Afternoon I have a 2013 Fabia VRS, with a DSG gearbox. I heard a bang which seemed to have come from the gearbox area, but the car drove ok. Yesterday it decided it didn't want select any gear and then the "gearbox overheating" light came on with the very strong smell of burning clutch. I've never had this happen before and wanted to know if this is the sign that one or both of the clutches had failed? How much to would be to get repaired? Does it have to be done a the dealer? Thanks guys I'm looking at the maintenance / service plan for the car. I'm getting on PCP, and the millage will be high every year, so want to protect myself as the plan covers everything from exhaust to brake discs / pads and clutch / gearbox, this is whats at the back of my mind, it would probably save me in the long run with the millage I'm doing I've not been told what this plan will be, but will let you know

Good after everyone. I'm selling my 2008 Pre Facelift Octavia VRS, aand are wanting to find out what the original Specification was and what was put on as an optional exrtra. Has anyone know were I can get a copy on the original brochure (PDF) so I can go through it please. I've contacted Skoda and say it will take a few days for hem to send the info onto me. Incase anybody is wondering why I'm selling it, I'm taking delivery of a brand new one in a few weeks, but will be so sad to see this one go. Thanks for reading

I bought my Octavia VRS MKII last August from a Skoda Dealer in the North West, and had a terrible experience with them, however I am not willing to name at this stage as Skoda themselves are involved. I took my car to Crawley Downs for a major service, they were brilliant. I explained the issues we had had, and they checked all the Skoda systems to see if everything had been done on any recalls etc. The service department was great, very polite and got my car in when I wanted and a courtesy car. I got a call earlier than expected to say the car was ready. I have the car booked in next week to have it looked at, it looks like the Clutch Master Cylinder is leaking, and Skoda Warranty have said they will cover it. I will report back next week when I have the car back.

Finally, a couple of months ago, I got my new car, well new to me, 58 plate, Octavia Vrs. This is the 3rd Skoda in the family, and were really please with our new addition

Hi all, I'm new to the board. First of all, the site looks great. I friend of mine has a 2001 Fabia Elagence. The car has developed a little problem. The courtsey light on the bottom of the drivers door has stopped working. When the drivers door is open the interior light does not come on either, and the lights on left on alarm has stopped working. I've taken the door card off to see if there is any loose wires, but there isn't. I'm not sure if it's the door mecanism or not. Can anyone help please Thanks for your time John
