  1. Well...the issue with mine was the control unit in the glove box. It needed a replacement unit in the end. The dealer diagnosed it on the day it went in and addressed the problem straight away so it's all good now [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Well...its booked in for Thursday so I'll feedback on how it goes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Interesting, mines a vRS. Must be something dodgy going on that affects us poor vRS owners My MKII was perfect in everyway so hope this isn't a sign to come. Good point about taking a quick video of it in it's broken state, I'll do that tomoz morning just in case it miraculously starts working again. Cheers for that and hope you got yours sorted mate.
  4. Thanks very much for that...I did think fuses so I'll check it out
  5. Hi, Wonder if anyone has had issues with their Bolero. My new 15 reg Octavia has developed an issue :( It started with an intermittent issue with the headunit seemingly losing power at certain times. The Bolero would power off randomly and then on again, no real series of events were triggering this. Then...this morning when switching the ignition on, the unit wouldn't power on and remained off for my 40 mile journey. Same on the way home, totally dead. The only thing I do get is on the Maxidot. If I flip the info around to Media, I get "Audio is currently not available". If I scroll round to Telephone, I also get "Telephone is currently not available". It's a pain mainly as I can't use hands free but, also slience isn't much fun. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. My local dealer can't get the vehicle in for two weeks and I kinda need hands free for my job etc. Any thoughts would be greatly welcomed
  6. Just got my new vRS MKIII this morning and first impressions are pretty good. The photo is a bit rubbish but you get the idea. Hopefully I'll take some decent ones at the weekend. So sad to see the old MKII vRS go after 4 years of pretty much trouble free motoring. She had 82000 on the clock so it'll be interesting to see how this one measures up against that. The new one is Candy White (again) and has the following optional extras - Black Pack Plus (Sunset Glass, Black grill surround and wing mirrors, 19" Xtreme's, Colour Maxidot) Canton Front Sensors Full leather with Red stitching Winter Pack First 100 miles covered and I've almost forgot what the old one looked like
  7. Mike...I have my Octy III vRS on order but, this was exactly what I noticed on the demo vehicle I had. I've never had an issue with my current MKII vRS and going from reverse to first has always been trouble free but, I found after reversing, I'd move the gear stick back to a neutral position and then push it forward to select what I thought was first gear to find myself abruptly reversing once again. My other half said it was just me but we all know that they know nothing Just hope this is an isolated problem to my demo, yours and a limited number of Octy's, hopefully you get yours sorted mate.
  8. Adaptive Cruise Control. Essentially it automatically adjusts the vehicles speed to maintain a safe following distance between vehicles in the same lane.
  9. Must be catching! I kerbed a wheel yesterday in the insanely tight staff car park where I'm working at the mo! I don't know whether it's lucky or unlucky that it was a demo car. The damage was clocked when the geezer picked it up so I'm just waiting for a phone call Fills me full of confidence considering I've just ordered the Black Design Plus Pack so will be getting the 19" Xremes. One extra inch to damage I guess! lol
  10. So...you're saying treat them gently for a time Mence? What's the best thing for them, low volumes for a few hours first? Is there a big difference between these and the standard speakers then? I like my music and thought I'd chuck this option on so hopefully it's a good move. To be fair, the standard set up ain't toooo bad either.
  11. Went for the manual Keith. Again, I could have got the DSG but I would have had to have sacrificed quite a few options, including the Black Design Plus Pack and, I need those wheels
  12. I know Mence. I battled with it soooo long but in the end, I just played in safe as usual. I'm going to have this one for 4 years and couldn't bring myself to risk it. Still think it looks totally amazing though. The other thing was I would have to had sacrificed either the front sensors or Canton to get it to fit within my lease option. So there we go.... I still think Candy White looks nice with the red accents of the seats and the brake calipers and it brings the rear lights, reflector strip and the rear diffuser out well on the back end. Oooohhh...hope I've made the right decision lol
  13. Finally decided on the spec for the new Octy to replace my MKII facelift TFSI vRS. After much deliberation, especially on colour I've decided on - 2.0 TDI CR vRS in Candy White (again!) Front Parking Sensors Canton Speaker Upgrade Black Design Plus Pack - 19" Xtreme's, Colour Maxidot, Sunset Glass and Black Design Pack Winter Pack - Heated front screen and heated nozzles Heated Leather with Red stitching I've just given the demo car back today and I was blown away by the handling compared to the MKII. The diesel also doesn't seem a huge step back from the petrol TSFI although, I've got to put it out there, I'm not convinced the interior quality is as good as the MKII. This is especially apparent on things like the door cards and the next to useless ambient lighting. The demo also had a few scratches on the cheaper plastic parts of the interior like the glove box and it just leads me to think that things may have the tendency to look a bit rough around the edges in next to no time. It's still a great car though and offers so much more than the MKII as standard. So...let the long wait begin
