  1. Have you seen this? Might lead to you getting the crap wheels replaced. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/159893-le-damaged-wheels-register/page__view__findpost__p__2274677
  2. Right Folks, Lets take this further Follow this link and fill out the form, it only takes 5 minutes. http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/gotastory/ Lets not let Skoda UK rip us off with sub-standard parts. And for the record when I first contacted my dealer to see about replacement under warranty I was told that the only thing he could do would be to offer me a new set (at cost) and gave me a quote for Zeniths as this was the part shown as being on my car at time of manufacture i.e. left the factory wearing zeniths so this problem is purely down to SKODA UK! Its starting to make me ashamed to have owned 2 skodas and bigged them up to friends and family. Please Fill in the form above Thanks
  3. cut open a bit of tubing and slip it onto the side of the glass and metal below then apply silicone.
  4. I acctually swapped to 16" Toyo Snow Proxes for my trip to france. 2000 mile round trip and they were ideal. ride was far better than the 18s and no difference on economy. wasn't pusshing it through corners just motorway driving maily but they gripped as well as made no difference. im concidering getting some all season and some winter tyres as summer tyres just dont like the rain we get.
  5. Been to see the nissan range to day and the juke is useless as a car or a 4x4. just not practical to anyone over 5 foot tall and people under that would need a ladder to get into it. was kinda taken by the quashqui
  6. Cheers for all the suggestions thus far. (Obvious and not so obvious) Spoke to the mother in law today about it and she likes the idea of something fairly level for getting in and out of. X type too low CRV too high (and its not a high 4x4!!) She also mentioned the Juke!! I've never seen one in flesh so may have to pay a visit to the nissan dealer to see if its just a laugh or what. I think A6, Superb, and Passats are probably too big for what they need but are defo an option if i cant persuade them to go small. C30 is probably too low but got me to thinking about volvos. how are the xc60? I did mention a yeti but she looked more confused than anything. think her driving a hairy ibominal snowman might be a step too far. but could take her to the garage and not tell her what its called just sit them in it... Cheers for the guidance, will be a busy weekend.
  7. My new inlaws are in the market for a new car and i've been asked to help them with the search. They're coming from a Jag X type. 2.5 Auto 4x4. They have 4 wheel drive as they didn't like slipping about in their old 5 series Criteria are Needs to be new (they like warrantys) Automatic Large enough for 18st father in-law (whose is 80 so needs to be accesible too) needs a bit of poke (used to 200bhp) don't want £400 road tax budget up to £35000 but i know a decent car can be had for a lot less. Although it needs a bit of stature. They also keep mentioning the word "downsize" (don't need a car almost 5m long. MIT's parking leave a bit to be desired) I'm going to have a job on my hands but i'm going to put them in a POLO and see what they think, then plan my next attack, maybe a peugeot 3008 and see just how brand snobby they are... So please make some suggestions as this list is nothing I look for in a car myself. Cheers
  8. If anyones any suggestions about taking things further than customer services then please advise, thinking about contacting the aa, rac, various motoring press see if we can get some pressure put on skoda uk. then seeking legal advise and at that point heading for small claims court.
  9. I've had my car into the dealers this week to have photos taken of the damaged wheels (5 of them) that I have suffered in just over 11000miles. These photos have been sent to Skoda customer services who have now reported back saying they have no record of any one else reporting problems with these wheels in the country. So if you have damage please take the wheels to the dealer and tell them you’re not happy. Also if need be speak to Skoda customer services (both Luke and john know about the problem) I've been told by the dealer that it is not a warranty issue and down to either driving style or external elements i.e. potholes... 1 bit of damage I would concede may be a pot hole but I have 5 wheels each with at least 2 bends in each (more in some cases!!) and now only have 3 of 5 of the wheels on the car as 2 won’t hold air! On hearing this I told them that was complete rubbish and not at all satisfactory so I would be perusing the matter further. Then got a call from the dealer next day to say they would replace the wheels (like for like) at cost price then send off my wheels for testing and if a fault is found I would be refunded the cost. Again I said that this was not the end of it as I would not put the same "soft" wheels on my car again and asked if they could replace with zeniths. Not heard back from them as yet. BASICALLY IF YOU'VE GOT DAMAGED WHEELS TAKE THEM TO YOUR DEALER AND PUSH THEM TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND WE MIGHT START GETTING SOMEWHERE. Can this thread be made sticky so all Limited Edition owners can see it Thanks Scott
  10. FFS, they'd have looked the dawgs if they did. Thanks for the quick response.
  11. Wondering If 18" x 8.5" with an ET 29 fit on my Octavia 2 VRS on standard suspension
  12. I've already bought a new wheel as it was leaking air. saw a little bend on the outside and it wasn't till i got the wheel off i saw a massive buckle in the back side of it. got it priced for re[air and was told the large one in the back would be £40 and the 4 small ones in the front £10each! Glad i bought a new one at that price. I certainly have 2 still with small buckles probably all 4 on the car, will check later, and one in a box in the shed with 5 buckles in it. Fact is Team Dynamics wheels just arn't up to much (well my old Pro Race 2's weren't either) I had 2 completly split and sent them back for testing and was told there was nothing structurally wrong with them!!! Swore to myself at that point i would never buy TD wheels again. Little did i know i was buying them on a standard car if Golf Ed30's can get BBS rims why can't Limited Edition Octys? Why did Skoda think it would be a good idea to put wheels half the price of the standard zeniths on the car. Hope we can get someting done about this as they clearly arn't fit for purpose. Scott
  13. use your neck muscles to support your head rather then pretending its a pillow
