After 6 months of waiting for my Superb , nearly 5 months of driving it , 7k miles, 2 warranty claims and lots of love for this car :love:, I'm having to give it back to the lease company Leaving the company I have worked at for 17 years and 7 months is a wrench, but giving back my Superb is going to be the hardest thing out of all of it. FYI, the 2 warranty claims were for; Faulty MDI unit giving really bad sound from the iPod or iPhone connected to it. The electronic boot struts failing and then bending in half as I had to force the boot closed. Don't do that as it's a £600 parts price + VAT and labour. I've tried everything to get one second hand local and with reasonable (e.g. non minicab mileage on it) and a price I can afford. Sadly it was not to be so I've ended up with a Ford Mondullo :(. But as least I can start building up my no claims bonus and saving for another Superb. So it's Goodnight from me, for the time being. Thanks for all your advice and help along the way I've really appreciated this forum and the friendliness of everyone here. You are all too !

Hi Folks, I'm just about to leave my company and will have to give up my company car ('11 Superb Elegance Estate DSG. 2.0d Estate with lots of toys.) Seen this in the paper and wondered if people had an opinion on the price being asked. Having given the chap a call, it's had two owners and was a demo model before being sold to a private owner. Now taken in P/X it's been shifted to a trader to sell on. I think I can get it for £3,500. Is that about right?

They were taken right from the original CDs and then converted to MP3 192Kbps. They sound fine through the headphones, aux in, from the sd card, or the HDD. Just terrible from the Ipod through the MDI cable. Also tried other music from an iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4. Both terrible.

Hi Folks, Long time no speak. Been out driving my amazing Superb. I just love the fact that everyone who gets in it is blown away by the sumptuous quality and space. Ha Ha Ha, but you already know that. I'm having an issue with the MDI interface and my iPod. I have the upgraded sound system and it sounds TERRIBLE. It's fine if I'm using a phono lead but if I plug it into the MDI cable it sounds really quite nasty. Has anyone else had this problem? TimsterC ;o)

I'd like to see a piccy of that. Sounds like it might look rather good.

Having spoken to James, I have finally got the seats to match to a key. Process as not described very well in the manual, should read something like this. For KESSY. Turn on ignition but not engine. Get seat to right position. press and hold memory button and desired number until a chime is heard from the car (Within the next 10 seconds) turn off ignition open door press the UNLOCK button on the key. (you should hear another chime from the car) Repeat process for other keys and seat positions.

Disclaimer: My Skoda is a company car and the lease is for 3 years. I have every intention of buying this car at the end of the lease so I have added enough toys to it. My lease company is Leaseplan and they just take your order, send it to the dealer and then tell you to go speak to the dealer. The Dealer was Jewson's in Oxford. (More about them later) Car Spec: Superb Elegance 170 DSG, Sunset glass, Hill hold control, Parking assist, MDI, iPhone and USB MDI cables, Heated windscreen, heated washer nozzles, Tow bar and electrics, Rear side airbags, KESSY, Black Magic pearl paint, 3 spoke steering wheel (with gear shift paddles (I know, I'm a child!)), electric boot operation, auto dimming rear view mirror & full size spare wheel Story: Went and collected my Superb from the PDI site at Greenham Common. Stuart at Jewson's is shifting loads of Skoda's at the moment and he was more than happy to discuss options with me before I settled on the final line up. He also made it very easy to talk to him about the delivery date of the car which was fairly fluid and came forward quite a bit when I offered to come an collect the car. Normally for company cars they have to deliver them to the ungrateful clientele. I want to publicly thank Stuart @ Jewson's as he was very helpful and very kind to allow me to pick it up on a weekend on my route to the M4. So the morning came of the pickup and we got to the PDI site just after 9am. Stuart was there and so was my new Superb. Parking my BMW 320d Touring next to it was quite funny. I never thought the BMW was small until you see them side by side. Stuart took about 30 minutes to show me round the car and how everything worked, including a demo of the parking assist. Oh boy did that freak me out the first time you sit there and let the car steer for you. Then it was off on holiday for a week with the new car. We set off Butlins at Minehead by going out through Newbury and then along the M4, M5 and then cross country through Bridgewater. When I filled up at the fuel station in Newbury and gave the mileage, the lady behind the counter laughed when I said "10" miles. (For those that have never used a fuel card, you have to give the mileage and registration each time you fill up) I got my iPhone4 to Bluetooth pair up with the car first time and plugged it into the MDI socket. Set the Sat Nav (7 digit postcode) for Butlins and off we went. I have to say that as a motorway monster this car is awesome. The B pillar is not in the way and the mirrors are massive. You can see EVERYTHING going on around you and this is a very good thing on our congested motorways. The upgraded sound system works great and the sound is nice and neutral for me. The Bluetooth sounds stuff is getting a bit annoying as whenever I unlock the iPhone for anything it thinks I'm going to play music with it and the Columus unit turns off the radio and waits for the music from the iPhone. (Can I stop this happening?) This being the first automatic car I have owned I'm still getting used to the auto gearbox and the delay in getting more power. I have to say that the DSG is very smooth and I guess any other style of auto is going to feel clunky after this. The KESSY system is also a little strange but I'm getting used to that and it's very useful combined with the electric boot opening. Walking across the car park at B&Q the other day with arms full of stuff, opening the boot from 20 feet away so it was open by the time I got there was great. Closing it by just pressing the button is great too. By the time you have sat in the drivers seat the boot is closed and you know it's sealed shut with no slamming of the boot lid. Back to the KESSY stuff, It's very cool to walk up to the car and just open the door, BUT there are two things that are bugging me. 1, Can I use KESSY to open all the doors if I want to? At the moment I have to open my door and then press the lock button on the inside of the door to let the wife in. I also don't want to lose the ability to open just the driver's door if I'm on my own. So before someone say, just change the door unlock options, it's not that simple. 2, Does anyone know how to pair the key to the memory seats? I've tried what it says in the manual and I can't get it to work. Anyone else got this set up and still got their sanity? MDI, why oh why is it in the smallest part of the centre console? Is it to make it really difficult for men with real size hands to get the cable out? It's just a niggle but it's really annoying me. Everything else I love. I really like the Themisto wheels. Easy to clean and really cool looking. I might get time to take pictures later today and post, but it will look like everyone else's Superb ;o) TimsterC

