Its just a humble 1.5 SE

2 days on and I am still finding things….or not. Thus time can anyone help as I can find nothing in the manual. On the virtual cockpit set on Sport there is an icon bottom left looking like a windcreen wiper in action. Then there is a bar next to it which indicates with a moving green bar figures that go up and down from 0-10 marked in kW. Any ideas what that might be?

I took delivery today of my SE 1.5 I particularly wanted to use the auxiliary air heater to warm up on cold mornings. Reading the online manual in advance I expected to receive a remote for it but there was non supplied. The icons supposed to show in the infotainment are not there either but there is something checked about automatic function of the auxiliary heater with no explanation. So it seems I might access it through the My Skoda app. So I registered it and went to the car with both keys as directed, input email and password but all that happens is it says activation in progress and nothing happens. What have I got wrong please?

I have a 1.5 Leon on lease now but will buy an Octavia when lease ends in April. I am looking at 1.5s but is a one litre up to it and worth considering?

Got mine off eBay for about £25. It is thick moulded plastic and had as anti sip insert. Brilliant. There are plent on eBay, I just checked.

I am a convert to Nitro plus diesel and use it regularly. I will also use nothing other than Nitro plus petrol in my old Triumph Spitfire, it runs much better on that than any other fuel. In the 140 Elegance FL estate it is amazing. Much smoother and quieter. I regularly drive between Luton and Leeds or Manchester . There are miles of 50 mph limit roadworks so cruise control is used. Anyway on Morrissons fuel I would normally see on average, about 58 mpg on this run. On a tank of Nitro plus this week I saw 71 mpg for a while but the overall trip average was 66 mpg. If you do the sums a tank full is only a few pounds more so to me the benefits are well worth it.

I very just had Inspection Now! Come up each time I turn on. Did not think it was service related but apparently it is. I have long life oil and it was serviced in September at 10 k miles. It is now 19k miles. Service booked for Wednesday.

I have July 13 Elegance estate 140 facelift and I too have this problem, highlighted thanks to this forum and my first tape renewal. I am with the original poster. I contacted DVLC who advise getting written details from Skoda confirming the error. I am talking to the dealer tomorrow first though. They asked me to call after an email. I am not expecting miracles and if Skoda says mine is 121 that is what it will be. No point in fighting but no harm in persuing for a bit.

I find the brakes on my 140 Elegance estate are very sharp. I had an Octavia for 9 years and find myself braking too hard in the Superb. Just needs a touch.

Ahh, I thought the shark fin was an aerial though. But makes sense.

On my Elegance estate facelift the rear quarter windows appear to have heating elements in them. But they do not heat up. Is this normal? The heated windscreen and back screen work beautifully.

If do 50 mph in my 140 estate I get an indicated 65mpg. I just returned from Edinbugh after an 870 mile round trip. I did 70 as much as possible and got 55.8 overall and on return trip.

My July 2013 Elegance has DAB.

I was with you until we got to the cutting out. On my previous motor an Octavia11 2.0tdi. I had it for 8 years and in that time it failed to start on about 6 occasions and churning away eventually got it going. No fault code shown. New fuel filter, no change. Eventually my future son in law who conveniently owns Total VAG in Leighton Buzzard came up with starter motor. Mine was running 50 rpm under spec. Changed it and had no more problems in the couple of years after until I got the Superb this year. Got a new battery at the same time as a precaution. Just a thought.

I find the treble rather harsh on my Superb 2013 using the tone controls. I would value an equaliser. This function is listed on page 25 of the manual after "acoustic feedback" whatever that is. Anyway on my unit that is the last listed function and I cannot find EQ settings or Surround as listed. Am I missing something? Anyone.

Have you sorted this? I just experienced the same and it turned out to be a knackered EGR valve. Air was escaping on acceleration. It sounded like a belt to me but Greig of TOTAL VAG in Leighton Buzzard soon diagnosed it!
