  1. My fourth service at 4 years old was a major service.
  2. Looks very neat! What is the make and model of your dashcam?
  3. It is a Glasswing or Glasswinged Butterfly. More here --- http://www.lovethesepics.com/2013/03/gorgeous-glasswing-butterflies-42-stunning-photos/
  4. I agree with this, choose a Canon Ixus and you can't go wrong.
  5. Had my Fabia just two years and only done 5000 miles. No long journeys. It is used almost entirely for short journeys, many under a mile long. It has been completely free of rattles, the steering is dead neutral, the only blemish on it being perfect was intermittent misbehavior of the remote central locking. In the last couple of months it has ceased doing this of it's own accord, it is reliable now. After 10 years in a Mk.4 Golf 1.6 SE I found the suspension harder with just as much body roll but have got used to it now. I absolutely love the engine, the DSG is fine too although I was quite happy with the Golf's fully automatic. (The best engine I have had since a Golf GTI 1.6 Mk 1bought new, I had it 8 years and sold it to curb my racing instincts, it begging to go fast.) The only aspect of the car which has been disappointing is petrol consumption. The Golf urban figure was 26 mpg and I got 24. I did do a few more longer journeys. The Fabia is 40 and I have averaged just 30 in the 5000 miles. I don't think there is anything wrong with the engine as when I have occasionally used motorways and A roads I have returned over 50. Also the hard-to-read speedo means I often have to use sidelights. Overall I am very happy to have saved about £4000 over a competitor and got a good car. My wife likes it and can even put it away in the garage. I am very happy with the dealer who supplied it, D.M.Keith, Leeds, in the purchase and two services carried out by them. Many thanks to Estate Man for advice when I was fed up waiting a long time for it. P.S. I am 80 years old.
  6. I would advise yes. The VAG water pump has a plastic impeller moulded on the shaft using a fine spline which is weak and if it fails, I had one fail, it is expensive to replace as there is a lot of labour cost. The pump is not dear and can easily be replaced when the cambelt is off.
  7. My needles came illuminated but when I asked the dealer for the dials to be lit all the time I was told no can do.
  8. Like them I certainly do Wonderful bird pics, your Flickr certainly has a lot more the same, very skillful photography.
  9. My first service on a 1.2 TSI 105 was £93 total at a big Skoda dealer. Labour was £42 plus vat. Your charge does seem extorionate
  10. I am 79 and pretty weedy. Last month I had a severe puncture wrecking the tyre and decided to change the wheel myself. The Locking Adaptor fitted well and I was able to remove all the nuts quite easily with this and the spanner provided. The wheel was hard to get off but I managed it and soon had the proper wheel spare on. Very glad that I had specified this.
  11. I was given these, the PDI report was unexpected. How can they not give you an Owners Manual?
  12. Mine does both the above from time to time, mostly it is OK so I put up with it until the car has to go to dealers for something else. Not surprised others have problems, the locking system obviously has glitches.
