  1. Had to buy a 4x4 for work purposes so have sold my superb. Guess who bought it, yes a taxi driver. Bought an Isuzu d-max (rodeo in the U.K) crewcab. I'd just like to say thanks for the help that i got from all on here whenever I needed it and I will be back in the future as when I don't need a 4x4 any more I will buy another skoda. Cheers folks.
  2. Could be worse, you could have extra water in the passenger footwell.
  3. Is this common. My front right c.v disintegrated all over the road yesterday and had not been clicking/cracking/knocking at all? Does this suggest a bigger problem?
  4. Best of luck with her and I hope she munches the miles for you without any troubles.
  5. I take it from the name Carroll you are in Ireland. If so a ccm costs about €270 + V.A.T. It is located under the passenger seat, under the carpets. I would try everything else first before buying one of these. It could be two separate problems. Pop the cover off the boot lid and see is the motor in the boot lock knackered. These cost only about €35 + V.A.T. The central locking could be a problem with a key fob. Hope you get sorted easier than I did. If your car is 04 or earlier Clara cars in Kilkenny have a second hand ccm at about €80 but get the chassis no. of the car it came from and get a dealer to cross check whether it will suit. Parts dept. in Aughrim motors did this for me. Hope this helps.
  6. Very same symptoms as I had for water ingress. Are any interior lights flickering or even the ones under the wing mirrors or in the door cills not working? These are common symptoms of water ingress too. Check the carpets in the footwell on the passenger side for dampness. If they are damp get your chequebook ready it could mean a new convenience control module.
  7. Me too once in four years. Haven't seen it in a year and a half though, thankfully
  8. At this stage of this problem I am beginning to think that the comfort control module that I put in (2nd hand) is causing these problems. Trouble is that I think the central locking shouldn't work off either the key or the zapper if the comfort control module is dead. Is this the case? Can anybody out there help me, I am pulling my hair out with this problem at this stage

  10. Hi there folks. I need to change a convenience control module in my superb. I have found a second hand one with the same numbers on the unit but a dealer says that mine has a 3 digit code of OBC while the second hand one I have found has a code of 007. He doesn't know if they are interchangable. Anybody able to shed any light for me?
  11. I have been on here about a week or so so I suppose I am not brand new. The dreaded water ingress problem in my 05 superb comfort led me here. Got some great advice too. I still haven't really got it sorted, almost there though I think, so I am having a love hate relationship with my skoda at the moment. Anyway, its nice to have somewhere to turn for advice when you are a total amateur spanner like me. So hello all briskoda members.
  12. I kind of agree. I am getting cruel hardship with my superb trying to fix problems after water ingress. The missus drives an accord sport, 08 old model 2.2 i-CTDi. Will be sticking with Hondas for the foreseeable future. Trouble is I love the superb but I just can't handle dealer attitudes to any queries that I have. Bar excessive rear brake wear the accord seems to be bullet proof, touch wood.
  13. I got super assistance on here before so I am back again. I thought I had fixed my electrical problems following water ingress. Here is what is still bothering me The boot still will not open on the button over the number plate, or from the release in the driver door. The light in the footwell of the driver side will not light when the driver door is opened The door open light in the dash is back on constantly The interior lights will not time out, they are staying on until (I think) the computer times out Anybody out there any ideas? Could it be a door lock? Is it possible that the computer maybe thinks that the boot is constantly open? I would be very grateful for any pointers of what to try.
  14. Yeah no problem syanide. Stripped out the plenum chamber, which was absolutely filthy. Threw away the grommets, removed the pollen filter housing, cleaned the whole area around it, sealed it back in using tiger seal. That was the easy part. Found my convenience ecu swimming in a pool of water. It was knackered. I found an equivalent one in a breakers yard 120 miles away, so off I went to collect it. Cut all the wires back about 18 inches from the ecu and rejoined them in. Along with this I had to repair two wires in the loom. Unfortunately I needed to get main dealer help. The ecu needed to be programmed to my car which I didn't expect. All cost me €140 for ecu main dealer and all. Not too bad imo. Thanks again syanide.
  15. Problem sorted. Love my superb again. Thanks for all the help lads. Really appreciate it.
