My superb is at 80k miles and has never been the best handler. As bushes are starting to wear out (dreaded control arms need doing) I'm thinking of spending a bit of cash and getting new suspension. I want to keep the comfort (had a modded Saab 9k turbo which had Bilstein lowering kit - handled brilliantly but had no comfort - so bad I took them back off) I also want to tighten up the handling. Spoken to brother who had Passat - he put Audi a4 sport dampers on front, passat oem on back and hr lowering springs. Made massive difference. For that kind of money you can buy this Vmaxx coilover kit - anyone have experiences? What would you suggest? Cheers

2003 Skoda Superb elegance. I have factory sat nav and am just about to order a multimedia adapter to allow AV input (mostly to hook ipod up without losing cd changer). I am going to get both audio video adapter so I could connect DVD player. On ebay you can pick up in dash dvd players e.g http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9739387243&fromMakeTrack=true for relatively little money. My questions - Will this work? can I put this in the boot (where tv tuner/first aid box sits)? If i run the audio/video leads from dvd to the multimedia adapter (in glove box/possibly passenger footwell) do I just nead a power lead to dvd player? or do i need the full ISO connection? How easy is that? most of these players come with remote - presume will work in boot? Or do people suggest siting somewhere else? Thanks

its a 20gb Ipod - 2nd or 3rd gen...not sure which! Im not sure the Ipod has a video cable......

What is the best way to connect my Ipod into the factory fit Sat Nav? I would ideally have song info etc displayed on the Sat nav screen, as well as steering wheel control. Is this possible?

Why is the superb down on torque compared to the fabia? Does the 5 speed gearbox handle less torque?

Last Sept we bought a Fabia VRS. Both myself and partner work in the same school so this was our main car. I also had a Saab 9000 Aero. I recently got a new job so required a 2nd economical (but medium/large) car. I saw a very nice 03 superb elegance on here and bought it. I cant actually believe we dont have 1, but 2 Skodas in our household......:eek: who would have thought it! I have a few niggles: Catvision - drivers side LED is dimmer than passenger. The car had a new pollen filter due to water ingress, and seller reckoned this might have caused this too. If this was the case should both LED's have drop? Could 1 just be failing? How to change? Electric windows : open and close by locking/unlocking car with key in drivers door - should i be able to control with remote too? The engine (tdi130) seems a little noiser than the Fabia when driving, is this due to supressed road/wind noise in the Superb? Any body else noticed? Do the engines suffer from vacuum leaks at all - any obvious places to look? Im also thinking of upgrading - I would want 150-160hp with a very flat uprated torque curve and the ability to pull higher up the rev range. Who is the best remapper for this? All in all I am well impressed with my new lounge.............

Picking the fabia vrs up in early sept. I have an (older) ipod. I want to connect it, but I would like to control it from the head unit. Are the ice links any good? Is it better to spend on an aftermarket HU (alpine) with ipod station? I didnt get the multichanger so I have saved a few hundred for this reason - advice appreciated.

I live in lake district - the m6 between manchester and penrith is awesome, especially as you get past lancaster. There are no fixed cameras on unrestricted motorway, but the roadworks do have them, although it often has camera vans on the bridges, but these tend to be around lancaster. I believe the police will tell you where these are though? Going up Shap....awesome with a car with plenty of torque!
