it went into limp mode when the engine temp hit 100c. Had to get a replacement pump which was around £160 and labour on top of that but if you are within warranty I would expect that would be covered. Steve
  3. Just as an update I popped out the headunit and pushed it back in and so far no more screen blanks. Hopefully, that's the end of it..
  4. It's not the front panel of the infotainment display I was pressing it was the front of the headunit in the glovebox that was making it come back on. Consistently did this.
  5. Thanks Eltezz, I have ordered some radio removal keys. I believe that if I disconnect power from the unit I may need the system to be recoded by Skoda is that correct? I was looking at it again last night and noticed that if the screen goes off if I apply slight pressure to the front of the headunit it pops back on again.. very strange.. just hope I don't need a new one! Steve
  6. Hi all, not sure if anyone else has had this problem but currently I have having issues with my bolero infotainment screen flickering on and off. Basically, radio/audio works fine. The screen just intermittently goes off and on every 20 seconds or so and screen becomes unresponsive. I believe it may be something to do with the headunit as everytime I open the glovebox it tends to come back on again. It also seems to be worse going round a left hand bend! Now the question is what do I do? The car is now out of warranty and these headunits are expensive (dealer told me around £1300!!). Dealer told me I can get it in for a possible software update (dont think that will fix it) and I can only imagine that they will go down the 'sorry sir, you just need to get a new headunit' option. It does seem that there is a loose wire somewhere. I have had glovebox out and checked wiring at back of headunit but everything seems secure? Thoughts? Steve
  7. Ok guys, when dashing for the ferry to Larne beware there is an unmarked white Octavia vRS in Ayrshire! ;-) Nice motor btw!
  8. Hi, depends what advice you are looking for? There are options out there from guys like Revo, shark and Apr. Or, alternatively you can go down the tuning box route and use guys such as dtuk. Steve
  9. Is it just me or is the tyre wall and rim of alloy to flush for comfort? There is no forgiveness when you nudge the kerb!

  11. Looking nice, well done on the fitting! Think the black pack looks a lot better on vRS especially on the white.
  12. Thanks guys, that is helpful. That makes sense to me, it must have gone down pretty quick.. not sure why? Pumped it up last night and seems fine today. Have reset the TPMS again in case there is a slow puncture.
  13. Hi all, had first flat today, or at least very soft tyre (18 psi). Think it dropped quite fast so possibly nail or something. Thing that bothered me most was that the TPMS warning did not alert? I set the pressures a couple of months back so not sure why it did not 'ping'? Any ideas? Steve
  14. Guys, does anyone else have the issue when closing the door with the window down it makes quite a loud noise and sounds like it's going to break something? Mine sounds like it is missing some rubber or cushioning and makes a 'crack' when I close the door.. Happens on both front doors? Steve
  15. No problems at all, genuine Skoda parts.. I ordered from them at the time as ordering from skoda dealer was taking weeks and I cancelled and just ordered from these guys. Btw don't follow the postal tracker, I found it was not accurate. Steve
  16. I ordered from Skodadop and it took 1 week to arrive. Steve
  17. Here you go.. A couple of pics from a drive in the highlands of Scotland at the weekend..
  18. You could try this for starters - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-FABIA-OCTAVIA-VRS-TOUCH-UP-PAINT-PAINT-CODE-9463-RACE-BLUE-/141377629110?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item20eac36bb6 I have used turtle wax repair kit with touch up paint which has worked well. - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Turtle-Wax-Car-Scratch-Repair-Kit-For-Paintwork-FG6772-/270889127505?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item3f12400e51 You may want to take it to a body shop if you are bothered by the dent as this would need filling in.. Steve
  19. The part is £43 not sure about fitting awaiting a quote. Steve
  20. Thanks, that's helpful.. will let you know how I get on
  21. Where did you put the chisel/screwdriver? I assuming the new surround just clips into place? Steve
  22. Thanks guys, yes my concern possibly is damaging the grill itself if I take the brute force route on the surround but my other concern is taking the whole bumper off.. I saw someone else's pics and it looked pretty scary! Maybe I should just get the dealer to do it? Steve
  23. Ok guys, after much thought have decided to get the black grille surround. I should have just got the black pack when ordering the vrs but have regretted it ever since so just ordered the black surround from my dealer. Question is should i take whole bumper off or just break the chrome one? Thoughts? Steve
  24. You will find they come on in the rain as well and on my car it doesn't make any difference if I have that option selected on or off in the car settings they still come on in the rain if set to auto on the switch.
