ABS Control Unit failure
PaulEFC replied to paulolourenco76's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Had the same problem with my 5 year old Octavia this week and was told it was quite a quick job. Five days later I still haven't had the car back and being given different reasons including having problems bleeding the brakes. I'm tearing my hair out and lost a lot of money not having the car. Where do I stand with a local garage and has anyone got any advice on how best to proceed. Doesn't help that I don't know much about cars. -
I operate three cars and except for the usual servicing/maintenance involved with high mileage cars I've never experienced anything like what I'm having with my Skoda Octavia (60 plate). At it's second service I was told that the fuel filter housing was deterioating but not covered by the warranty and now 19 days after the warranty has expired I have the following problems 1. Clutch judder (In due course new clutch and flywheel) 2. Leaking radiator (New radiator) 3. Turbo hose bulging (New hose) Only really went for a new car because I thought it would give me less hassle and expense but this has left a sour taste. It's done 70000 miles. Any thoughts?

Part of my servicing included £8.25 for an Environmental Charge. Anyone else come across this one?

First Service costs on Variable Servicing
PaulEFC replied to ChrisRs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
As far as the Health Check is concerned I would take it as a pinch of salt. Just had mine back and they got the make of one of the rear tyres wrong and the spare. Presumably they haven't checked it at all or not properly. -
Variable servicing cost at 60000

Apparently one of the mechanics has got a photo of it on his mobile. To be honest it wouldn't mean anything to me anyway. We're talking about a main dealer here. -
Variable servicing cost at 60000

During the servicing I was told that the fuel filter housing is corroded and will need replacing but not covered under warranty. I pointed out that I've got a Peugeot 406 on 285,000 miles and never come across this. Anyone any views? -
I've just had my Octavia (60 reg) serviced and been charged £348.91 which I thought was extortionate. Anyone got any comments?
