No, they are below those. Set into the under bumper. Attached with a fixing. Look as if they are blanks that can be removed and lights inserted, as on the Facelift models.

Hi, Having owned my Yeti for 8 years, I've just realised that the front bumper has inserts that look like a place where you could fit some additional lights. I'm talking pre FL model with round DL units. My question is, has anyone fitted additional lights here please? Of so I would be very interested to know what exactly they are called so I can fit some. Internet searches are coming up with nothing. Thanks in advance, Jo

Hi all, So I have just parted with a 2015 L&K that had a heated windscreen. It was brilliant. The screen, not the car! the car had issues! many of them 😞 Anyway, I have gone back to my trusty 2011 Elegance, and am thinking that it would be great to fit a heated windscreen to this car. Or rather get someone else to do it for me. So I am wondering if anyone has actually managed this yet? I've seen many posts about the topic, but can't see if anyone has actually done it. I do know that it was not an option as an additional extra, so that may be a sticking point. But I am sure that any auto electrical engineer worth their salt could be persuaded to do it, if all the info was passed their way. Thanks in anticipation. Jo

Hi MRW, Just wondering if you got you car repaired. Was the problem the diff in the end? I am trying to diagnose a whining, throbbing noise that chimes in at around 30 and then 60mph. Same age and mileage as your car. J

Hi widdershins, Hmmmm, I don't think this is the same. I have as you suggested driven it at 90mpg and no noise. Also I do not get any juddering or vibration. I have noticed that if I have a heavy load in the car then the noise lessens. Still there but quieter. Also, when decelerating with the foot off the accelerator, just slowing down naturally, the noise seems louder, more throbby and carries on until around 40mpg. It has been suggested that it may be a wheel bearing, not seated correctly. It has just past its MOT, so cant be worn. I am told that you can back the bolt off a bit and then retighten to the correct torque setting, and thus reset the bearing. Has anyone had experience of this? Jo

Hi Widdershins, Thank you for your helpful suggestions. To put some bones on the symptoms, the noise starts at around 58 mpg, then carries on until around 63 mpg, and then goes. I can also hear it very faintly at around 30 mph. I have noticed that it seems louder/more intense during deceleration, although that could just be because there is less engine noise. The noise does definitely build, getting louder and then tailing off. I haven't noticed any vibration at all. When I first noticed it, it was really quiet, but I do believe that it is getting worse, in that it is louder at its loudest, and lasts for longer, ie, starting earlier and carrying on for longer. It is also drowned out by noisy road sound. But it does do it on all road surfaces, most noticeable on smooth flat ones. In the early days the Skoda garage who were helping me with the diagnosis, ruled out a problem with the Haldex pump as it didn't exhibit any symptoms during start off when turning. They also said that if it was the Haldex pump then the noise would be all the time. Which it is not. Jo

Hi Martin, Thank you for your response. I am certain I am being fobbed off, of course a whining noise is not a characteristic of the model that would be ridiculous. But the question has to be asked to rule it out. In the early days I replaced all tyres to Coopers, which I had on my previous Yeti, and that made no difference to the noise. Various mechanics have ruled out wheel barings, I am inclined to think that perhaps it is a bearing somewhere however. The problem is that the car always had 2 issues. The metallic grating noise was almost dismissed from the start as it seemed that I was the only person who could hear it! Therefore they have concentrated on finding the source of the whining noise. When the gearbox oil was discovered to be black and glittery it was assumed that this was the sourse of the whining noise as it was the most prominent noise. But clearly that was in fact the metallic grating noise, as it has now gone. So tick that's fixed. I have now had 5 months of trouble getting this issue resolved, I have asked multiple times for a full refund but that is always ignored. To get the work done thus far I have had to threaten them with the Consumer trades act. This is all so frustrating as the car is lovely, but currently I have no enjoyment when driving it, unless there's a good sound on the radio then I can Ostridge for a while and drown it out! To be fair the seller has done some other work in an attempt to return me to a happy customer, but that was supposed to be in addition to having a fault free car, which it is not. Jo

Hi there, Last October I posted a question about a whining noise and strange metallic grating noise my 2015 4X4 Yeti was making. Its been a very long road indeed, but yesterday I finally got my car back from the seller. they had it for 2 months! They replaced the clutch and flywheel (that was warped), rebuilt the gearbox and transfer box. All at their expense. So I took it out and great, no more strange metallic grinding noise at 2000RPM, but to my complete horror the whining noise at 60 MPH still exists! even though they assured me that the car was noise free. Given that they have carried out all this work, what can it be, and is it a problem? The seller is now trying to tell me that because its a 4X4 that's just the sound these cars make, but I'm not buying that at all. They are being quite sniffy now s as far as they are concerned the car is fixed. I disagree so they are sending an independent engineer to assess the car. If any one has any ideas at all I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Jo

Mine has done this today also. I have purchased a tarp for now! Mind wont open properly either. It stated to open, but then mad an awful cracking sort of noise and stopped. Now it will not close down properly on one side, instead is closes and then slightly opens again. To date it has worked fine, but I noticed it was leaking earlier in the week, then we've had a few hard frosts. I wonder if there was water around the mechanism which froze and then broke something, so when I when to use it maybe some thing has got dislodged!. I wanted to open it to check the drain wasn't blocked! now I have a worse problem than when I started. I also would appreciate all helpful suggestions thank you.

