  1. You are probably better off spending the £100 or so on travelling further afield to find a higher spec than getting a classic and retro fitting cruise. I don't I think could cope without the extras nowadays. Just my opinion though.
  2. Another greenlight customer. Not experienced after sales but best quote by some margin.
  3. I've tried this before and to be honest mpg is decent (not worse than shell). Never ran for too lob though as it is only 97. The engine does run smoother than on standard 95ron.
  4. Hmm. I thought so. Seems to be ok at the moment. Only had compressor done about 6 months ago..
  5. Driving down the dual carriageway today, it seems something hit the front of my VRS. It has damaged the black part of the bonnet grille and has made a dent in the workings behind it. Looking at it, it doesnt seem to have punctuired through, but if you look at the pictures it is "dented" quite a bit. Do you think this will cause any problems? photos here: Thanks, Will
  6. Hello. A couple of questions if I may: 1. Where is the air box/air filter located in the engine bay and is it easy to get to? Could a novice replace it quickly/easily? 2. Is the air filter on the TFSI vrs engine a flat panel filter or a round filter? Searching some sites for air filters using my reg and reg year/model returns a choice of either a flat panel filter or a round filter. Thanks in advance.
  7. I had this a few weeks back. Not noticed it again since and was after a long drive (with lots of heavy braking - behind an over cautious caravan at easter). I assumed something had just got hot and was cooling off. Tbh it sounded more like a bubbling over than a drip, but would assume it was the same as you experienced. Could possibly be the fuel breather?
  8. I also use shell helix it's 504/507. I use the helix 5w30 though as 0w30 doesn't have the vw approval that I can see.
  9. Agree, my 156 did 160,000 miles, had a few problems, but nothing major. Only downside was that parts are expensive and garages hate working on them (from my experience) but mine was great. Think my octavia (reliable VAG) has had more issues in last 9 months than my 156 did in 4.5 years.
  10. Interesting, I have inflated mine to vredesteins recommended psi at lunchtime and the ride is harder as expected, what I have notice in the short time is that the car feels a bit more responsive, so we shall see how it goes.
  11. I have vred sessanta on my vrs and I have the std 2.0 bar and 2.1 bar. Will have to see what is recommended. Vred website says: f: 45psi r: 51psi Doesn't that seem a bit high, bearing in mind skoda recommend 29 and 31?
  12. Red 197. Handles like a go kart. Sticks to corners like glue. If only the vrs was that that tight on bends.
  13. Thanks. Yeah it's a petrol vrs. 197 is great. It's the missus's really but I do find myself wanting to take it out for a spin a bit too much.
  14. My history is not as varied or as long as most but here it is: Owned. Fiat Bravo 1.4 (1st car) Alfa Romeo 156 2.4JTD & Hyundai Coupe 2.0 (current) Skoda Octavia 2.0 vrs 06 (owned for 9 months so far) & Renaultsport Clio 197 (only had 3 weeks so far) Best. Alfa for power, clio for fun, octavia for size and speed.
