  1. Part number for Yeti beam deflectors: 5L2 941 981 Not cheap I'm certainly not suggesting you could use some mirror Fablon and a scalpel...
  2. Hello Yetters Having ordered four wheels and tyres from Mytyres the other day, I got curious about the steel wheels and what sort of standards they are supposed to meet. We know about the tyres because there's numbers and letters all over them. I emailed their support and asked the same. "Everything you need to know is on our website" came back the reply. Hmmmmmmm Anyways, I've looked at the new wheels and the numbers and letters stamped into them and they seem reassuringly Germanic. KBA 43733 is the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (Federal Motor Transport Authority) approval number. KFZ 9257 denotes Skoda Superb. Happy now
  3. This any good? http://www.mytyres.co.uk/Steel_wheels.html
  4. Only Nokians I can see (based on most powerful 4x4 Yeti) are 205/55s at £132 ish per wheel...
  5. Opinion on the internet seems to be that winter tyre prices are pretty constant, summer or winter. So how about Mytyres "Summer Holiday Discount" promotion? http://www.mytyres.co.uk/Steel_wheels.html Fill your boots Regards Nigel
  6. I bought one of these and I have to admit I took it to the tip (I didn't want to inflict it on another Yeti owner)! If I'm correct, they have two types, one for the spare wheel and one for sans spare wheel, but it's not obvious which is which on the website. I guess I bought the wrong one as it slid around the boot like Torville and Dean and I got into a silly argument with Towequipe. Perhaps adding something grippy to the underside would improve matters (some 2" self-adhesive hook Velcro for instance). Towequipe told me the Yeti comes with a choice of spare wheels; the full size and a skinny spare, which is ******** as far as I know. I bought the Skoda rubber mat which is just dandy, although I would ideally like raised edges along the back and sides. I hope your boot tray fits the bill
  7. Thanks folks. That answers that one. My Modus came with a separate box of wheel bolts for the steel space saver spare. I thought it might be something to do with mixing your materials. Cheers...
  8. Hello peeps Whilst we're on the subject of steel wheels for your winter rubber, what is the thinking on alloy wheel bolts for steel wheels, or are we already using steel wheel bolts? Hmmmmmm. Steel versus alloy strength, torque wrenches, bimetal galvanic corrosion and all that stuff...
  9. Ooh, I know, I know. Me me me "guide loop" = strip of fabric on port/starboard outer seat backs with a snap fastening/ popper. Manual assumes you have your rear seatbelts running through these. "opening of the wheel housing" = slot in port/starboard wheel arch plastic to accomodate the blunt end of your seat belt tongue. A parking place for your seat belt, if you like.

Point taken. Those Slavonic wenches didn't strike me as CAMRA members either...

I think the idea is to smash the light to get access to the key. Best make it the right indicator so you stick your arm out the window for hand signals! ...and I did get a locksmith to break into the Yeti using a pick, with no nasty after effects.

I walked to the Cwellyn Arms immediatly after locking my key in the car to celebrate and bought an unusually revolting pint of beer. So much for real ale!

  14. RENAULT, yes RENAULT Modus. Same thing. Front off. £90 a time. I did it myself the first time... but then it was during the summer.
