  1. Adam Can you confirm that there was / is no issue with FW3810 or 4020? Only reason for asking is I have the same 1Z0 035 680A unit and a 2008 Octavia. When I upgraded to 4010 I ended up with a totally flat battery. charged it up, and the fan in the Columbus just cycled on/off continuously without the car or unit being turned on. Tried the gateway fix from Josi as well, but no luck. The CAN gateway is a Q version, so I assume the original rain problem shouldn't be there (and is not at the moment). I ended up going back to 2760, but would really like to upgrade. If you don't mind, could you also let me know what coding you have in the controller (I believe it should be the radio controller 56) if you know, and where you got the modified firmware from? Many Thanks Tom
  2. Hi, could you expand on the passenger airbag disable switch? I had my glove box out to fit a Dension ipod adaptor, but only wires to the glove box was for the light (I think anyway). just want to make sure I have not screwed any thing up.
  3. Hi All, I have previously asked about getting the OPS display showing in my retro fit Columbus and have come up with the need to replace the current parking controller. The current one is: Address 76: Park Assist Labels: 1Z0-919-283.lbl Part No SW: 1Z0 919 283 B HW: 1Z0 919 283 B Component: Parkhilfe 4-Kan H04 0020 Coding: 0001021 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00000 VCID: 3D7BCEBA1DE1 If I change the controller (and rewire it) can I get the climate display as well? In vcds, I think it was in the CAN gateway page, there is a selection for 'OPS and internal display' but it comes up with an unknown error when 'do it' is pressed. (My guess is it's because the above controller is at address 76 rather than 10.) I believe my CAN gateway is suitable. Address 19: CAN Gateway Labels: 1K0-907-530.lbl Part No SW: 1K0 907 530 Q HW: 1K0 907 951 Component: J533__Gateway H16 0202 Revision: H16 Serial number: 2700K087170117 Coding: ED807F0E4006021303 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00000 VCID: 356BD69A25D1 I have searched high and low for a definative answer, and I know there are those in the forum who think the displays are a waste of time, but I had them with the Audience head unit fitted, and I liked it so..... What do I have to do to get both displays back? Thanks Tom
  4. Not sure what firmware was in the Columbus (same part number as yours) except it was version 2764. Don't know what the 'patch' did but the menus work as a result. Tom
  5. I had the same problem, used one of Josis' fixes from here. Works well now http://vwnavi.com/showthread.php/13672-Unofficial-272x-software-and-SWL-recovery-CD 2760 fix for Skoda Octavia A5 - it will update gateway table only in order to get working MFSW/Maxidot when Skoda Columbus is installed in pre-facelift Octavia A5 or any VW car. Apply it after updating to any of 26xx/27xx/1300 firmwares.
  6. Their postage to Australia was very expensive so I had it shipped to a friend who lives in the states and is coming out this way. You could use a freight forwarding company as an option. Reading further posts about bluetooth issues, I actually have a factory BT kit fitted. I hope I can disable it (BT that is), otherwise I will just on sell the kit. I only got this kit based on the price. Dension tech support said the gateway 300 was same kit but no BT but I have not been able to find one.
  7. I bit the bullet and got this. Just waiting for it to turn up. Hope it works. http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=17964
  8. Not a 100% sure, but there are a few different versions around. http://www.skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product∏=133&menu=%C5%A0koda http://www.skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product∏=138&menu=%C5%A0koda
  9. Thanks Josi, That clears it up. On a side issue, did you ever get to try the Dension gateway five?
  10. Hi, The Columbus is fitted and seems to work well. This is the can gateway I have. If I am reading it correctly I have a revision H, please correct me if I am wrong. Address 19: CAN Gateway Labels: 1K0-907-530.lbl Part No SW: 1K0 907 530 Q HW: 1K0 907 951 Component: J533__Gateway H16 0202 Revision: H16 Serial number: 2700K087170117 Coding: ED807F0E4006021303 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00000 VCID: 356BD69A25C7 I have seen some threads where it has been plug and play, others that have to rewire the plugs. Still none the wiser.
  11. I had found this thread but it talks about not knowing if it is applicable to 2008 and later cars. As such, I am still unsure as to what is required:-(
  12. Hi, I am still doing research on how to get the visuals for the reverse sensors to display. Skodateile have the updated controller part number 1ZO 919 475B which is capable of displaying the graphics. http://www.skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product∏=152&menu=%C5%A0koda The car is a 8/2008 vRS Octavia TDi, with factory fitted rear sensors and Columbus retrofitted. Has anyone fitted this? Is it a straight swap or as some VW forums say, there needs to be some rewiring conducted? (I have not found any answer re the Octavia) I have read somewhere the controller address may be different. http://vwnavi.com/showthread.php/7823-Parking-sensors-on-RNS-display/page14 has a chap that seems to indicate that it is a straight swap for a Jetta This is what I currently have fitted: Address 19: CAN Gateway Labels: 1K0-907-530.lbl Part No SW: 1K0 907 530 Q HW: 1K0 907 951 Component: J533__Gateway H16 0202 Revision: H16 Serial number: 2700K087170117 Coding: ED807F0E4006021303 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00000 VCID: 356BD69A25C7 Address 76: Park Assist Labels: 1Z0-919-283.lbl Part No SW: 1Z0 919 283 B HW: 1Z0 919 283 B Component: Parkhilfe 4-Kan H04 0020 Coding: 0001021 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00000 VCID: 3D7BCEBA1DF7 Any advice or pointers greatly appreciated. Tom
  13. Hi I have installed my bluetooth kit, car is back together, but I have now found 3 small rubber bits (see link below). I have had a look around, but cannot find an 'obvious' place for them. Any ideas where they come from? The wife has just vacuumed the car and found this in the drivers foot well as well. Any ideas? Thanks Tom
