  1. @Skoffski are you able to read/reply to PMs?
  2. Thanks Keith. Took delivery of some Eibach springs today so it won’t stay standard for long haha.
  3. Not sure if the track toy will be a keeper or not. I have a love-hate relationship with it at the moment. It’s great when it works but being old and French things break with alarming regularity.
  4. Hi George, Yeah the JCW was great! Had it very nearly 3 years and had a lot of fun. Met some great people at meets and shows too which was nice. Just fancied a change and needed to go back to a larger 5-door car really. I’d have another mini again at some point if I can. It was 100% reliable. The handling wasn’t up to much on track but as a fun road car spot on. Definitely impractical though! Became abit of a grind if we went out in it as a family at the weekend.
  5. I’m back... to resurrect the thread haha! Last week I said goodbye to my Mini JCW and picked up another M135i. I’d originally ordered a Golf R on a lease deal but changed my mind and got this beauty instead. Couldn’t resist a move back to RWD and a 6-pot engine, felt I had a degree of unfinished business with these cars after letting the grey one go in 2015.... Its a 2016 LCi/facelift M135i with a decent spec. ProNav, front and rear PDC, Heated Seats, comfort pack, ZF auto ‘box, speaker upgrade and a nice set of 19” Lightweight forged M-performance alloys. These were originally in a hideous polished chrome finish so I had them powder coated “Aston Martin Dark Anthracite”. Get that kleenex ready one more time lol...
  6. This is fantastic, looking forward to seeing the cars in action in the BTCC this year! Richard are there any plans for another Brisky Racing trackday in 2018, or will that have to make way for these other commitments?
  7. Springs and RARB are the best mods you can do to these. Transformed our vRS. We have the H+R
  8. Very nice! Collins are indeed very professional, they are about a 2 minute drive from my house as well :-) They have done an MOT before for me on my track car and I'm going there soon for a wheel alignment etc. I wonder if they could remap a later CTHE Fabia vRS? I'll look out for your Fabia around Cornwall! Think I might have spotted it once or twice before.
  9. Little video I put together of our day. Apologies for the Clio-heavy content but contains various footage and pics of other people's cars too
  10. Did you not hear the Clio then? ;-) https://youtu.be/2O0h6qECAJA
  11. Sorry to hear of this. Are they refusing the warranty claim because they say it is a known fault, or because they suspect you knew there was a problem with your engine before you took out the cover? If it's the former that's pretty outrageous and essentially means their extended warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on! Ive a feeling once someone more senior and sensible gets involved from SUK then it will all get sorted in your favour.
  12. Thankyou Richard. Had an amazing day, weather was perfect and such a good track to get to grips with! One of our favourite track days so far. :-)
  13. Just be aware if you fit uprated / stiffer engine mounts you will be potentially introducing a lot of vibration into the cabin.
  14. Very odd the lack of people having CTHE maps. Id be tempted to do ours if I thought it might be up to it but on balance think I'll be leaving it alone. There doesn't seem to be a lot of people modding these anymore (if the huge amount of tumbleweed blowing through this section of the forum is anything to judge by lol) so I guess the market is pretty small.
  15. Not tried them yet but you are absolutely right. Some tyres have softer sidewalls than other brands. Going from 205 to 215 in the same tyre is unlikely to make much of a difference in that area though. We swapped from the stock continentals on 205/40 17 to Goodyear Eagle F1s Assymetric 3 on 215/40 17 and traction/handling/refinement/ride were all that little bit better. But that could be more down to the better rubber /tyre design (imho) rather than the trivial increase in width :-) You'd need to do a like-for-like comparison really
  16. Sorry but I've got to laugh at some of the comments on this thread. 215s looking worse, having "squishier" bulging side walls and rolling more is total nonsense imho. As George points out the sizes are a guide only and vary so much between tyre manufacturers etc. The 205 NS2-Rs on my Clio are wider than the 215s on my Mini and similar to the 215s on our fabia. Sidewall stiffness will also vary between different tyres, totally independent of width. In reality there is only a very tiny difference between 205 and 215 on a Fabia. Given the choice for me it makes sense to go for 215s where you can but the main thing is to get decent quality rubber.
  17. Its a bolt with a hole/channel in the middle to flow fluids down e.g brake fluid :-)
  18. Haha no worries Dave, you have first refusal on it
  19. Straight swap Mick! No issues with rubbing etc. Definitely not overly low. For value these springs are excellent. I'd rather have this setup than cheap coilovers. I'm sure getting proper coilovers (i.e spending £700+) would yield better handling, but that's quite a step up in cost.
