  1. Like sgcf, I only transfer my bike by car a few times a year. I've bought the same carrier, the Saris Solo, and have found it to be excellent. It is straightforward to attach to the car and is ideal if you have one bike to carry. The first time I used it there was some bumping against the rear of the car but that was down to my poor positioning of the pedals on my bike rather than any design fault with the carrier. Full marks from me!
  2. I'm over 6'5" and find it great for headroom. I don't even have the seat all the way back so legroom isn't an issue either. I agree with Defenderben on the seatbelt in the 3dr.
  3. Same car, costs less. Makes sense that it should beat the Up
  4. I like the cold blast that you can get to your feet.
  5. The one thing I really miss from my Roomster is the leather steering wheel. Is it possible to buy a retro fit Skoda one? I've seen all the leather covers on ebay but dont trust my skills to fit them properly and anyway I'd prefer the whole wheel.
  6. I am delighted with my Citigo but was wondering if anyone else felt that the boot area could do with some additional soundproofing. Has anyone done this and if so, is it a tricky procedure?
  7. I've had my Citigo for 11 days now and can definitely say that I am delighted with it. It is my 8th Skoda - Estelle, Favorit 1, Favorit 2, Felicia, Octavia vRS estate, Roomster 1.4TDi, Roomster 1.9TDi and now Citigo 60PS. What I had not realised was just how good it appears to be in snow. Coming home from work today (heavy snow in York rush hour) I decided to try a short cut up one of the very few "hills" in the city. In front of me, a guy in a BMW M3 had given up and a VW Golf was struggling. Rather smugly I simply nipped past them both. No drama at all. Has anyone else found this to be the case?
  8. Care to name and shame the dealer? This sort of practice is a disgrace.
  9. I have owned Roomsters with both engines and to be honest I am absolutely delighted with the 1.9. I've had mine for nearly 5 years now and have no intention of changing soon. I found the 1.4 to be a little short on power, particularly when attempting to overtake. As far as I can remember there wasn't much between them on fuel economy so I'd go for the 1.9. The level 3 spec is great too.
  10. I've recently had the gearbox oil changed and the crunching in second gear has gone.
  11. I've had problems with the parking sensors too. Had them replaced 2 years ago and they have gone again recently. Can't afford to get them done again and I don't really need them anyway.
  12. Anyone know what oil and how much of it I'd need to change the stuff in the gearbox?
  13. Maybe it is just me or does anyone else think it looks a bit Vauxhall Corsa-ish from the front?
  14. Where did you see it? I'll keep an eye out for it if it is anywhere local.
  15. I am looking to replace the control arm bushes on my 2007 Roomster 3 1.9TDi as this is the second time they have failed in 4 years. I'd like to upgrade them to something sturdier and I'd welcome anyone's advice who has done this already. If I am buying off the internet what do i need to purchase?
  16. I had a very similar sounding problem to yours. Took it to a dealer who told me that a pipe had burst so I wouldn't be surprised if this is what has happened to yours. It's nice to have a clean rear screen again!
  17. I just had my MOT done on my 07 Roomster but had two advisories, "Offside and nearside front lower suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement". I was quite surprised that there would have been any advisories at all on a 3 year old car with 31000 miles but maybe I am overestimating the standard of Skoda build quality. I've got 3 questions which hopefully someone can answer: 1: Has anyone else had similar advisories? 2: Should I be concerned about this deterioration and act on it immediately? 3: How big a job will replacements be in terms of money?
  18. This is my whole problem. I want to fit the stickers but, like Calomax, have no idea where they should be placed.
  19. I'm intending to drive on mainland Europe during the summer and I'm aware that I'll need to fit headlamp adaptors for driving in the dark. I was wondering if anyone had fitted these to their Roomster and, given that the whole Roomster light cluster is quite large, how tricky is this? I've had a quick look and basically dont know where to start.
  20. has not set their status

  21. Figures are off Awesome's rolling road. I do appreciate that figures are just figures but I was quite impressed with a 51hp jump from the standard engine map. It is a real treat to drive now. With the rear ARB fitted, I love roundabouts!
  22. I had my Roomster 1.9TDi remapped last week at Awesome GTI in Manchester and had been hoping for a figure of around 130hp. Couldn't believe it when they informed me that I'd have 156.66hp and 274ft-lbs of torque to play with! All for £295. What sort of figures have other people had following their remap?
  23. Thanks Decron. To be honest, I was thinking along the same lines of getting the remap and leaving it at that. Works out a lot cheaper too.
  24. I've just had a rear ARB fitted to my Roomster 3 (1.9TDi) by Awesome and I'm seriously considering upgrading a few other things. My budget might be around £1000. I'd like to know what would be available in terms of improvement to the engine, exhaust, induction, brakes etc. I know there are a few people on here who have done various things to Roomsters and have a lot more knowledge than I do and I'd really appreciate their advice.
  25. I own a Roomster3 with a glass roof and was wondering whether or not it would be possible to convert the roof in some way to make it open. I realise that it is probably a virtual impossibility but thought I'd ask first.
