  1. https://www.sykes-pickavant.com/products/suspension-tools/hub-pullers/296 its the type i have had a few decades, works every time on my S types
  2. only reason i mentioned it was when i put a rapid engine in my 110r i forgot about the manifold hole, revved up like crazy on first start
  3. does this model have the brake vacuum on the manifold? could a leak there cause a simalar problem (yeah i saw the age too)
  4. who is the current moderator of this topic or someone who can take charge on info regarding the posting of location and number plates., i have seen something you might want to pass on the the owner of an S110R, i'm not putting any details here for obvious reasons, can you pm me as you might know the owner or be able to find out and want to pass on the info. Thanks Bobby
  5. i had this problem on my s100, for a quick fix to pass the mot i just used the stalk switch as an on/off switch and stopped it in the park position manually. the problem is the park contact in the actual wiper box rewire the contacts on the wiper box so it just has an on off function then replace the effected stuff or leave it like it
  6. out of intreast what was wrong with the original 120 engine?
  7. i will advise you have very well ventilated area to drain the tank or at minimum have someone experienced with you, spark and flame dangers are pretty obvious but the fuel fumes even caught me out once while draining a tank at home. something i found on the s types is the carb plunger can stick if left un used for several years, not sure if the estelles will but they have same type of carbs
  8. Are there any links/info on which is the best fwd skoda engine to use for rear engine skodas (s types) i pretty sure its a topic already done somewhere, my 120 seems to be running fine and fast on unleaded without any retuning or anything since it was introduced but i will be returning my s types back to the road soon, i do have a 135 ric engine with the unleaded headas i have three s types atm i probably gonna be on the look out for a few unleaded donors, either that or have someone engineer some hardened valave seats/valves? any info would be appreciated
  9. Another question, was the MB Cabrio an after production conversion and not an actual factory model?
  10. Does anyone have any links to Skoda MB cabrio restoration or any pictures of the fixtures and fittings of the specific convertible related items and bodywork (to refab the inner rather than the outer panels) failing that does anyone know if an mb cabrio does the events in uk Thanks
  11. regarding the 190mm clutches were there only one of these types? ie any 190mm skoda clutch kit should fit a 1990 120 five speed previously all the times i needed a clutch its been 180mm for the older rwds reason i ask is one seller who had a 190mm said it wouldnt fit a mine i have already taken out the clutch which is marked on it 'sachs type m 190' i have temporarily plonked a rapid ric kit in it from a spare engine i had just to move it out the garage for a few days till one arrives this one has alot more free play in it before the clutch rod hits the thrust arm, which is unexpected any reason for that? or the above question one of the reasons for that? thanks
  12. who is the main / best supplier of parts these days for estelle and s100/s110r both body and mechanical
  13. Sorted! changed the carb for another i had, (jerrys bananas where that came from), and it ran first time and idled fine, i'm thinking it is the carb from an old 136 rapid that i bought as a breaker along time ago, so as i was checking the carb for any fuel leaks i saw a grub screw bouncing around on the top of the engine, looking at the old carb it seems to have come from the right hand side about "11 oclock" to the diafram body on that side, i will but it back if and try it one day but i will need a new or s/hand air? adjuster screw (smaller of the two) as i buggered the o ring thinking i could put a regular one on it. gonna need to get in touch with Paul for a supply of service parts once the xmas parcel backlog has gone. thanks for the quick response hawkeracing
  14. no luck as yet, stripped the carb and rebuilt it, i dont know that much about them, blew it out with an airline, still the same. could there be anything in the distributor body tht might be really worn out, or a case of if it runs on throttle the dizzy is ok
  15. hi, my 120 five stelly wont idle, it was running fine then just failed to idle, runs fine under throttle and holds steady under throttle. i'm suspecting the carb, either blockage or there is a solanoid on the carb that i'm not sure what it does or what the symptoms are if that fails i have checked and changed the points etc but they are fine also could there be an electrical problem that would also cause this, coil or balast? thanks the carb solanoid does click when the ignition is switched on so probably not that?
