  1. Have a Skoda Superb 1.6L Greenline. 77k kilometres approx. Got an engine fault last week and car went into limp mode. Towed to garage and diagnostic check indicated EGR valve fault. Had it replaced. Skoda covered the parts as goodwill. Told that replacing was a 5 hour job. Labour cost €400 :(
  2. All the speed limit signs in the Republic are km/h so a miles/h reading is not really needed. For when you travel north, just divide your speed by 8 and multiply by 5 Rough conversions 30 miles/h = 50 km/h 60 miles/h = 100 km/h 70 miles/h = 115 km/h
  3. fwiw here are 4 links to photos of amethyst combis: Amethyst 1 Amethyst 2 Amethyst 3 Amethyst 4
  4. Afaik that would scupper anyone looking to avail the scrappage scheme as the whole deal has to be completed before the end of June.
  5. Thanks for the review. The key question is "how is your lab adjusting to the Superb Combi?"
  6. All cars depreciate in value - even if you buy second hand. However a new car will take a bigger hit in year 1.
  7. If you have a sunroof then that might be an escape route
  8. The manual has this to say: When using diesel fuel with high sulphur content the life of the diesel particle filter is clearly reduced. A specialist garage will be able to tell you which countries use only diesel fuel with high sulphur content
