  1. It's a 6Gb + download. You need to back up the existing files, delete on the SD card, download to another location on your device and once complete unzip to the SD card. Once completed just load into your SD1 slot, start the car and it will find the new maps.
  2. I have a boot buddy in my VRS hatch and I'm still undecided about it. The fit is only ok and move about if its on the carpet. It is a pig to fit together with a combo of 6 press-studs and velcro, I don't have mine in all the time and it takes up a lot of space to store. The fit along the sides is not great as mine is slightly too big to fit under the parcel shelf support. You do need some form of rubber mat as well otherwise pooch will be making like Bambi in winter. As far as keeping crap of your car it works but it has it's limitations.
  3. My 14 plate VRS diesel used 0.5l in the first 2000 miles and zero since, just had it's 1st service at 9000 miles.
  4. All Electric were my supplying dealer and the Sales side of things are fine, not withstanding the original salesman lied to me about the damage to the car (see separate post), those that followed were great and resolved the issue. However I booked my car in for it's first service on Saturday 11 April 2015 and told them I would wait with the car, I was advised to arrive at 0830 which I did, being the first person in the showroom. The service person was pleasant was expecting me and said the service would start straight away and would take 40 mins. I went to a local cafe returning at 08:55 and the car hadn't moved. Eventually the service was finished by 10:10 they hadn't washed the car but offered a voucher for a local "hand car wash", which I declined. I then tried to buy an emergency kit they had on special offer but unfortunately no one knew how to sell me one, so walked away empty handed. Unfortunately that will be my last visit to All Electric and I will give Central Skoda a try.
  5. Checked with the dog, he is grateful for the extra effort I made and said he would be cooler on longer journeys. After all that effort he's gone back to sleep.
  6. Good point I'll ask him, I let you know! He's asleep now, (doesn't like to get up before 0900)
  7. No the view is fine the angle from above is not the best from the drvers seat they are not an issue
  8. I went for a 40 mm lip and had 4 x 30 mm slots cut for the straps, the camera straps are £5 on EBAY
  9. It's 6mm which is very strong but it relys on the strength of the head rests. Didn't think of marketing it but in fairness if anyone on here wanted one I would arrange it
  10. Thanks for the feedback, if you have an 11 stone dog it helps to have airflow, I don't really like those socks your wearing but I'll keep that to myself
  11. Picked my replacement car up on Friday 4th April, worth the wait, thanks everyone for all the kind comments and suggestions through out. Once you speak to the correct person at Skoda customer service reaapears
  12. I've had my TDI Meteor Grey hatch a week now, my wife hates the colour but I have had 3 people specifically stop and talk to me and say how unusual I like the colour. It is and will remain a Marmite/Vegemite choice.
  13. Being the owner of a Mastiff my problem was not him getting through the gap between the back seats and the roof it was the hair and slobber (believe me it's of epic proportions!) I bought a Boot Buddy liner (yet to arrive) but they don't do a dog guard and £90 is pricey IMO. I also didn't want my headlining drilled. Drawing inspiration I made a template of the space allowing for an air gap and went to a local plastic fabricator and had the below guard made out of 6 mm poly-carbonate (boot Buddys is only 3 mm which I thought appeared a little flimsy!) It may not be obvious from the photos but there is a 40 mm inward facing lip which rests on the back seats. I then went to EBay and bought two elasticated Velcro camera straps, the air holes you see I drilled myself. So it simply attaches to the two outer head rests, can be fitted from the back of the car and after a thorough road test it stays in place with no issue, and is easily wiped clean. Total cost £50, feeling quite pleased with myself. As the rear view isn't effected, and it cuts down some noise from the boot I'm intending leaving it in all of the time.
  14. Because we are the wise one's. Others will follow but we were the first!
  15. I too have a BMW story. I had a 5 year old 90 K mile 530d SE tourer auto. Wanted a new car, went to a dealer, again he had a similar spec'd delivery mileage model to my current car. He offered me £5500 for my car against his £32K car with no discount. When I pointed out I couldn't really afford to lose £440 a month in depreciation he seemed a little shocked. I ended up buying a Honda Civic (they have a huge boot which was only for my dog!). BMW's are fine, rubbish in the snow and ice (4x4 excepted), mine ate tyres and the new Mk3 Octi matches it in so many ways and take away the £5000 extra you pay for a 320d, it's a simple choice in my view.
  16. Find somewhere you can pull over safely indicate and let them pass, they have gained 5 metres on their quest. You've won the war buying the car you have, let them win the skirmish!
  17. 3-4 weeks is the average depending on trains, boats and lorries
  18. Update from Skoda UK...ordered on 4/2/14 provisional build week 11, although may come forward to 10. That means all things being well my car will be with me Mid April
  19. Under the Equality Act 2010 one of the protected characteristics is Skoda ownership, if anyone in the work treats you less favourably because you own a Skoda, you can call in the Free Speech Police and they will tazer them and throw the offender in the clink
  20. Your car didn't come in through Grimsby with mine and had to be replaced having been damaged did it? Mine was a 10/9/13 order and week 51 build. Did you have other options?
  21. My Galaxy S3 worked fine streaming on a demonstrator Superb Elegance with Columbus that I had for the weekend so there may be a firmware update available for the Columbus as this was a new vehicle
  22. Wow what a difference a customer service person can make and I am deliberately keeping this anonymous so as not to personally attack people. Earlier today I was given a level of compensation that was derisory and told that there was no way Skoda UK could escalate my order and prioritise it, which would have meant 11 months from order to delivery. I then complained upon high at Skoda UK. As a result I had the pleasure of speaking to KW at Skoda UK, instantly she was personable understood the problem, took ownership and resolved my issues in a few hours. As a result I have a compensation package I feel comfortable with in the form of nice extras on the vehicle (and no I won't reveal what it is sorry) an agreement to change an existing stock order which is 6-7 weeks into the order process to my spec and then to prioritise this at the factory, which KW will continue to track and provide updates. Finally I will keep the hire car until mine is delivered. Now I understand how Skoda perform so well in the JD Power Survey to improve things further KW needs to train all of the staff.
  23. Meteor Grey for me as I don't care what anyone else thinks However I think the best approach if you disagree with someone elses choice is to say nothing, otherwise comments can appear rude and intentionally provocative for no reason!
