  1. Hi all, Just driving home from work and the engine warning light came on. When I got home scanned with vcds lite and got the following code: 17545/P1137/004407 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Rich Now Ive checked the wiki and searched the forum and am aware there are things I need to check. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17545/P1137/004407#Possible_Solutions http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Fuel_Trim_Info My question is if after a cursory check of all the pipework etc, if I cannot see an obvious problem should I clear the code and see if it comes back before taking further action such as replacing maf or dv or whatever? Im a complete newbie when it comes to vcds having only used it to enable cruise control so far. I drive an Octy Vrs mk1 02 plate. Many Thanks Paul
  2. Could you give us an idiots guide on how to find and check this please. Yours Gratefully Idiot
  3. Hi all, Quick question. Will the aero wiper arms for the Passat Mk6 B5.5 fit the Octy Mk1? Couldnt get any part numbers for them.
  4. I really am a plum!! lol It was the bulbs thanks :D
  5. Hi all, Lower brake lights aren't working. Checked the fuse thats ok. Removed the brake light switch, cleaned, reset and put back. Still no joy. Any other ideas at what I could check? Would I be right in assuming its not a faulty brake light switch as the top light wouldnt be working if it was? Thanks Paul
  6. Hi all, The part number for the Audi strut brace for octy mk1 vrs is 8N0805629A. My question is does the part number 8N0805629B also fit? Looks the same to me... Regards Paul
  7. Thanks for the reply. The reason I ask is I am planning on driving 3000 miles over a 3 week period this summer and was wondering whether this map might pay for itself? Regards Paul
  8. Hiya, I am well tempted by this... Can anyone tell me what mpg I could expect after a stage 1 map on an unmodified octy vrs mk1? I'm going to be driving approx 3000 miles over a 3 week period in the summer and am interested if I can convince 'her indoors' that this is a good idea. Regards Paul
  9. Any reason you went for super pro instead of powerflex? Are they just cheaper?
  10. Oh well, most of my chrome has now come off anyway. Although Im starting to wish I hadnt bothered wasting all that bleach and time! Never mind. I bought plastic primer, black magic paint and clear laquor from halfords. I'll probably spray it this weekend so will post some piccies.
  11. I still have to keep my finger on lock to close and unlock to open, tbh Im happy with it like that.
  12. Ok, only lots of threads on this forum mentioned stone chipping and flaking paint due to not stripping the chrome/using the wrong primer.
  13. Hmmm, I have a T55. Would I be risking damaging anything if I used the T55?
  14. Haven't gotten around to it yet mate. Plus I've just realised I dont have one of those spline bit tool thingies so I will have to get one of those from somewhere before I proceed. I already had one of those usb>serial cables that I bought for the furby so I installed VCDS lite and enabled cruise control and auto close open windows on remote. I might have a look this weekend...
  15. What type of primer did you use Rob?
  16. I did consider covering mine in that carbon fibre covering, but decided that colour coding in black magic to match the rest of the car would look better. As far as selling my Octavia Vrs Mk1 never going to happen :D
  17. Do you mean you sanded all the chrome off. or just keyed the chrome plating for spraying? Also what primer are you using? As I have understood it if you do not remove all the chrome plating then you need to use acid etch primer.
  18. As far as I am aware its a DIY job only. Im in the process of stripping the chrome from my grill surround in a bucket of bleach. be warned though this takes ages to work, so far my surround has been in bleach for the better part of 2 weeks!! Still it should be finished in time for spraying at the weekend.
