  1. THANKS FOR LOOKING, TWO POSITIVE VIEWINGS, SECOND BOUGHT IT, Selling my pride and joy #378. 105k miles. Nothing wrong with it, but a medical problem means I am not driving anything much at the moment and using public transport. I thought I might own it another 10 years until my recent challenges. Bought brand new from Motorline Skoda of Canterbury, full service history including 2 cambelt changes at 57k and 92k. Mot till Oct 2018. EDIT - been asked when the last Cam Belt was, it was with a major service and the MOT October 2018. The last 5 years it has been serviced by Volksmaster, a VW/Audi/Skoda specialist, in Oldham and then Bury, with the instruction always to make sure everything is done to the highest standards. Mike the owner there will attest to the quality of this car. Usual high spec - leather, Aircon, cruise control etc, only extras I had on purchase were a cup holder and some front mud guards to stop any chipping. Extras are Sony DAB/USB/ Hands-Free Radio with Hirschmann Antenna. Sounds great and very convenient. Hands free via blue tooth and mic on the visor works seamlessly for me. Osram daylight running lights built into the insert in the front bumper. They are at full during daylight with the ignition, then 50% when on side or headlights. Lighting (theatre) is my profession, so I also have fitted Osram NightBreakers and Osram LED side lights which are both very bright and clearly seen. The alloys are have been acid bathed and redone in Anthracite, Recently. I have new inserts for the centres and will get them fitted or provide. It has been treated with care, never thrashed, I get an indicated 50+mpg on a short run once it warms up, 60mpg on medium ones, 70mpg cruising on the motorway, but as you can see in the photos below have had 90+mpg on a slow long run (moving house from Kent to Manchester with a very full car and the motorways were a large part 50mph). It exaggerates I know but even -20% it is impressive, I should say it has not only been conservatively driven, its lungs are opened occasionally it just is not my style to thrash things and rush too much. Most of the time just me in it, the back seats have hardly been sat in, the leather trim has lasted well. Interior trim has the usual little scuff, the gearknob numbers are rubbed a bit off etc but generally it has worn well. Tyres top quality for both grip and economy - Yokohama BlueEarth on the rear and Continental ContiPremium Contact 2s on the front - both with plenty of tread. 2 Keys etc. I will include everything I have kept to keep things running smoothly e.g. I have a couple of spares of the Night breakers, other bulbs and I bought spare bumper inserts (incase I or anyone after me wanted to remove the daylight running lights). It for 8 of its years lived in a garage when not used. The doors were given the sealant process as detailed here , no dampness on the carpets. I had the blistering rear spoiler others had, it was professionally redone by the Paint shop adjacent to Volksmasters (Brealey's) last summer. I have an on and off affair with the rear wiper, there is a fault I posted on here that no one (other than me) has replied to - I can fit the fuse and it works for 6 months, then it starts going without the switch, pull the fuse, wait a month or two and it will work again. The motor has been changed so it is not that. My next project was to replace it with a neat cap over the hole as lots have. OK bottom line, as it is in exceptional shape, only the wiper is the downside, a keeper or excellent project car - £3500 no silly offers, please. Thanks for reading. Located just north of Manchester in Radcliffe, very welcome to come and see it and test drive (it really does drive a very well). Advertised elsewhere as well but will update this if sold. Welcome to email or private message me if you wish, apauldav@ gmail .com (no spaces) EDIT: Been emailed questions about dents and rust and rust .... no there are no disernable dents or rust, the little white fleck is a bit of paint off the bumper, generally it is in very good nick, there are the odd scratches but it is less than one might expect. Not show condition but good condition. When I bought the car it had everything and one extra was a paint treatment which might be why it has done well generally. Pictures below and are also together at my flickr account at https://www.flickr.com/photos/wovenlights/albums/72157664294496287
  2. - 378 Bought new in Canterbury and still the original owner from New. I added Daylight Running Lights very early on adjacent to the fog lights and recently (2017) had the alloys reconditioned so are Anthracite grey in colour. One fault which has repeatedly failed to be mended is the rear wash wipe which has an intermittent fault (loom?) - posted on here but no one has replied. Had to seal up the doors as was leaking water, as per advice on here. Runs a treat still and just over the 100k. Currently located North of Manchester.
  3. Seems that no one knows the answer .... well the good news is that it stopped .... not sure if it is due to it warming up or that I had to change the battery and something else changed with it. It was intermittent so I am fearing it coming back but for the moment enjoying the view out of the back!.
  4. Hi All Rather than the fault most have of a non working motor the only way I can stop my rear wiper working is to pull the fuse. I suspect a problem in the wiring loom as at one stage it was intermittent. Express Garage, a small Skoda dealer in Herne Bay, who have serviced it since new checked it over after charging me £80 in labour stated they could not find anything in the loom and that it will need a new motor. Not sure I believe them. Possibly a loose in the motor or the control stork? Anyone have any thoughts on this, I have a local breaker who has a motor for £30 which is better than the £75+ from Skoda but not sure it is going to make a difference and not keen to waste the £30 and the time. Anyone come across this before? Fitting seems to be simple if I get the trim off ok, I assume any Mk 1 Wash Wipe unit will fit. Car is an 07 SE VRS in the blue. I happily lurk here thanks all for the advice and questions. Paul
