  1. I drive the latest Octavia Scout with the DSG box, probably at the top end of the Skoda price range, but so far it is the perfect car for my needs, plenty of room, higher ride height,4 x 4 for the winter, for me the best pound for pound all round car on the market today.
  2. Top Quality on a budget SKODA OCTAVIA 2.0 TDI CR Scout 4x4 5dr DSG (Review date: 15th August '11) I waited 7 months for delivery of my Skoda Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI CR DSG DPF, which was the only downside to choosing this car!! I have had it 3 months now and so far I cannot fault it. It is the ronseal of the automotive industry, it does exactly what it says on the tin. The engine, 4WD and DSG gearbox are superb, Build quality is excellent, I get 50mpg + on a run, the road holding is exceptional for a car with raised ground clearance. It suits my lifestyle perfectly, fishing and ferrying 2 daft springer spaniels around. I have used it off road to access fishing where a normal 2WD car would not get!! The deal from Skoda was best on the market, VAT free on car & options, 50% deposit with the remainder interest free over 2 years, 3 year full servicing & maintenance package for £1300, £300 refund to compensate for extended delivery time. No wonder Skoda won manufacturer of the year 2011. Dealer service so far has been exemplary. So far the perfect buying & owning experience. The definition of quality - fit for purpose at minimum cost. Buy with your head, this is an Audi A4 Allroad bar the badge at less than 2/3 of the cost!! As you may have already guessed - I love this car!! Practicality 5 / 5 Reliability 5 / 5 Running cost 5 / 5 How it drives 5 / 5
  3. Sorry to say Leigh, waiting times are bad, my Scout 2.0 TDI CR DPF DSG took 7 months to arrive, the good news is now its here I am delighted with it!!Dealer told me that if i ordered another one now I would probably have to wait 8 months!!
  4. Jasper13 / brilliant silver with polished alloys / 2.0 TDI CR PDF DSG / June 2011, had to wait 6 months but love it now its here!!
  5. Jasper13 / Brilliant Silver / 2.0 TDI CR DPF DSG June 2011
  6. Doesn't work for the order number I was given by Thompson & Potter, Burrelton, Perthshire, Scotland.
  7. Finally got a build date for my 2.0 TDI CR DSG Scout 23 May 2011, delivery mid June - ordered on 27 Nov 2010.
  8. Had a diesel Scout on order since late November 2010 still no word of a build date and Skoda UK Customer Services Manager told me on the phone after I had written to them, they have no direct contact with the factory to find anything out, so how your salesman contacted Skoda Direct is beyond me, my dealer can't!! Sounds like he spinning you a line unfortunately!! just got an e-mail from my dealer today saying there is a build date of 23rd May 2011 for my Scout DSG- if that becomes firm that will be a mid June delivery 28/29 weeks from order. Almost 7 months!!
  9. really not pleased to hear you had a 10 month wait, but glad you are happy with the car, did you spec many extras. Ordered my Scout 140 TDI CR DSG fully loaded 27th November 2010. Spoke to Skoda UK customer services who told me they don't know when cars will be delivered as they have no access to the factory production line planners ( Not sure I believe that). I also asked if UK buyers were being put to the back of the queue behind Russian and Chinese markets as rumoured on Briskoda. UK sales Manager told me that was wrong, it was just down to massive demand and shortage of TDI CR engines from the suppliers. Have to admit I don't know what to believe. The only thing I know is true is that dealers don't care if you cancel as they can easily sell your cancellation for much more than you were going to pay for it. I originally ordered a manual version last June but due to the wait changed my order to a DSG version when this became an option. The manual version the dealer took as a demonstrator when it finallly arrived first week of January 2011 and sold it within a week for £25k, a full £3k more than I would have been paying. Will definitely wait for the car but must admit I am getting really p---ed off. The car, the VAT free & interest free deals are too good to lose now. Not a better deal out there right now on any other similar cars, it is just the wait that is the problem!! Skoda Uk have told me that I should get it by the 6 month point - not going to hold my breath lol. NOT the customer service Skoda UK seem to keen to brag about in their brochures and advertisements. Can't fault the dealers Thompson & Potter at Burrelton in Perthshire they are just as frustrated as I am and were up front that it could take 6 months for the car to arrive but they don't know if this is accurate or if it could take longer. They are being up front with people and losing loads of orders from people unwilling to wait!!
  10. Maybe Skoda should concentrate on being able to deliver the orders they have right now, 6 month plus waiting times are a joke, the quote "learn to walk before you try to run" springs to mind!!
  11. I hope I'm wrong for your sake but I think your delivery date will jump around the first date they give is provisional and the date is only set in stone one week before the build is due to start. As i said my problem isn't with the wait it is what it is, all I want is Skoda to be up front with me and tell me what the problem is!!
  12. Octavia Scout DSG ordered 27 November 2010 - no delivery date yet, dealer guessing 6 months, May / June delivery. China and mainland europe taking priority I was told by a VW Dealer for 2.0 TDI CR diesel engines.
  13. I have an Octavia Scout on order since 27 November 2010, still no build date and dealer and Skoda UK are telling me delivery could possibly be as late as June/July 2011. My wife is looking to buy a VW Tiguan and has been told they are also 6 month wait due to orders stopping on old model, orders for new Tiguan early summer for delivery in August!!!!!!!!! Seems like engine supply is the problem (2.0 TDI CR and DSG box, this is what the VW salesman told us, UK is suffering whilst engines are diverted to mainland europe and China because they are bigger markets for VAG. I can accept the wait but Skoda UK not giving clear factual reasons for the UK delays is annoying me, all you get is rumour on the net. Skoda uk also seem unwilling or incapable of getting updated information from the factory!! I have an order number from the factory so you would imagine with modern production control processes that they would be able to forecast a build date however long that may be.
  14. I have an Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI CR DSG on order from Mid November, still haven't got a proposed build date, never mind a confirmed one!! Latest from the dealers who are as frustrated as I am is that the order has been accepted by the factory, but that is as much as they can find out. Spoke to Skoda customer services who don't know anything else and seem to be incapable of contacting the factory to get clarification. Have been told by dealer and skoda uk that it will probably be June or July 2011 before it gets built!! Anyone else having the same problem?? Got told by a VW dealer that the delay is due to most of the available 2.0 diesel engines being diverted to the chinese market at the expense of european deliveries and orders. Think Skoda uk owe customers waiting a factual explanation as their literature and web site still say they can deliver in 10 to 12 weeks. This is patently untrue!! My dealer tells me that they are now losing custom due to the long delays. What happened to the world beating customer service Skoda UK boast openly about, they haven't answered any of my questions??
  15. I ordered a manual Scout in June 2010 but whilst waiting delivery the DSG box option became available so I cancelled the manual and ordered a Scout with DSg Box. The dealer took my initial order as a demonstrator. If you are after a good spec Scout with manual box as your company car check out Thompson and Potter @ Burrelton. Car is advertised on the Skoda Used site too.