So, its been a while. I took the car back to Skoda in Norwich for a 3rd time. Incidentally, they have not charged me for these tests, and have always washed my car and taxied me to and from work. Can't recommend this dealership enough, wish I'd got the car from them. But I digress. They noticed some marks around the gearbox so decided to investigate. They drained some oil from the gearbox, and it came out black and sparkly!!! Clearly this is not as it should be, and it is now quite clear that my whining noise is coming from the gearbox. So on the one hand this is good news, as now I know what the problem is, but on the other, oh my god!!!! Went back to the dealer I got the car from and quoted the Consumer Act at them. Its taken a while, but they are collecting it this week and hopefully will return it to me less a whining noise now we all know what the problem is. Also noticed this week that my sunroof is leaking, which does finally explain why the car smelled musty when I got it. They will also be attempting a fix here, although I am not that hopeful. Now that I am aware of my rights I may still reject the car. So watch this space. Hi Lianigraham, Cooper Zeon 225/50 R17 on rear. Brand new. Suhitrig - I think on the front, also new. Tyre pressures as set by the garage. Its just passed its MOT and been serviced, so I doubt wheel bearings. Jo

Hi BigJohn, The Haldex oil was changed at 17,000, although not the filter I think mention of that anyway. The car now has 21,000, although the noise was evident at 19,000. Jo

Hi, Yes I do mean MPH! 60 MPG if only! I had hoped that Skoda would have run the car on the ramp, but seemingly not. I will make sure that the garage its going to on Tuesday do this though thanks. The tyres are good, no sawtooth pattern. Jo

Hi, Can anyone help me please? I have a new - to me - 2015 1.4 Petrol AWD yeti. Been driving it for about 1 month and can hear a whining/transmission type noise at 60MPG. The noise goes at just after 60PG, but comes back again at 60MPG as my speed decreases, then it goes again below 60MPG. Skoda said it was down to mismatched tyres on the rear axle. I've changed those now, still have the noise 😞 so now have 2 good tyres going spare, if anyone would like to take them off my hands for a small consideration. I have noticed though, since the new tyre that I can hear a very faint whining noise at just under 40MPG which I cant remember hearing before. The car is going back to the place of purchase on Tuesday as the fault came with the car for them to inspect and hopefully put right. If anyone has any ideas please that I can pass onto them. Also, if its just that AWD cars make this noise, then I would also like to know, then I can tune the noise out when I'm driving. Although it is annoying as it is at 60MPG. Lastly, it has occurred to me that the car is just very sensitive, and doesn't like that it has different tyres on the front and rears axles. Although they now match in both make and tread on each axle. Could this be it? Skoda said that it doesn't matter about there being different makes front and rear, just as long as the axles have matching tyres. I'm am reluctant to put another set of tyres on the front only to find that it makes no difference, especially as the front tyres are new, all be it a economy brand. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Hi, Yes its had the oil changed, at 17k, No mention of the filter though. I've had it to Skoda for diagnosis and they didn't suggest anything!. Not sure about the warranty limit, I will check, It does have an hour limit to £65.00 which is frankly stingy. I also hear a whining noise at 60MPG, that I don't hear before or after. They did think that the Haldex pump could be at fault , but then dismissed this when they saw that it had had an oil change only 4K miles ago. Jo

Hi, Recently got a 2015 1.4 petrol AWD Yeti with 21,000 miles on the clock. Now that I have tuned my ears into the car, I can hear a metallic grating noise when the cars reaches just over 2000RPM, which goes as the revs increase. I recently had this with a 15 plate Citigo (different cars I know) but this turned out to be the clutch and Gearbox thrust bearing. Fortunately I had both replaced under warranty, but it would have cost £900! This car has a 3 month RAC warranty an so am keen to determine if this is the same problem before I'm out of warranty. Apart from the noise the car drives fine. The clutch does seem ok, but then so did the Citigo's clutch! Any ideas! Jo

This is all great stuff. I am now reassured about the MPG and the sunroof, but now I have the Haldex pump to consider. The car I'm looking at has almost 20k on the clock. At what millage does the Haldex pump need a service? I getting the impression that Skoda do not include it in their regular service regime. What's involved please? thanks again in anticipation. Jo

Hi all, Thanks for that lovely info. I am worried about the panoramic roof leaking. Its not on my wish list but the car I'm eyeing up has one, and so far its the only petrol 4X4 that has all the bells and whistles that I'm looking for. The 2011 yeti is an elegance and I have become accustomed to all its clever bits. I am heartened by the MPG, as I was worried that the extra weight on the 4X4 would make it a little thirsty.

Hi. Have driven a petrol 2WD for 4 years, and am now looking at a 2015 1.4 Petrol 4X4 with panoramic sun roof. Anything I should be looking out for? Will I notice much of a difference in economy? I average around 39mpg if I'm well behaved!

Hi all, I have just purchased a 2014 Citigo. I notice that the tyres are 175 / 65R 14 82 T. I have a set of spare wheels and winter tyres that I had for my Mk1 Fabia that are 185 / 60R 14 82 T. Could anyone tell me if I could put these on the Citigo? Jo