I seemed to go for everything you are asking about. I have used the parking assist (PA) a bunch of times in the last 4 weeks (how long I've had my Superb). Because the Superb is such a long car and I'm crap at parallel parking it was a must have for me. It's not touched a curb yet and it seems to get very nicely into the curb. Closer than I could ever do. Sound upgrade is very good. I know there are threads on here about people who have done it themselves but I think it sounds great with the upgraded sound. Sunset glass is not as dark as some (e,.g. Ford's Mondeo) and you can see out fine. It's dark enough to keep it pleasant inside. I've not noticed this Hill Hold Control working yet. Guess I've not stopped on big enough inclines yet to notice it.

I ordered my Superb 2.0d (170) DSG back in December with pretty much EVERY option I could find apart from luggage nets, raised boot floor and 6 disc CD changer. I've been told Build week 11 (which is this week????) Dealer has said that it can take 2-7 days from factory on a TRAIN to Ebden, Then onto the boat and to the UK (2 days) then on a transporter to your dealer. (2-3 days) My dealer thinks they can turn my Superb around in a 1 day and it has a dealer fit tow bar to go on it too. He thinks that I can have the car 8th April on my way to a holiday. I'm looking forward to that. Driving my new car across the country. That's going to be awesome. He has also promised me that it will have that version 7 sat nav stuff and the disc in the car.

Wow, thanks folks. I can't wait. I get to call the dealer next week to confirm it's built and arrange a delivery/pick-up date. Oh and the camera will be fully charged with a fresh memory card in there ;o) Thanks again for all the info/ideas TimsterC ;o)

I ordered my Superb with my lease company and have just spoken to the supplying dealer in Oxford. They are predicting a week 10-11 build and delivery on or around 15-April-2011. I guess we'll have to wait an see now.

I'd also give Samsung an email asking them if they have heard of it. There are loads of hidden menu options on phones that you just don't know are there. I have a Blackberry and last week someone showed me how to get to a completely new set of menus for security settings.

So I finally made my mind up and went for the Superb. Here is the full list of what I ordered. I had my Blackberry (BB) connected to the car using rSAP, but it won't connect now. I've tried reconnecting it bit it never accepts the BB again. Search for a device, finds BB Asked to enter something like 5555 6666 7777 8888 on the BB. Enter the digits Get asked to accept a BT connection from SKODA_rSAP Accept connection on BB Skodia is still saying enter digits and never moves on Is there any way to remove the user profile it set up the first time I connected? I think it might help is I start with a clean slate. Anyone else seen this? Or can someone tell me how to get around it?

That could be a huge problem for me, as mine is a company lease and I'm not allowed to pay for any options on the car, I have to get them in with the lease. If it's a dealer fit option then I had one on a Mondeo I drove at the beginning of the year and it was great. This was a nice to have, but it's becoming a 'should I bother' option.
