  1. Hi All, I have had a good search but cant find an answer. Of the two hub sizes available, (30 and 32 mm inner bore) does anyone know what size would be on a 56 plate TFSI vrs hatch? Cheers Eddy
  2. Heat shields behind the discs can be bent and make contact with the lower ball joint. This has symptoms like you are describing.
  3. Seems the groves and holes don't matter then, fewww didn't fancy doing the same job again. Bit worried still, from reading that it seems i might be a "self proclaimed expert on all things automotive" something i try (maybe not successfully) not to be haha.
  4. I didn't do the fronts on my car as i bought it with them fitted. But i did recently change the rear callipers and to bleed just used a length of hose on the nipple, 11mm (i think) ring spanner on the nipple, penetrating spray to losen it if its a little stuck, fresh fluid and a willing assistant to pump the pedal on command. Just did it the "old" way, open the nipple pump the pedal, close the nipple, repeat until there is no air left in the fluid coming out.
  5. You will need to bleed the brakes, bound to be some air that enters the system.
  6. http://www.mtecbrakes.com/brake_disc_fitting_bedding_in Just google this and found the above page. I could well looking at this wrong be looking at this wrong, but it appears the grove enters the caliper on the inside edge closest to the centre of the disc first. But a google image search shows them fitted on various cars in both directions. Starting to feel its not too crucial to how they work ha. But then again they are brakes so i do want to be sure...
  7. O i thought i had nothing to mess with this weekend, but maybe i do then haha.
  8. Here is a link to the guide, http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/43733-312mm-brakes-pictorial/?hl=+312%20+guide
  9. First off I'm not trying to be a smart arse ha..... but are these disc's on the right way, as in direction of the groves and holes, they look like the mtec ones I've just put on and if these are right mine are wrong. Not sure which is right, or if it even matters, but i do remember there was a piece of paper that came with them with directions about this that i very quickly lost.. Anyone got any help on this?
  10. I have used Ainley tow bars in halifax twice before and know many others who have too. All good experiences. http://www.ainley-towbars.co.uk All i can say is excuse the website haha.
  11. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/189942-pimped-my-golf-mk4-armrest/
  12. It is, just in the drink holder cubby with three self tappers on each side. There's a good thread on here, pimp my mk4 armrest I think it's called
  13. Through in a app radio and reversing camera Pulled out a old insurance black box a found and Gave the seats a front room wet vac Next up drop links, new rear callipers (silver a cheaper so had to paint them) and another good clean. So that’s up to date, I think hopfully not too dull…. Next up Cruise Control and some drilled groved front discs..
  14. So home wheel refurb attempt, one by one, had to keep the car mobile And about a week later… well done me L Did a little carrying , should of bought a van Played with the DA on my mums car… And on mine…
  15. New badges to replace the faded ones.. And new seat covers from the for sale section, And retrimmed the arm rest with the old ones Painted the front calipers (in the rain) And noticed the poor looking wheels so that was added to the todo list.
  16. Had a new battery and other stuff in too in this time but no pictures. Got some new mat holders in, and went to a local meet, failed at meet etiquette I think though and didn’t reverse in.. Met some friendly folk though and had a chat about cars. Next up console bushes, mine looked tired and original. Had poly buses in my old car and found them too harsh so decided for the cheaper cupra ones. Decided to fit a arm rest next, went for a black golf one off ebay, along with a new key badge, Next up a little off roading in dalby forest Had a go at sorting the headlight, so wet and dry followed by compounding. Fitted some new wipers and a briskoda sticker while I was at it I was lucky when getting this car that it had factory xenon’s, well I thought so….. Drivers side lamp was pointing at the floor. Couldn’t connect to the module to adjust them though VCDS. Started looking at the level sensor on the back axel , found a broken pin. Fitted a new one from a 2000 polo gti, fabia ones are hard to find and the original couldn’t be repaired. This did help and the lights stated self adjust but still couldn’t connect. Upon investigating the light though found the reflector had fallen out of the adjusters, looking at past mot’s t had failed for low beam for a few years running. Ended up with gluing it back as it kept on falling out.
  17. Thought it was about time I did a project thread, weather it will be interesting or not is up for debate. I started with a red SDI as a first car, crashed it….. Fixed it, there was a brief period where was abit harlequin while it waited for paint, but here is the end result After having that car about three years I bought my current car in about September 2013, a 2003 Fabia Vrs with about 111,000 miles, FSH. 312’s and a jabba RARB. No Big power plans just want a nice car to be happy with…. J Here it is after the first clean I gave it, and a rub down with black hole. First thing I did was get the cam belt and water pump done. Then get some roof bars for carrying my bike around, seen as towbars and permitted on the Vrs for what ever reason. Then after moving to south wales for a years work placement, noticed a knocking on changing gear, changed the dog bone mount with the car up on a kerb, great fun. Made the noise quieter but not fixed it totally, Next on the list was a little paint work, standard spoiler lacquer peel and a dint in the rear quarter, unfortunately I have not before pictures. I was not that happy with I really, should of complained but didn’t, o well, The spoiler was alright and has remained till not, but the rear quarter was just abit dull and had lots of this sort of crappy pain, Plates where messy so put some legal pressed plates on, tidied it up abit
  18. Awesome, sure they will sort it for you

  22. You wouldn't happen to be based in southampton? Just as my girlfriend learnt a Citygo recently, and she said the instructor passed a complementary comment about mk1 fabia vrs's.
  23. Looking at previous months I'm really excited to see what i get to have a go with! I did email BMD to arrange delayed delivery of my stuff, this was on a Sunday and i got a response with in half an hour. Good service And il steer clear of OCD box, until some better reviews feed though at least!
