  1. If I could change one thing about the RS, it'd be to make it 4x4. I looked into this for my '10 RS but it would have been easier to just buy a Scout and drop an RS (or GTI) engine in etc. Does anyone know if this is would be any easier now that the Mk3 is on the MQB platform? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
  2. So the GTI is getting it but not the O3... bugger. Whiteline have nothing yet, I've even tried to contact them but no luck. I might test the rear swaybar when I get it, I'll post results. No use trying the fron SW just yet, bout 3 hrs labour in that job! I dont see why the ALK wouldnt fit, unless they have totally scrapped bushing diametres etc, which I doubt, but agan, I'll test and come back with results. Cheers all.
  3. My MkIII arrives in a month and I'm already planning mods! Just wondering if anyone knows if any of my current handling gear will bolt on from the Mk2 to my Mk3? Namely, my white line front and rear sway bars and anti-lift kit & my eibach springs? I dont want to add on my Koni FSDs because I know the Mk3 has adjustable handling settings so I dont want to mess with these at all by adding in aftermarket gear. But not sure if any of the other gear would make a difference. Also looking into control arms, but not sure if these are necessary. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
  4. I feel your pain mate...I had the same problem with my Mk II, turns out it was the sunroof drainage holes. THE TEST: fill your kettle (don't boil it), open both front doors and the sunroof and you should see holes in each corner, poor a bit of water into the recess near the holes, if the water doesn't drain, it's a blocked drainage hole(s) and you should see water emptying into the cabin and onto the carpet. THE FIX: There should be little rubber nipples in near the door hinge that drains the water, if you squeeze them a little it should unblock some of the gunk and it'll drain it's self. if not, get an air gun and give each hole a blast. And here's MY fix, cut the bloody nipples off, hasn't happened again since I did this.
  5. I'm looking to get stiffer through the corners but I'm having a bit of trouble finding the right bars to do the job. At the moment I'm running Koni FSDs with Eibach springs, Whiteline front and rear sway bars and Anti-lift kit but I'm still not satisfied with the amount of body roll I'm getting through the back end (bear in mind I drive an estate). What should I be looking at next? I'm hesitant to go the a full bush kit as I already have a ton of NVH from the torque arm insert (dog bone bush)... But it's there as a last resort. Has anyone investigated the RS-P braces and found anything? (see attached) I think that this set-up may have been a one off custom job, but I thought I'd ask around before I go trying to find brackets, tearing up the interior to find mounting points and cutting up bits of carbon piping! Any help or thoughts on the subject would most appreciated.
  6. How was the Neuspeed one? Did you get a loud buzzing? I understand that all inserts will cause some vibration, I'm just trying to work out which has the least of the all... Any ideas?
  7. Hey all, Has anyone had any experience with rear Torque Arm inserts? I installed an APR insert yesterday on my MY10 Octy RS DSG. http://goapr.com.au/products/engine_mount_insert.html And although it has sharped throttle response and almost eliminated a few of the flat spots around 2000RPM... it's downfall is it vibrates.... SHOCKINGLY! So much so, that when I pull up at a set of lights I have to put it in neutral or park so that it's no so loud and annoying. Has anyone ever dealt with this? And if so, is there a remedy? Have I just installed an insert that is too hard? Does anyone know which has the least vibration out of the Powerflex, Neuspeed or SuperPro (APR)? Also, I've got a Milltek Full turbo back exhaust coming next week, will this help soften the rattle, or worsen it? Thanks fellas, much appreciate you help.
  8. Yeah, a bit out of my price range! I've seen a few I like, but not sure if they'll fit the 50 offset. Can I get spaces if I find a good pair of 40, 0r 45s?
  9. Hi all, can anyone suggest some good black wheels for my 2010 Octy RS? I'm after 19" +50 offset wheels in black, matt or gloss... Any Suggestions?
  10. Yeah mate, that looks better! I unscrewed the bars at the weekend and found that the holes beneath are big nasty squared holes with rounded ends!! ****E! I bought some circular auto body plugs hoping they'd do the trick, but how wrong I was. I have about 5mm either side left to fill. I think my only option is to talk to my local body shop and see if they can use some filler and spray over the top. PRICEY $$$$ Which leaves me thinking... is it all worth it?
  11. I want to remove my rails entirely, any ideas what I put in place of the screw holes? I wish I could find a single slim strip rail, in black to match my black vRS.
  12. Can this be done without having to go through the interior?
