Second service yep not two year old, many many recalls due to software. During second service it's due back in again as known issue with drive belt and pulley. Noticeable via awful sound from engine (1.5), told either one or both will need change on a 2 yr old car. No idea what Skoda did to the Octavia heritage. Ps have noted the infotainment screen should be other way round as it's a left hooker on all UK models meaning main rubbish touch buttons are oriented for Europe so you have to stretch across.

Goodbye My first 3 Octavia Cars I enjoyed. This one is a lovely car. But with a Data Connection Over Air connectivity to Skoda and an Infotainment System Designed or Managed or Both by idiots. 2 hour journey of Infotainment nightmare, surprised I didn't cause an accident. So before I say something I'm logging off this site, and unless it's a flipping second coming I will not be buying a Skoda again, I feel sorry for the dealers as Skoda UK the Brand is not what it was. I was told end of last year that going forward VAG cars will come like Tesla with options that over air are £ activated or deactivated to speed up production lines. The issue worryingly with my car this occasion and previously is a flaky over air connection factory to car 🤦so gord help owners going forward

The issue is the over air updates around May 5th 2022 have stuffed yet again the infotainment meaning it won't sync with the Skoda server plus primary user is not there plus no sync with Skoda Connect service I've paid for, e mailed Skoda but no joy, called today and Skoda UK told me it's a 48 turnaround for a reply...shambles, a good car let down by rubbish infotainment and Skoda server, Skoda built the car and send the updates etc but they just push it off to the dealer who I feel sorry for...

Two weeks ago a number of over air updates to the car. Now both web & app show car always unlocked. Yes it is locked and can check the doors...but what is going on and what else unseen has gone wrong with these over air updates. Error message states , we are aware and working on a solution... 🤦🤣 what a laugh

Yep if connect in UK was just the app I agree £ but it's more than that here Ive also had as per many issues with Android Drive see https://www.t3.com/news/google-is-asking-for-your-help-to-fix-android-auto I've found the built-in satnav in the car actually very good

.....but when you have assessed and reviewed then ordered the car, only to find this generation is beset by so many software issues some minor many though dangerous let alone distracting while driving and the dealers are in the dark as much as the owners I wonder if Skoda will kill off the Octavia when this comes up for renewal as this generation has been a software design mess

ok ok not a major issue! But when when it's been paid for I want it to work. Both Skoda Connect web and app not updating for a week now. Removed the app (android) and reloaded, also the web after a cache clearing then a fresh log in. Sadly (even after assessing and reviewing the car pre ordering, plus this is my fourth - others were fab) this generation is beset by annoying sometimes dangerous and distracting software issues. Shame really as nice car. Some error messages from Skoda Connect web and app so yep sent off to Skoda.

No criticism taken. I just can't believe how dangerous the software from a safety point of view it is, you cant drive a car when you don't know if a safety function is ghosting error messages. Its across VAG certain models and all they do is oh we'll reboot or send an update. VAG need to get on top of this and now! Ps otherwise it's a nice car, shame really...

Safety, as the software errors/warning lights are all linked to the cars safety systems, external lights, airbags, front assist systems etc It not someone complaining about the entertainment system, well other than the satnav also shows wrong data eg it's telling me I'm in another UK location than I am I take safety as first

I've sent everything in writing, this is as sadly with many owners of this model, an issue of bad build, my own car suffering significant safety issues for past 6 mths. Skoda UK don't seem to want to know, declining rejection and stating dealer needs to sort it out, this is a Skoda issue not their agent, you don't complain to a newsagents if you don't like the journalism in a paper they sell. What happened to the helpful, trustworthy Skoda brand I used to know, is it they VAG trying to cut corners to cover legal costs of diesel gate...

Well another weekend of software errors that go when engined turned off and back on. Dealer still waiting on info from factory but another minimum of a week of car in dealer. Called Skoda customer service (they were supposed to have called me) they weren't interested, passed to Skoda Finance, they said dealer issue, I pressed the safety issue of the software since earlier in 2021, so have now via Skoda Finance raised a complaint and Reject Car, they werent very interested saying this takes several weeks...it's been several months of my patience. Fingers crossed I am Skoda free after Christmas. Will I buy another...NO!

