Thanks guys for your help. Paul, things are all pointing towards the TB. Will swap another car's TB on it and check it. If it works will get the TB replaced.

Throttle body has been cleaned for this problem. But no joy...

Checked the Diagnostics. Getting error code: 1) 17705 2) 17579 P1171 Angle sender 2 for throttle valve drive G188: implausible 3) 17972 P1564 Throttle SPoradic: Valve Control Part J-338 Insufficient Voltage during basic setting 4) 17967 5) 16684 P0300 Random Multiple Cylinder: Misfire detected All cylinders are misfiring. Any further suggestions after looking at the above.

Thanks. Definitely sounds right. Update to the problem, I just did a longish drive on the car (its my cousin's car), and the car definitely reacts like you said. Also I throttled up the car in neutral, and the engine first cut off at 6000 rpm and if i let off a bit and press the pedal again the engine crosses the redline and hits 7000 rpm + at the end of redline. Also if I acclerate gradually then the problem at 3000 rpm does not occur.

Hi, I have a MK1 vRS, which I got remapped recently (The guy tells me it was Custom Code remap) I have now been experiencing a strange problem. If I go full throttle the car shudders and jerks crossing through 3000 RPM to 4000 rpm. The engine shuts of sometimes as well . I have had the fuel pump replaced twice. My mechanic feels its the clutch, although the clutch feels fine and doesn't seem to slip. The mechanic suspects the cat converter as well. He felt that that is choked, so got that replaced yesterday, but the problem is still there. There was an EPC light sometime back, which was traced to a faulty sensor in the exhaust. Anyone has any ideas regarding what it could be and does someone suspect that the Remap is a bad one?

feels like pad sticking to me.the pedal is soft unless i give it a solid press.does a caliper need changing?

I've been getting this squeak, much like brake squeal from my vRS of late. The sound starts right after I have applied brakes, and continues as long as the speed is low. It goes away at high speed. The sound increases if I keep the wheel slightly turned to the right. Any ideas what it could be?

So there I am in my Octy vRS waiting for the light to turn green, enjoying the music and the weather. I'm first on the light, just as it turns green, I peel off, 2nd gear 100km/hr, and then my eye catches this little lizard sunning itself on my dashboard (lizards creep me out for some reason). Slammed on the brakes, swerved left and jumped out of my car....folks on the road thought I'm some sorta nut, and the bloody lizard promptly disappears inside the A/C vents. hope it doesnt die inside and stink up the car....I'll have to get the dashboard opened up... People think it's a hilarious story for some reason....not so funny when you happen to be in the car with a sunbathing lizard....

Thanks a lot guys. This helped a lot. Ordering the stuff tomorrow. Unfortunately most UK sites need to deliver the goods to the registered address of the Credit Card. So I would end up paying almost 84 pounds as shipping costs to India, however I would save VAT to the tune of 35 pounds.So that makes almost 50 pounds more. Anyone know of any place which can deliver to a local UK address while accepting a card registered to some other address? Also which place would have them in stock, as my friend who has agreed to carry them back is in the UK till the 9th. This wouldn't leave much time for back ordered parts...

The wheels are exactly the same as the standard ones in UK, except the size is 16". I beleive skoda refers to them as 16" spider alloys. Will that have enough space for 312mm.Don't really want to shift to 17" as the road conditions in India are not favorable for 17" wheels.

Eddy, You are right. Just got a mail from the modifier that only the Caliper Clamps have to be changed to fit 312mm disc under the the OE caliper. So I'm guessing that I can go ahead and order the predator pads PP312F. Is there a way I can cross reference the OE pad No. with the Black Diamond pads. The OE pad no for the fronts is : 1J0698151L

I found out that the vRS in India has 288mm brake discs under 16" wheels. I asked a couple of modifiers in India and they said that 312mm discs can be fitted under the OE caliper in India, but would need a adapter bracket. Can anyone tell mewhat kind of bracket is this and where can I buy one? Also the brake pads, will the pads for the Octy vRS in Uk fit the calipers of the vRS in India, or should I buy the Pads for the UK 1.8T 20v, which had 288mm discs fitted?
