  1. Car now gone, but not forgotten. Polo engine (1.2tsi 110) is so quiet, at one point I thought it was off. If Yeti 2 is good, you may see me back .....
  2. £380 extra to cover her as Provisional (DL) named driver., after that its Telematics for us all, or a different provider, but after she has passed, I'm passed caring - she can do what she likes ;-) Any thoughts where elso to look ?
  3. Deal done and Yeti now going to dealer as a trade in against a 2016 Polo SEL (a light 110bhp). Swapped Winters back to Summer Annapurnas, valeted interior and exterior - looks brand new !
  4. Will be punting in our Yeti in March. As our eldest daughter is learning to drive, I'm thinking Polo for The family runaround. Trade-in value is about the same as the Balloon payment, so with no equity after looking after it, I will leave the keys with VWFS (who sell it to BCA). How can such a low mileage, well looked after car be worth no more than the Balloon ? Last time, Yeti for Yeti, I had quite a bit of equity, but not this time against a Polo ....
  5. We've been green-laning in ours today. Sat Nav takes us up a farm track to the cottage :-). As I was driving, my passengers has to get out to open the gates ;-)
  6. Sounds like a big thanks to West End... Did you keep the winters ?
  7. Only 10k miles in 2 yrs - leaves you 90k miles of life left ..... (Plus a full set of 215/60-16 winters) Nomad would suit your lifestyle ...
  8. I'm guessing it was open, as the driver came out and just opened the door. :-0
  9. Mrs Hector heads out the morning to deliver eldest daughter to visit friend. She turns right out of the front door, whereas the car is left. She has a dress in hand which she is returning to a neighbour, so all makes sense. Eldest also leaves and turns right, leaving me to think she is off to talk to neighbour also.... Yeti indicators flash, suggesting they are both returning to head off. But, they're up the street, getting into another, almost identical Forest Green yeti, same vintage, with very similar reg number. They're in someone else's car looking confused..... Mrs Hector gets out, me doubled up, and comes down street to explain someone has broken into our car, stolen the mats, left it like a tip, with leaves and branches everywhere, with eldest wondering who but the box of tissues on the dash.... I point to our car, giggling at them..... Driver of messy Yeti comes out, gets in and drives off, none the wiser....
  10. Is it because you like looking at your shoes ?
  11. It's most likely a differential thermal expansion problem with the chrome rings - the are brittle and thin, giving a high frequency vibration. There is no need for them, but the foam seems a good idea (if not obtrusive on the eye !)
  12. Had these in Yeti#1, especially on cold mornings. Goes away when the interior is warm. Haven't been in yeti#2 long enough to notice....
  13. So I'm safe - I have no direct dealings with the neighbour - she can go straight back to the dealer....
  14. Yeti #2 has been with us for two weeks now, but we got a surprise .... One of our neighbours bought Yeti #1 from the dealer :-0 It's sitting on the other side of the street, looking pretty resplendant, after all my washing and some bodywork repairs ;-). Not sure I'm comfortable with seeing it everytime I look out of the window. Photos to follow (in fact, just go to my post when I swapped cars at the dealers).....