Yep it's recalled itself again; Headlights, Rear lights, Keys not recognised, Tyre Pressures, Front Assist, Lane Assist, Parking sensors.... Who wrote this software!!! Been told it's a 5 day duration at dealer (tbc) to check out.. who I feel very sorry for as.. What did Skoda do in design & manufacture of this warning light hazard on our roads..... PS regular it doesn't ( no issues with my previous 3 Octavia) recognise my mobile...not good when someone calls as you have to look from the road and reselect your phone 🤦 so you can connect as per UK Road Laws...... PPS drove recently a left hand drive Octavia and that big central screen is easier to access as yep our UK model has a left hand drive orientated screen... 🐻

On route home after a hard rest , tyre pressure, front assist, lane assist, front and rear lights failure (but they'd not ) warning lights came on , turned engine off then on and all vanished, its now a conversation between dealer and factory...a beautiful car failed by a crap computer. To be fair the dealer has been fabulous , whoever signed off in Skoda the software what back in circa 2019 should be sacked

Car at dealer no error codes found, cold weather is proving to it seems cause the ghost errors, they've conducted a hard reset

Car at dealer for software recall, they've had to order a full set of wipers as they are proving to dry out and need replacing sooner than previously

Hi, couldn't see a posting, any ideas on why the hat h wiper blade chatters/squeaks on the glass. Dealer said it's the alcohol in the screen wash, I only use official Skoda/VAG additive. Have cleaned the glass but even when screen wet it chatters/squeaks

Rattle1. As mentioned above it's the hard plastic sprung boot shocks (awful design), I also found with help on here, Rattle2. Wrap a small amount of fabric duck tape around the D Ring catches for the release bracket of the 60/40 seats , Rattle3. Remove the umbrella or snow brush from their (again bad design) slots in the front doors. My car is now silent.... - other than the rear dong/clunk sound I put down to the rear suspension being a live axile cheap design...unless someone on here has found out what that is (it's been in so often with software that the safety check underneath they do I hope would have noted a major error!) But it's back in tomorrow as it's sent more software error codes to the factory... absolutely shocking build / design

Hi zetzet, yep with you on that, I was in a situation of needed to change, silly me thought Skoda had built good solid cars till then, then again some other brands font suffer this launch issue, well except a friend she was locked out of her 50k tesla due to their own build and tech issues, I think the brand's just don't care anymore on the usual consumers second biggest purchase, they've become a disposable commodity Iike mobile phones

I've never known a car like this, it's now been recalled (not me asking) for the 5th time in a year of receiving it from the factory (car sent error message to Skoda). Along with this its a bag of rattles, both front doors, hatch hard plastic sprung bracket (what was wrong with rubber) and why as per many should I have to grease them so often (it's not an Austin 7), inside of hatch behind number plate rattle (Skoda did sort this), rear drivers door, the 60/40 seat brackets ( thanks to briskoda I solved this as Skoda couldn't) , front assist radar, front camera, airbags, satnav, warning lights , infotainment often does its own thing as do the follow you home lights , I wonder what the 5th recall is, dealer was told my car had told Skoda it had a problem....and I know what it is, this will be my last flying arrow after owning 4 to date. Are they all bad , I dont care it's a car and they've been made for decades so not a new concept ...hayho!

Warning on Infotainment about error of front and rear lights , OverAir Error Codes Transmitted, and a call from Skoda, except after 3 wks ( very busy weeks) the error codes goes after restarting engine) plus no light issues, still the OverAir Error Codes Transmitted is good, but But my cars be in with so many error codes and it's a year old built to order, still it's going back in again. Anyone else had, A) light error codes that were nowt very good Skoda call due to OverAir Error Codes Transmitted. Now to find the time as fed up with all the software issues.

Sadly even with all the updates, I get these quite often, Not Available: front assist, parking sensors, camera, airbag , then as quite as they appear they disappear, have called my car Hogwarts as it's a right magician of moments, along with vanishing act of Skoda Connect Servers 🧙
