  1. Thank you for that. I will give it a try in daylight! it would be nice to be able to get the whole unit out to see if a foglight bulb holder could be fitted at the same time as we poor people with an E do not get any fog lamps!
  2. On first exploration of the DRL's. Question please how do the old lamps come out...Pull?? Twist?? with fat fingers and not being able to look in nothing seems to come apart Best advice welcomed!
  3. I don't think Steve came in until the Favorit was around, but he did not live too far away either!
  4. I have this morning spoken to Mrs Holder who's husband Dennis ran Sedgeberrow Motors They were Skoda dealers and in 1987 sponsored Entry No. 98 a Skoda 130L of William Stevenson/Ray Holland in the RAC Rally and in 1989 their son John was in Entry No 192 again in the RAC Rally in a Skoda 130L of Neil Burton/ John Holder. Neither car showed in the finishers list. The Garage closed when the by-pass was built.
  5. You have the right family now what was the surname..my memory has gone The garage was right in the middle of Sedgeberrow then after the by-pass was built they moved to the Winchcombe road Briskoda must have a historian who remembers the old Skoda network
  6. Long Memories...Graham.... that was Sedgeberrow Motors who sold and rallied proper Skoda's they used to beat up mini coopers with an old 120 Estelle I nearly bought a Rapid off them for less than £2,000 new!
  7. Surprised somebody bought a Yeti E ?? After a six months wait for a red Roomster Auto and no hope of a delivery date, that was all that was on offer as a red Yeti There were only two red Yeti's on the unallocated list at that time so it was an "E" or NO YETI No longer a surprise!
  8. Hetty the Yeti was named because it rhymed. A dear and very long standing friend of ours is also called Hetty and when we showed her the car she said "well my real name is Ester" ....That's no good "Ester the Yeti !" Botheration.
  9. Hetty the Yeti Navigator's console: an iTouch running GPS onto OS Maps Link to Yeti's iTouch
  10. I think I have been through the whole forum looking for the answer to a question a previous poster asked that is is possible to change the yellowish bulbs in the Yeti Daytime Running Lamps to white led's That topic went so far off topic that it nearly included their Great Aunt's cat. Question: Has anyone changed the Yeti DRL's to white led's Please
  11. Thank you rc_46 Wiring is not the problem it is getting a bulb to fix into the reflector How stupid can Skoda get to provide two decorative lamps which no one can use
  12. Get the car coded??? I am old enough to think Battery/bit of wire/switch/bit of wire/ Lamp/ bit of wire/earth.
  13. The Yeti E variant has no fog lights but appears to have a plastic blank in place of the bulb. My idea is to try and buy a couple of bulb holders and get them working. Question Please: has any E Owners tried this or even is there any other E owners!
  14. If you call up any of the shipping AIS (Automatic Information for Shipping) web sites and look at Emden you will see every day there is one or two car ferries bound for Sheerness or Grimsby Later that day they are in the UK , Next day they are back to Emden. The problem is knowing where your Yeti is. When my dealer looked for mine it gave the DB Railway wagon number en route to Emden
  15. To charge for fitting the wood dash for an existing customer is mean as it cannot be a 15 minute job I fitted the two wood trim panels in double quick time..... all you need is an old CD to tease the trim off and snap in the new see http://web.me.com/mjayland/Hetty_the_Yeti/Hetty_the_Yeti/Entries/2011/8/23_Wood_trim_strip.html
  16. James, You can follow all the mods/failures on http://web.me.com/mjayland/Hetty_the_Yeti/Hetty_the_Yeti/Hetty_the_Yeti.html
  17. Plumbers/ Builders Merchants/DIY open pipe clips self tapped screwed to the fold down section of the luggage compartment hinged cover. On Hetty this is felt/board material and takes the self tapping screw with the minimum of a pilot hole...simples Handle of Brolly end 28mm spike end 15mm but depends on your Umbrella !
  18. In previous vehicles the Umbrella was beneath everything else and invariably came out damaged, A friends Skoda Superb has an Umbrella Holder complete with Skoda Umbrella. So for Hetty the Yeti a new Skoda Umbrella and two pipe clips one 28mm an the other 15mm and attached the clips to the drop down portion of the rear compartment cover. Job Done! Everything in its place!
  19. One way for an iPod/iPhone is to use the Magellan mount which gives you GPS as well see http://web.me.com/mjayland/Hetty_the_Yeti/Hetty_the_Yeti/Entries/2011/6/26_iPod.html
  20. After a poor attempt at getting a Single Din Radio to work in Hetty the Yeti I have a Skoda single din mount and surround going free for anyone who wants it. Please PM me see http://web.me.com/mjayland/Hetty_the_Yeti/Hetty_the_Yeti/Entries/2011/8/18_Surround_fitted.html
  21. Be aware that many tyre centres will not repair a tyre once you have filled it with sealant so "its a new tyre, sir"... £150
  22. I have the large piece of dashboard trim. the small one I painted silver (badly) Please contact me see http://web.me.com/mjayland/Hetty_the_Yeti/Hetty_the_Yeti/Hetty_the_Yeti.html for pictures of the trim which was replaced by the fake wood trim.
  23. I think I saved one of those off my Estelle
  24. Great Yeti.. Thank you very much I could not have done it without your excellent guide. The SD card holder for the SWING Radio now sits discretely in the Glove Box
