  1. I wonder why it is you cant get a 1.6 CR 4x4. The setup seems to work fine in the bigger octavia estate. Would have tempted me to go diesel if it was available as an option on the Yeti.
  2. Finally caught sight of my first wild SM yesterday afternoon. Was a silver / grey on a 10 plate on the A148 in Bodham. Seems the snow monster has finally migrated into the wilds of north Norfolk.
  3. Blimey, these Snow Monsters must be a pretty rare sight here in Norfolk. I've been driving over 120 mikes a day for the last couple of weeks, and apart from a couple of captive examples at the local old peoples home come skoda dealership I have yet to see a single one. Nothing, nada, zip. Is it me, or just life in Norfolk?
  4. Not sure why this has turned into a Clarckson slagging match when he himself has rated the Yeti pretty highly. His review of the Yeti in his Times article is online for all too see. Even the previews for tonights show have him going on about how grist the Yeti is. Anyhow, can't wait myself. 15 mins to go. Only problem with Too Gear is the sears is always to short!
  5. 37 here Just ordered my SM last week. Hopefully being a TSI I won't have to wait too long.
  6. OK, here goes. Talbot Sunbeam - was quick as anything, but you had a hell of a time stopping. Brakes were atrocious. Vauxhall Cavalier SRi Ford Sierra 1600E Rover 416 - a cheap civic in "drag" Rover 214 - another cheap civic knockoff Rover 800 Sterling - had the best climate control of anything I've ever owned. Never had to adjust it. Auto mode was perfect. Peugeot 306 - worst car ever. You name it, and it probably broke. Rover 620 - This time a Honda Accord in drag Daewoo something crappy estate - I know, i know, but these were desperate times. Skoda Superb 1.9 pd130 - one cracker of a car. A great induction into the skoda owners club. Still have the brolly somewhere. Dodge Caliber SXT - great little car with a brilliant 2.0 CR 140 VAG diesel! Chrysler Sebring Convertable - Another yank tank fitted with the brilliant 2.0 CR VAG unit. SM is on order. Hopefully see it some time in April.
  7. Thanks for all the feedback. In the end I got a quote from another broker a grand less than DtD and went with it. Was only looking for a petrol model, so hopefully my nice candy white snow monster won't take to long to get here.
  8. Hi all Used to have a Superb and was well impressed with the Skoda brand. Had a wobble with the last car though and went for a yanky convertible. Mind you, even that had the VAG CR diesel in it. Brilliant engine. Anywhow, been lurking here a while as I specced up my new snow monster. Finally got that ordered today, figured it was about time I popped in here and said hello.
  9. I'm looking to order a nice candy white snow monster in the near future and have been looking at what discounts are available online. Stumbled over the car-finance.net site and the discounts seem pretty impressive. Trouble is I've never heard of them before, and cant find much info about them online. Has anyone here heard anything or used them before?
