  1. Sorry no Just the Coil packs left
  2. Clearing out the Cupboard, and still have the Coil packs available used for less than 100 miles to fault find £40 + postage
  3. I brought a 2010 VRS at the start of March, before doing much research (big mistake), it was 35k 2 owner full service history and looked immaculate. Unfortunately I found receipts for on oil consumption test (in the October before I brought it) a few weeks after I got it, then I started doing research. Skoda UK & the dealer that serviced it (this is also the dealer in hull that took it in part ex, knew it was a grenade and punted it to a garage in Carlisle), messed me about for so long playing to you to me, it was the best part of 8 weeks before I found out what was actually done to the car. It had the full breather mod, and oil jet work, and a new timing belt fitted with good will in the November before I brought it, that was after it failed 2 oil consumption tests. The dealer that did the work later admitted that even after the work it only just passed an oil consumption test, so the work they had done had not fixed the issue. I noticed the car was using oil, but was feeling OK about it as the Skoda dealer told me what the guidelines/tolerance were and it was within the. Then on further research he lied about acceptable/within tolerences consumption. On top of that I was burning plugs for fun. I had 3/4 weeks of back, and forth with SUK/the dealer that did the work, even writing to the CEO of SUK, and the outcome was it would probably need a new engine, and as goodwill applied/used to do the oil jets/breather work I would get nowt from SUK. So to cut a long story short I traded it in ASAP and lost a fortune on it!!, as I figured that was better than driving a ticking time bomb that would cost £3500-4000 when the engine gave up. For all people say get a warranty etc, I can honestly say I wouldn't bother with one, I think they are really pushing the engine to get 180bhp out of it, and that is probably the source of the issues. It's all well, and good getting a warranty but who wanted the hassle of having to argue to get an engine replaced, and the hassle of getting it done. On top of that a new engine doesn't necessarily fix the issue as I'm sure some member are on their 2nd/3rd engines. it wont be popular on here but in my opinion its like playing Russian roulette with a car, and as much fun as it is to drive its just not worth the headache. I also test drove a Golf GTi and a Leon FR and both were just as much fun as the VRS albeit you had to pay more to get a same year GTI/FR as the VRS
  4. You will hopefully get somewhere but I was just fed up, and thought even if I dragged it on and on there was no way SUK would pay the full amount and by that point I'd lost the love for the car and didn't trust it anymore, so it got traded in (as didn't want to sell privately) I got £5200 trade in for a car that cost me £6600 about 4 months earlier and I was lucky to get 5200 to be honest, now had a Astra elite 160 CDTI, with a tuning box and a peadl box its really not that a far off the VRS about 195-200bhp and 45mpg so its all good now
  5. SUK and the skoda garages are useless to be honest, they left me high and dry with my VRS. Brought it in march with 35k full Skoda service history, shortly after buying it I found a receipt for an oil consumption test my heart sank. I rang Skoda immediately and ask them for the history. I was told over the phone that a consumption test had been done in the November before I got the car, then in October it had a lot of work done to it, and that it was in a1 running order after the work and I had nothing to worry about. I asked for exact details on what was done but skoda refused and pointed me to the dealership. Cue a 6/7 week back and forward with the garage/skoda before I was finally told, that the car had new oil squirters, breather mod, and a cambelt change done at a cost of £900. But it later came out when I pushed the garage after continuing oil usage / eating plugs issues, that the car only just passed an oil consumption test after all the 'so called fixing work' had been done. Obviously I wasn't happy as why was the issue not rectified properly in November?, surely if all the work was successful, and the issue fixed why would the car still use oil, and only just pass a consumption test?!?!?. I complained to SUK, got no where fast, I then emailed the CEO direct saying how crap it was that a car with 35K a full Skoda service history and all the mods done to fix the issue still had a ****ed engine, I also complained about how long it took for them to tell me exactly what was done to the car and that if they had come back with the information quicker I may have been able to hand the car back. Eventually I got a call of a service manager who said I had a very good case for an SUK contribution but that it was up to the Skoda dealership to decide on if it warranted a contribution. I was not happy with tis as surely SUK should decide that, he confirmed that the garages get a 'pool' of contribution money and its up to them who gets it. I complained as why the hell would a garage the car has never been to, sanction a contribution on a £4K engine replacement (originaly garage that did the work was in Hull, I live in Newcastle so it would be going to the Newcastle dealership). The manager thought I had a strong case, and said