  1. Update. Somehow the audio settings are now being remembered between different keys. The gearbox seems to remember the Eco setting now despite mode being normal and display showing D. It now freewheels in D. The audio settings was what was annoying me most so pleased that now works. Just a shame it doesn't sound great.😧
  2. I'm very underwhelmed with the Canton as well. I had it in my Octavia and was really pleased with that. The Karoq is just a bit harsh.
  3. Following on from my previous thread interested to see how other members Karoqs function.
  4. I'm beginning to wonder as well, will have a chat with the dealer and/or Skoda UK to clarify. Either my car has a fault or Skoda information is very misleading. P66 in manual tells me The personalization feature allows each vehicle key to be assigned a user account. In the user account, settings can be assigned regarding e.g. light function, driver's seat and exterior mirror position, assistance systems, radio, navigation, etc. The Karoq configurator tells me : Driving Mode Select will change the car’s character on a single push of a button to meet your current preferences. Do you want to drive sporty, float comfortly or save fuel? With Personalisation, three different keys for three drivers memorize all the settings for each one.
  5. Didn’t have electric seats in my Octavia & it worked. If it can’t be done what on Earth is the point of this option?
  6. Thanks for replies, kind of get the mirror settings not working but surely the audio settings should be?
  7. I have had my new Karoq 1.5 SE-L DSG nearly 2 weeks now. I added the personalisation option as I had this function on my Octavia and found it very useful. I have finally managed to set it to recognise when it is my key or my wifes key being used: name changes in display. However that is all that seems to change, it doesn't remember audio settings, mirror position etc. Am I missing anything obvious? It was all straightforward in the Octavia. I do not have electric seats as I gather that could have some influence. P66 in handbook states it should do: The personalization feature allows each vehicle key to be assigned a user account. In the user account, settings can be assigned regarding e.g. light function, driver's seat and exterior mirror position, assistance systems, radio, navigation, etc. Can anyone confirm if they are able to store audio & mirror settings against their key & any advice on how to do it? many thanks
  8. I sadly damaged OSR light on my 2017 Octavia hatch, looking online loads of places sell replacement light but none match part number on mine. My part number is 5E5 945208A the ones I see listed have part number 5E5 945112A. any experts know if this is compatible? many thanks
  9. I'm sure there is no SIM slot. The manual shows it should be between the SD card slots.
  10. I've got Columbus in mine & there is no SIM slot so connectivity purely via my mobile data connection. So you are correct in your logic that remote locking won't work.
  11. Does make sense now I think about it, doesn’t explain why it used to but we will see how it behaves now. Many thanks
  12. I’ve got my car play working again. I turned my phone off, plugged into the car & allowed that to boot the phone. The phone was then able to find my car & allow it to connect. However it now appears to have lost the BT connection. If I disconnect the USB cable the phone happily connects via BT. Wish I had never bothered with the iOS 11 update, apart from issues with car connection the phone is so slow to do anything now. I am going to try wiping the phone & reinstalling to see if that will improve things.
  13. I did try another cable earlier, made no difference. I've got a few cables kicking around, a mix of genuine & approved. Will try again tomorrow, see if I have any luck.
  14. Thanks, but checked earlier & no updates available. Anyone know how to reboot the Columbus unit, might be worth a go?
  15. Having same problem here, Iphone 6 & 2017 Octavia. Worked lovely on IOS10 & now wont work at all. Just updated to 11.2 today in the hope that would cure but sadly not. I've deleted my car from settings>carplay & it won't detect again. Fudging rubbish :(
  16. I use the Skoda OneApp quite a bit. Its pretty good in logging your journeys & giving you some nerdy stats about how far you have been & MPG. Downside is you have to connect via USB cable & it doesn't always work. Many is the time I have driven somewhere with phone plugged in only to find it hasn't recorded anything. Another minor annoyance is that when the app is updated you need to remember to re-enter your login details. If you don't it won't work & doesn't give any warning either. I have tried most of the other apps. MySkoda slightly useful: it gives a link to the manual & links to your calendar. I don't bother with SkodaConnect, mainly because it used up most of my data when I connected my phone. Might give it another try as I have a higher data allowance now but I don't think I am missing much. The other Skoda apps either simply wouldn't work or just had no interest to me. Have fun trying them!
  17. I had 1.6 elegance manual & recently got 1.4 DSG in SE-L trim. I wish I had gone for a DSG box years ago! So smooth, gearchanges barely detectable. Also much prefer the petrol over the diesel engine, again very smooth & quiet + more than enough performance for me. Fuel consumption not as good as the diesel but so far I've been averaging high 30's around town. I like the SE-L trim & thought it worth going for
  18. So, had another look at this. Unlocked car & turned on with my wifes key. Her key not recognised still says welcome to me. If I select her name with the scroll wheel the playlist changes and the interior door strip lighting changes colour to indicate it is my wifes settings. Tried disabling the personalisation settings & then reenabled but still not working. It all looks fairly idiot proof so don't know what else to try. Any ideas gratefully received, many thanks
  19. I've done this already but i still have to select user by scrolling. Just had a thought, is the key detected when the door is unlocked or when the ignition is turned on? When I have been trying I have unlocked with my key & turned ignition on. Then turned off & tried my wifes key. Will give it a try tomorrow unlocking with her key & turning ignition on.
  20. Can anyone confirm that the user changes when that users key is used. I have been playing around but it only changes user if you use the scroll wheel when the ignition is turned on. Thats not particularly clever, surely it will just recognise the key. Am I missing something?
  21. Just been having another look at manual, have you enabled "data transmission for external devices" see P172 Interestingly it also says it will connect over Wi-Fi, need to have another look at my setup as I can only get it to work on USB.
  22. Does anything happen when you select smart link on the car screen?
  23. I'm the same, seen the ad where you can flash indicators & sound horn. Think you would need one that has a data sim so the car has an internet connection. The only way to connect is via your phone & thats in your pocket when you are away from the car. The Skoda ad is a bit misleading.
