Glad u have it resolved. I posted the same issue a couple of weeks ago - a corroded wire was found as the fault. I was also beginning to fear a costly ecu fault .

Hi all I have logged on this evening after experiencing ongoing issue with my 1.9T VRS (2004) and needs some help. The car failed to start a few week ago, AA cam out and fitted a new battery. Job done. 1 week later car fails to start again, AA back out advise the Alternator needs repacing. New Alternator fitted privately and car runs for 3 days then dies. New battery and new alternator yet issue remains. Has anyone experienced this before. Power steering cut out whilst driving today before i nursed her to a stand still. She then would not start! Any advise would be appreciated, Regards Gesus