he would talk to the dealership in Newcastle to see what contribution I would get. Came back to me in 10 mins to say garage in Newcastle would not support an contribution claim so I would get sweet FA, and that there was nothing more SUK could do for me, and sorry about the bad experience I'd had, and he hoped it wouldn't put me off a future skoda purchase lols!!!. I tried to argue my case more and they weren't interested, when pushed they said goodwill had been applied in the November so they couldn't sanction another payment, even when I pointed out the goodwill work in November had not satisfactorily resolved the issue, and that if the required work (new engine) had been done in goodwill in November I wouldn't be having the issues. The manager admitted that as it still used oil after the work (shown by only just passing a consumption test), it should have been investigate further then. In the end I had enough was getting no where!!, and had to decide between running the car till the engine went pop, and then having to fork out £4k for a new engine, or taking a £1300 loss on trading the car in. I opted for the 2nd option and got shot. Even now it still immensely ****es me off as the VRS had the best service record of any car I've had, the lowest mileage and was in the best condition. But what upset me even more was SUK lack of interest they weren't really bothered about my plight at all. At the end of the day no 35k engine with a full manufacturers service history should ****. I'm also fairly sure the Skoda dealership in Hull knew they had a lemon and royally duffed me, the car was traded into them in the January (presumably when the previous owner discovered the car was still using Oil and traded it in), and then instead of being for sale in Hull, the VRS is punted to a non skoda main dealer in Carlise and they (the garage in Hull) were cagey as f*!k when I was speaking to them about the car.
  6. Dammit was just going to say I have four as new coils for sale :-(
  7. WIll do the sunglasses holder for £10 plus delivery and the 4 practically new coil packs boxed used for less than 70 miles for £40 plus postage
  8. I sold my VRS due to oil, and engine issues. Before selling/trading in I complained to Skoda UK, escalated it to one of the CEO's, and I got offered no goodwill at all, this was on a 2010 39K car will Full Skoda service history, that has the oil jets, and breathers done in Nov last year under good will. I got told as the car had good wlll applied last year there was no chance of getting any this time. I argued that the work done last year obviously hadn't solved the issues (as the car only just scraped by an oil consumption test after the work), I argued if the work had been done to solve the Oil consumption issue in Nov, why did it only just pass a consumption test. They admitted it should have been investigated more in November, as it shouldn't have used oil after the breather and Jet mod, but they still refused any good will. Now I'm sure people would say I could have got some contribution/good will if I complained more tried to drag it out etc, but by that point I'd lost confidence in the car and didn't want to drag it on for weeks. I spoke to a friendly VAG technician, and he said best case if I dragged it out I may get Skoda to pay some of it, but not all of it, and I didn't want to put anymore cash into the car, I was quoted £4500-5000 for the new engine by SUK. So in light of the above I would say the offer you have is very good, and I doubt they will pay the full amount even if you did complain.
  9. Anyone interested in the Coils or Sun glasses Holder before Ebay?
  10. Yup I had a plug like that after about 6 weeks, mind it did have a dodgy coil on that cylinder so I'm not sure if that helped, but the fact mine was also using oil, and SUK were not interested meant I got shot!, lost a load of cash, but learnt a lesson and touchwood happy with the new car
  11. Anyone interested in the Coils or Sun glasses Holder before Ebay?
  12. Just Sun Glasses holder and the coils packs left now
  13. Any interest in the sunglasses holder or the coil packs before ebay?
  14. if your spraying interior bit just use plastic filler primer (very good for hiding any imperfections), then top coat, then laquer will end up with a brilliant finish
  15. I colour coded the stereo and gear surround and they looked good
  16. I have a set of barely used coil packs did about 75 miles in them fault finding (was plugs in the end) looking for £50 for the 4
  17. Just Sun Glasses holder and the coils packs left now

  19. Yep its still available add £3 if you need it posted
  20. Let me know if you want it and if you need it posted, as will be shoving the bits on ebay tomorrow night
  21. Took me 5 mins, as I had to swap the sensors for the alarm, really easy, pop the surround out (remove sensors if you have them), fit sensors to sunglasses holder, pop sunglasses holder back in done
  22. Last few bits : Sunglasses holder OEM skoda in black £12 Coils still boxed (new used for less than 100 miles for trouble shooting) set of 4 £45
  23. Well drove past the garage I got my new car from and my VRS is on the forecourt now, up for £6999 I think the garage is dreaming TBH as the VRS only cost me £6400 in march & I put about 5-6k on it, so no chance they are going to get £6999 that stupid money!! especially with it being a grenade :-(
