  1. james, do a search on here for the 312mm brake upgrade is what you want. I've got them on mine & they are fantastic, will easily cope with the odd track session if thats your thing. enjoy. G
  2. thanks all for your comments... I guess some new disks & pads need to ordered in the new year.
  3. all, just had the car MOT'd & it seems the rear disks & pads have seen better days. I already have the 312 upgrade on the front. Was wondering what my options are as regards uprgading the rears from 232 solid disks to maybe 256 vented jobbies off a audi tt. !. does anyway have any experience of doing this upgrade? 2. what would i need, disks, pads, backing plates, calipers? 3. is there another type of upgrade that I should be looking at? 4. is it worth be spending the extra in terms of the benefit to the braking? any other suggestions or thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreicated. cheers G.
  4. all, having only fitted mine a few weeks ago, they are both single pistion but the ones for the 312mm are made by ATE & the 288mm were lucas... the piston is a lot bigger on the 312 compared to the 288. g.
  5. all, I've got standard suspension with the Jabba ARB fitted, it does really make a big difference. Nick should remember, the guys fitted it only about 6 weeks ago... g.
  6. all, any idea on what other bushes from cupra are worth upgrading on the furby! thought I might do the lot as I was going to get a strut brace but maybe now I've seen the light.... cheers g.
  7. all, it wasnt a VRS, it had wheel trims not even alloys...it doing 100plus when it went past me.... g.
  8. all, as I was making my way to work this morning, cruising at 75mph, I heard a police siren. Looked in the mirrors & to my surprise....saw a dark blue furby on a 54 plate giving it the big-one... as he went past me....I thought you myself...go on my son...!!! get them.... anyway else seen any furby's being used by the police....first one I've seen. made me smile... g. P.S probably ride shot-gun next time....
  9. guys, thanks for your comments & info.... track days here I come..... g.
  10. all, I've already fitted 312mm to the fronts which have helped a fair bit. I believe the rear's are 232mm solid disks standard but these can be upgraded 256 vented disks from a S3 or TT Quattro. has anyway done this on the forum & I guess how much & how difficult is it to do, what parts will I need... I don't want to go for any bigger front brake option as it seems I've have to change the wheels which I kind of like... any other advise on improving the brakes would greatly appreciated... !!!currently suffering from 'tuning bug' sod bird flu this is much worse...I cant bloody stop spending money.... g. P.S ARB fitted at Jabba a few weeks ago...top lads...& a great mod!!!
  11. fair enough it's an opinion....& we all can have one. I've got the intake as well..still dont see how 190 can be achevied just from a generic re-map.... best thing to do drive a few different cars with various maps & pick one that suits you best.. ...if something sounds too good then it usually is.... g.
  12. all, not sure if the BHP figures add up here. Celtic say 190BHP from a generic re-map & the AMD one click says up to 35BHP ie 130 to 165 max. & celtic is a bit aggressive but 130 to 190bhp seems very very ambitious....being polite!!! I've got custom AMD one clip plus ca tback miltek exhaust 172bhp & 290lbs on a RR a few weeks ago. think new labour spin doctors might be involved somewhere here........ g.
  13. great guide.... ross, you're a star.... does anyone know who does braided hoses for VRS ? & any thoughts what can be done to upgrade the rear brakes? is there a easy VW parts upgrade like with the fronts.......I'm hoping g.
  14. I would recomend a visit to the ring for anyone who loves cars or motorsport history.... having now done a few laps in wet conditions...i,e gently as various people with very little driving ability but large cash flows with flying out the circuit all the time.... why buy a 300bhp plus car if you dont know how to drive it properly.... 12.9 miles of heaven....it sounds like along way but it goes so quickley... definately up for going back there either later this year or next...it's got to be done. Ihoping to post some pictures of various exotic cars & smashes later this week. cheers g.
  15. yep, I did see 3 puma's on british plates....there was a racing puma there lovely...dont see many of them about....
